After over 2 years we Went earlier tonite for dinner. Took almost 10 minutes after we were seated just before 8pm. We knew what we wanted to order just no one to order from. Finally placed order and my wife and son got a salad that when it came out was wilted with brown edges on the lettuce and the tomatoes were wrinkled. Waiter took it away to show the manager. Our burgers came out with what appeared to be ½ teaspoon of mayo and 2 pickle ends that were soggy at best. After removing those and getting extra mayo burgers were fine. Also finally got my shake 25 minutes after order. At the register the manager did delete the salads and apologize but damage was done. After a 2 year hiatus here, the service was slow and food was questionable. Lake St Louis or St Peters locations are the better option if you have to have Steak n Shake.

Service and quality of food has deteriorated to the point of being sad really sad over the past year. 6 waitresses working, 1 cook, 1 prep person somewhere I guess, 1 girl at drive thru. The store was not busy. I fact one table that had 6 – 7 people at it got up and left because they couldn’t get waited on. My take out order took 45 minutes and was cold. The cook was just throwing the product on the grill and I watch him throw a piece of cheese at a piece of meat, I guess for a cheeseburger and missed it by half the burger but got prepared as a cheeseburger and sent out that way??? Save yourself, time, money and aggravation… find a better place to eat.

This SteaknShake is not only the worst fast food restaurant today, but it has held the distinction for some time. This evening we decided to give it another chance. Perhaps, a new manager had worked miracles? But no, it was even worse. The place was about 30% full with plenty of empty tables and booths; even some cleaned. After standing and waiting for more than 15 minutes with two little kids, we finally had to just leave. There were 5 wait staff gathered around the food counter and only one even acknowledged our presence. He commented that some one would be with us shortly. Another 5 minutes and still not even eye contact from any worker. The owner of this business should fire everyone and start over. It has been horrible for at least 10 years. Just avoid! Don

Okay. So this is the slowest Steak ‘n Shake ever. I waited for to-go food for 45 minutes so far. I got my burgers about 10 minutes ago and then I had to remind them they only game me half of my order. So now we’re waiting for that. During my wait — in which I’ve been standing the whole time cause there’s no seats — I’ve been able to oversee the workers cooking in the kitchen. I’ve seen a few health code violations like people touching their hair and answering cell phones with their gloves on — and then not washing their hands and switching out their gloves. I also fail to see a health grade on the wall anywhere. Anyways, I’m still waiting. And I’m so unimpressed.

It’s actually quite upsetting as the food is usually decent and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately the service is atrocious each time we try here. Currently there are exactly four tables full and everyone is looking for service and food. Clearly this location is very poorly managed. My son asked for milk to drink. It was rotten and had sediment in the bottom of the glass which he noticed after first sip. They said they would replace it but never did and no reason as to why. I almost feel sorry for the servers who are trying to make things work at this unorganized mess. It a shame because the location would be ideal.

We eat here occasionally and typically have pretty good service. The host, I belive his name is Andy, always goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. They could certainly use some help bussing tables since this location gets a lot of traffic. Consistently a bit above average food.

Slow service, waited an hour to get my shake let alone my food. Horrible service and rude staff. I’m very repulsed the waitress did not check on me one time, my drink has been empty for 30 mins. Do not recommend.
