Tuesday night dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We had a phenomenal first experience here. The reviews were spot on. They only have about 16 – 18 seats, cozy, and on a slow weeknight, place wasn’t crowded. Food was excellent, we started with calamari & scallops, next we had lamb chops, & angus steak, shared pear mixed salad, last we each ordered the crème brûlée & tres leches. Everything was deliciouso! Well done Mr. Chef! Well done Mr. Server! Definitely we will return with other folks.

Small cozy place, rather empty on a Friday night. I’d really like to give 3 ½ stars but I’m feeling generous today. Three of us dined and shared everything. We started with the cheese plate. Now I’ve been to many many tapas places but this cheese plate was minimal even for tapas. The cheeses themselves were fine — but each of us had only a thumbnail bit. We moved on to several other plates which included a pork tenderloin and the beef filet, both quite nice — but the hit was the mussels. They were superb, and the small pot was enough for each of us to have several and then of course mop up that lovely sauce. My main complaint was the wine. For a wine bar, the selection was poor. And while they carry bottles that are very reasonably priced, the markup is 3.5−4 x, which I find ridiculous. So for 40 $ you will be drinking a 10 – 12 $ bottle of wine(retail). I know bc I looked them up on vivino. I might give them another try — but there are so many good restaurants in the area it will be tough to find the time.

The pictures posted by others adequately represent the food. I had the Portuguese style mussels and they were wonderful. I never had potato brava before so it could be a very good dish, it was just to heavy for me. Seems as an item better paired with the lamb chops. Next time, will simply get the salad or olive tapenade and bread with the mussells. Overall 5 stars.

Visited today March 5 for lunch around 130p. Atmosphere cozy food was delicious I had lamb chop delicious Catalan fries and my husband had grilled octopus and bean stew and chorizo Tapas. Server seemed not to want to be there never smiled once offered any suggestions felt like it was an imposition to have us in the restaurant. I would like to go back to try the food again but would have appreciated A server that is more personable and enthusiastic about the food he is serving. I wish I could give a higher rating but the servers attitude needs to be adjusted

Had dinner here after a recommendation. It was a Monday night and very quiet. I have to say we are delighted to find this place and will be back to try other dishes. It was hard to decide what to order. I had the rack of lamb and my husband had the cassoulet. Both very delicious and a nice portion. It is in a very small strip mall, but you feel like you have stepped into a Paris bistro upon entering. Charming young waiter and great martinis. Why not five stars? I am comparing them to La Folie in San Francisco and French Laundry in Napa/Sonoma. For Nyack, this is as good as it gets.

Stopped in for a late dinner with a few girlfriends. The restaurant is super small, but we lucked out and came in just as another table was leaving. Thank goodness! The food here was soooo good. I can’t wait to go back again.

They are open for lunch as well! Not just 5 – 10!!! Here and AMAZING. Easily the most flavorful menu I’ve experienced with Tapas. You could smell and taste the earth in their olive oil. The gnocchi were amazing and we also tried the paella. So robust in flavor that for a small plate it packed a bigger punch than a larger, less thought out plate would.

We had a nice dinner here last night. The restaurant is very small(I think I counted 7 tables) but it was very easy to make a reservation through the Unilocal app. Parking can be an issue in Nyack so I would suggest the municipal lot up the block. The waiter was attentive & funny, an absolute professional. There is a nice selection of tapas for all kinds of palettes. I would recommend the mussels(French style) and the Malbec from Argentina…

My girlfriend and I came here after visiting the Storm king sculpture garden. The tapas were great and we particularly liked the fresh fig dish. This place has a romantics ambience and the staff loves to recommend wine and does so enthusiastically

We loved this place! Small(16 seats) and intimate. Great wines. Small plates are well prepared and just enough food. Waiter was very friendly. We liked the lamb chops, meatballs, calamari, fish cakes. We’ll definitely return.

Had a great meal taking wife out for birthday dinner. Started with crab stuffed peppers which was my favorite dish of the night, although lobster risotto was a close second.

Had the pleasure of dining at this establishment last Friday night. I had wanted to give it a try for awhile and am so glad I did. This place is perfect for a date night and has a very intimate vibe. Also great for family dinners. I love tapas because you can mix and match and share. The service provided was excellent, Andrew was very helpful and attentive. The food was incredible. Try the potato brava it was out of this world. We will definitely be back!

Great Food and Service, the place is warmly lit and comfortable — great array of tapas to choose from for every flavor and a great wine list. I took ride all the way here from north NJ but well worth it — will be coming back !

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here. This is high quality, clean, fresh food. We thought everything was nicely presented and super tasty. Our server was very nice as well and took good care of us. The only thing I didn’t like: I wish the tables were not so close together. We felt a little like we were dining out with the people on either side of us. But this is a really small place. I think I counted 16 chairs total. So on the plus side it’s intimate and not likely to get very noisy. Overall very good experience and would go back.

The molten flourless chocolate cake was outstanding and is the pillar of this 4-star review. Our server was a knowledgeable gentleman with charm and a bit of pomp, and his fine service made the evening most enjoyable. We had so many tapas dishes that I can’t recall them all. The lamb was good. The croquettes were too. And the wine selection is nice. All in all a little pricey, but it’s hard to get through tapas without dropping some bucks. We’ll be back.

Finally got around to eating here. What a little gem. Food was great… loved the papas bravas and the chorizo. Had an ok glass of wine. Service was great which is to be expected because the place is A.) tiny and B.) I recognized our waiter from a while host of other(now gone) quality establishments in Nyack. Even the busboy was great. How often can you say that? Will be back again.

I really love Alain’s Wine and Tapas, a beautiful little intimate place in the heart of downtown Nyack. The restaurant is a little sliver of a thing, with maybe 10 tables in a narrow space, but the meals I’ve had there have been fantastic: great food, great service, and a lovely little romantic spot. The menu is an assortment of small plates(tapas, of course), including small salads, seafood, meat, and vegetable dishes. Nothing is more than $ 20, and most of the dishes include a decent portion. For example, the diver scallops, which have been on the menu every time we’ve gone, include three large scallops in a tasty little sauce — which is almost as much as you’d get in most restaurants as an entrée. We’ve almost always gone with another couple, and have always followed a simple menu plan: everyone gets to pick two dishes, and we go around the table. So I go first, make my pick, then my wife, then on and on. The idea is to get 8 different dishes that we all can try, and we can almost always split them up fairly so everyone gets a decent taste. It’s been a really great way to sample the menu. Some of our favorites: * The Diver Scallops I mentioned * the thai beef salad, which is something we have to get every time. * The mussels preparations, which are always well cooked and tasty. * the grilled baby octopus, which is perfection(my wife gets this as one of her two choices every single time). * Shrimp Catalan, which tasted like well-cooked and melt-in-your-mouth lobster. The dishes change pretty frequently, though, so there’s no guarantee that any of these will be available when you visit. But just go through the menu and get what interests you — chances are you’ll have a great meal. They also have a great selection of wines, of course, many of them priced affordably so that you can try a few. Finally, we’ve always had an amazing experience there. The manager, Bob, is just a great guy with a wry sense of humor, and a master of hospitality who has worked at some of Rockland’s best restaurants. He does a great job making us feel welcome and comfortable, and has never failed us with a dish or wine recommendation.

When I moved to Nyack earlier this year, I said…“Nyack needs a tapas bar!” Ask and you shall receive… Alain’s, the little, very different, slight rebellious, sister to Alain’s up on route 59 provides a unique experience. Is it typical Spanish tapas? No. Is it a small plates joint with a limited but impressive wine list? Yes. The Iberico ham wrapped asparagus and the filet dishes were quite impressive. Other dishes were great too. I was not completely impressed with the meatballs(what I am used to calling albondigas in my normal tapas haunts) but other than that, everything is great. There seems to one gentleman who runs that front room on the regular and he is often seen wearing a wonderful Hawaiian shirt. All that said, Alain’s Wine and Tapas is perfectly«Nyack»…Those of you who live here will know exactly what I mean.
