Awesome Mexican food. The Taco salad is delicious. The homemade shell is crispy and light. The pulled beef is DELICIOUS! The staff are super nice and very accommodating!
They deliver too!!! :)

I’ve been here a few times and I like to classify it as a better local chipotle. The ingredients always seem fresh and there are a lot of options on the menu. The owner is super friendly and always there. Portion sizes are huge so you can generally rely on leftovers! Guac is made in house, as well as the other salsas. Although it does have searing, it’s not a place to go out to dinner to. I would definitely say more of a take out place. They once had live music playing and they are extremely family oriented. The only downside about this place is its closed on Sunday, so you have to get your tex men fix in Monday through Saturday!

Food — horrible ck was rubbery and the steak taste like meat no seasoning!!!
Ordered 2 burrito bowls which first they say it comes in the homemade tortilla bowl well they sent it in a plastic container. When I called I asked them what cheese they use they told me Monterey Jack ok then proceeded to order. We get the order and one of the bowls has cheddar cheese which I specifically called and asked about my daughter does not like cheddar.

The food definitely looks better than it tastes. I came here for nachos and was so excited when I walked in. They have a chipotle-​style layout with all the ingredients in front and you can build your own order. However, when I actually ate it, I was not impressed. Their cheese is gross — like store bought nacho cheese sauce from a can — and that kind of ruined the whole thing for me. My sister ordered nachos with ground beef and couldn’t finish — she said the meat did not taste right. Won’t be back again.

Ordered here for the first time and I enjoyed it, sort of. I ordered a kid quesadilla for my daughter and she loved it, it was very tasty. I ordered a chicken burrito for myself and it was okay, it was a little on the bland side. I also had a side of nachos (I ordered the perfect pair combo which by the way only comes with cheese nachos, to add meat onto it is an extra $ 3). The nacho cheese wasn’t all that great, it tasted like store bought cheese. My daughter enjoyed the chips that the food came with, I wasn’t too impressed. Also the guac and chips combo, I was very disappointed in. The guac comes in the small chipotle size container compared to other Mexican spots that give you a huge tub with guac (the guac was good though). Will I order here again? It will probably be a last option sort of thing and if I get anything it will probably just be a quesadilla. I wouldn’t really consider this authentic Mexican.

Soooo… it’s cinco de mayo and of course I decided to get a burrito and decided I would try a place that had the best reviews. This place looked AWESOME that was until i actually got there. I decided I would do take out, so I placed my order and a few minutes later the girl called me and read back my order in entirety. I asked how long it would be and she told me 40 – 55 minutes. Well of course that’s not surprising nor does it bother me whatsoever I actually expected that. So 50 minutes later I arrive, walk up and say who I am an d was told to please wait. 5 minutes later someone comes back and says that they are sorry but they never started our order from an hour ago. So with the limited options I had I decided to just wait it out while they made my food. I met someone who asked me if i was on the food ordering line which I said no lol it’s that long line over there, I ordered takeout. I wish the review ended there but it doesn’t…one minute later I’m told that they have no more beef (which was what I ordered and they probably did have an hour before that) and asked if I wanted chicken… so I said okay… then they asked me what kind of rice and beans I would like… pinto and brown rice… what a surprise he comes back saying they don’t have pinto would black be okay? So I said okay… just when I wait to be rung up he tells me they have no habanero salsa but they have a hot sauce instead and is that okay. And guess who gets rung up right in front of me YOU GUESSED IT the guy who walked in 5 minutes after I walked in to get my take out. We both laughed and as I was being rung up I was given my food with a sorry which at that point the person who handed me my food with an apology wouldn’t even look at me. I gave 2 stars because of my crappy experience. As 99% of people who read my novel of a post will have a better chance of hitting the lottery then having a similar experience. I still feel like this was worth me beating my thumbs up to let everyone know how I felt. Food was good but was ruined by everything else.

If you want authentic Mexican cuisine then come here! We eat out a lot, and to say this is one of our favorite places is saying a lot! Everything taste amazing! Get the lemonade.

Love this place. The lemonade is amazing. And the owner was in house to tell us they make their own chips. He was a cool guy to chat with while we waited for our laundry to finish across the street.
The quesadillas were great. They weren’t greasy like I’ve had at other places. They were perfectly crisp and cheesy.
We’ll definitely be back on our next laundry day

The amazing attention and courtesy of these owners are extraordinary! I love the food especially the Nachos. I love the chicken quesadilla too. It tasted so fresh. Definitely see myself coming back here!

Love this place.
Massive burritos that are filled to the brim with various Mexican supplements. I’ve seen various comments on how it’s nothing but rice, nothing can be further from the truth. After adding all the requested toppings, they mix it up in the tortilla, so each bite contains each ingredient.
Do not compare this to Chipotle, they’re not the same. That being said, these burritos are twice the size of a Chipotle burrito.
There’s another Mexican place in Nutley, I think it’s called Panchos or something, anyway, that place is awful. $ 15 for a burrito that is only meat, rice, beans, and cheese is massive ripoff. Plus you can’t see your food being made in front of you.
Metropolis is the definitive Mexican spot. It’s cheap and fresh.

I wanted to try out a new Mexican place and this one was amazing!
At first there seemed to be some confusion when I said I ordered through Unilocal and was told that was for delivery and I said I selected pick up. Then a man who was I assume a manager came over and said he had that ready for me. I was about 10 minutes late from what I anticipated and was worried it might be cold, but they keep it in a hot box.
The items are priced great and when I got home to unwrap my burrito, I was amazed how BIG it was! My picture doesn’t do it justice. It was still hot after I got home and just filled with chicken and rice goodness. I’d say it’s bigger and a dollar or so cheaper than Chipotle, and without the e. coli threat!
Needless to say, I am looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu. I’m more of a take out person, but the restaurant itself was small and cute. The man who got me the burrito even double checked the order to make sure it was right and always had a smile on his face. I’m very please. Next up, gotta try that taco salad!

The hubby and I felt like Mexican tonight, and boy are we glad we gave this place a try!!! At first we were skeptical going in because the restaurant is set up like a deli at the front when you first enter. Mind you we were walking in around 6:30pm and we weren’t interested in eating food that had been sitting out all day. The owner or store manager greeted us and informed us we could sit anywhere. He was super nice and informative with the menu. All our worries went away when the food arrived, everything was delicious and absolutely fresh tasting with every bite.
I got the chicken quesadilla with tomato basil tortilla, my husband got a mega chicken burrito, my son got hard shell chicken tacos, and my other son got a kids chicken burrito… I tasted all, and everything was great! Even the chips and guacamole with queso was yummy, and you can tell the guacamole was made fresh.
FYI — Their fresh squeezed limeade is AMAZING!!! Must try! We will definitely be back, and it is such an added plus that they even deliver!!! Yaay!

There’s four of us, and the kids are notoriously picky about new foods. My wife and I, on the other hand, always try whatever is new, whatever is special. This restaurant caters to both types, in a warm setting with great potential. Delivery and takeout customers owe it to themselves to sit down here and eat one day.
The basics are these: you are given license to choose what you want in your tacos or burritos. For our kids, this is great because they can dodge lettuce and go for extra meat and cheese, and they can figure out what they like over time. The taco salad bowl is particularly good; the pastry bowl is delicious on its own.
For my wife and I, its the variety, specials, and consistently good quality that brings us back. Soup special? Count us in. Oh, you recommend this sauce combo? I trust you. Jarritos or Inka? Toughest decision right there. Everything is made with care, and the owners are attentive and interested in seeing you satisfied. Hey, what other place has the chef walk out to ask how your food is?
As for dining in, do it. There’s plenty of space, and it’s a clean, comfortable place. The bathroom is actually really nice. The outdoor patio is pretty well sized, and has serious potential. I think they’ll hit their stride next year for sure. You can’t beat Avenida Brazil and their dining room.
Some minor annoyances: trays and bowls are self-​bussed, and while I don’t mind, there’s not enough space to stack the dishes. That has to change. Some of the back room needs to be finished off. But minor, so minor.
There’s no more Taco Bell, no more Chili’s in our future. We’re happy to make this place a regular choice when we’re in the mood.

Let’s see, where should I begin? I decided to order from this place on GrubHub. I placed my order at 7:49pm, got the confirmation email, supposed to arrive by 8:45 (normal for a Friday night). I get a call TWENTY minutes later to confirm the items of my order as GrubHub supposedly didn’t send the details of the items ordered. Then they tell me it’s gonna be another 40 minutes and they «know it’s already been a while» and said sorry. I get a call at 8:55pm from the restaurant saying that the driver was pulled over by the cops and he no longer wants me to have that food so he would make a fresh order and send it over, another 15 – 20 min. The food FINALLY arrives at 9:15pm! I ordered a queso chicken burrito, grilled chicken burrito and chips & queso. First of all, the «queso» is NOT cheese, DEF from a can.EW. And I had ordered the spicy* queso, if that was spicy. I can’t imagine how bland their mild tastes. Then the burritos, one bag says «chicken» the other says «burrito.» Ummm ok, so which is which? I cut both open to solve this mystery and they both look the exact same on the inside. They were both 95% rice and 5% everything else. Honestly, it looks like someone rolled up their leftovers into a tortilla and gave it to us. We were given a 10% discount on the order since it was delivered so late, which doesn’t make up for any of it. Everything was horrible from start to finish. Needless to say, I will NOT ever order from here again!
As for the person who said this is the «best Mexican I’ve ever had».seriously? I feel sorry for you. Try AZTECA in Rutherford. THAT is Mexican food, maybe this place should get pointers from them!

Ordered take out from here tonight… Unfortunately their delivery guy wasn’t in until after 7:30 so the owner offered a discount if I came to pick up the food. I’m glad I wasn’t lazy and made the 7 minute drive.
Totally worth it. The food was fresh and delicious. I got a «naked» burrito bowl with pulled pork, and it was AMAZING. I had also tried the shredded steak as a sample, and that was delicious too. Tough choice! The guac and chips were good too!
Best takeout Mexican I’ve had in this area so far. Everything was so clean and the ingredients seemed fresh. The owner was SO friendly and you can tell he’s proud of his establishment and cares about his customers. Will definitely be returning

Delicious. Had yet to taste better Mexican food than any other place. If you’re a fan of chipotle. This is your spot to replace chipotle with. Same price with more quantity as well as quality. The owner is very kind and has a strong suit in making the customers feel welcomed. First time I came here myself because I usually get it delivered. Just wanted to come to the place myself and I sure don’t regret it. LOVE IT.

Super delicious! The first time I ordered from here, it was for take out. I ordered the nachos and my boyfriend ordered the flat iron steak quesadilla and we both got chips and queso. Everything was perfect! My bf raved about how great it was and that we definitely needed to go there again.
So we did :) this time we dined in and everyone there was so welcoming. They accommodated us to where there was air conditioning and the food was just as fresh and just as delicious as we remembered. We will definitely continue to be repeat customers!
AND THEIR GUACAMOLE IS FANTASTIC. Just a side note :)
