Let me just say, «not a place to write home about…» Their chip salsa was unusually dark and tasted somewhat strange(or was it a taste of expired salsa?!?) In any case, I didn’t get sick from it after eating it! Like someone else wrote, «meh food.»

Love Chevy’s! Love the chips and salsa and the shrimp fajita was delicious! Margarita was soooooo good. I have to mention too that the skirt steak was dried out and when we pointed it out, the manager immediately came over and had a new order made that was delicious — excellent customer service! I have to give a shout-out to the awesome waiter who gave my a daughter a sombrero even though it was not her birthday. We were celebrating her cousin’s birthday but he gave her a sombrero too and made her day! The updated décor was really nice and we had such a good time! We are definitely going back!

Horrible service, meh food. I used to like this place years ago. What the heck happened? We stopped in after seeing Spotlight at Clifton Commons(Great movie, go see it) and figured we’d split the combo dinner since it was late. I ordered a margarita on the rocks, he ordered a Modelo. After much waiting my margarita came and it was frozen, not on the rocks. What the heck, am I 16? Food tasted burnt, the mole sauce was awful. It was extremely loud in there yet the place wasn’t full. Our waitress kept disappearing for extraordinary lengths of time. We would have ordered more if she’d come back occasionally. Bathroom was dirty, too. Paper was everywhere. Ick. Next time we’ll wait and go to a diner.

I know, I know. I know a lot of people are very opposed to chain restaurant Tex-Mex, but I don’t care… I’ve always liked Chevy’s and I’ve never had a bad experience at a Chevy’s. I’ve probably been to this location 8 – 10 times over the years, but it had been a few so we decided to eat here before a movie a few weeks ago. When we got there we mentioned to our waitress that we were in a bit of a hurry because we were heading to a movie and she was completely cool with it and even made sure our orders were expedited. I ordered a simple two-item combo(Salsa Chicken Enchilada and a Picadillo beef soft taco) and the other two in my group ordered the salsa chicken quesadilla and Fish tacos. Our waitress hooked us up with multiple trays of chips and salsa(while I like the salsa here a lot, it could be a tad bit spicier for my taste) and was great about getting the food to us quickly. Luckily we were there before the lunch rush, but our food got to us in about five minutes and it was all done perfectly. Whoever they had working in the kitchen that day was goooood. Anyway, no complaints. The food was just what we wanted, filled us up, and we had a great server. Can’t ask for much more than that…

I had a really good time here tonight, minus my daughter’s fuss. The food was soooo good! The chips are super thin and crispy… mmm. At first glance the salsa looked a little nasty, but it actually turned out to taste great! We ordered nachos, a chimichanga, shrimp tacos, and a chicken soft taco for my daughter. Absolutely loved all of the food! The service was great. The waitress was quick to note I ordered the chicken soft taco to avoid my chimichangas salsa chicken for my daughter, and informed me it was the same meat, but that she’d be happy to substitute it. I was glad she brought this up, since I worried the salsa chicken would be too spicy(it’s not!). After our order she also brought play-dough for our daughter. Who does that?!? It was a great idea, but my daughter was a bit young for it yet and tried to eat it. Anything we needed was quickly attended to, and always with a smile. I’d definitely go back here. I’d order it to go. Can’t beat great food and great service

We wanted to have a nice night out last night with my husband and our 1 and ½ year old son, so we decided to try Chevys in Clifton. We have been there a few years back but haven’t returned since due to poor service and cheap careless food. However, we decided to retry it again since we were told that they have recently done some remodeling. We thought maybe they did some remodeling on their staff and food as well. But, we were wrong. We came there and were seated in a four top table. They offered us a wooden booster seat and placed it on the wooden chair. Trusting that the hostess was trained on what to give a small child, we didn’t question her. We also have never used a booster seat before, we have only used a high chair. I tied him into the chair with the buckle and went on to order our food. We placed our order and after a long wait they brought my husband out the wrong dish. I also had ordered a chicken enchilada and they gave me beef instead. However, the server didn’t use a notepad to take the order. So, I can assume his memory on a busy Friday night wasn’t serving him right. They should probably enforce the servers to not trust their memory and to always use note pads as other resteraunts do. But, I can look past that. Right after we finished paying the bill is when the real tragedy happened. The wooden booster seat that was given to us by the hostess, ends up sliding right off the wooden chair and our 1 in a ½ year old child slips and tumbles off the chair and crashes on the floor while still being strapped in with the buckle tight around his waist. Thank God he knew enough to put his arms out to save him from his head being split open. Although, he was still hurt. His arms were red from the fall and when we came home his wrist was bruised and soar. He is still in pain from it and it is currently the next day. We were informed from an employee that the hostess gave us the wrong booster seat. The booster seat that was given to us was meant for a cushioned booth to sink into. We were sitting at a regular table not a booth so the wooden booster was not safe for that type of table. It would end up slipping off(as it did) by any type of movement. The correct booster seat is a black non-slip. Although, now I am thinking a high chair should be the only thing given to a guest sitting at a table like that. All the guests in our section were stunned and in shock of what they just saw. The manager however was not. She came by our table and simply asked if our son wanted an apple juice or an ice cream to take home. Both of which are what comes with his child option already. So really that was not a help at all. I told her that she should implement saftey rules to her staff and she basically spoke to me like it was our fault. We were not the one’s who chose and offered that booster seat. As I stated before we trusted the hostess to know what booster seat goes with what kind of table. It is their job to ensure safety upon their patrons during their stay. We left with the cheap ice cream and no appology from the manager. I am assuming she didnt want the resteraunt to admit fault due to insurance purposes. Never the less today I am left with a hurt child with a bruised and soar wrist. I was also woken up in the middle of the night with him crying«Mommy, it hurts.» This could have been a lot worse and I am glad it wasnt. Chevy’s says on their site that, «they provide a kid friendly environment,» and it was nothing but a danger zone. Do not bring your kids here if you care about their well being. Chevys I want an appology!

Love the complimentary chips and Chipotle salsa. Must haves when I come here is the Mexican bull dog and shrimp and blue crab enchilada. Yum! Also snagged a deal for movie ticket for $ 9 with purchase of our meal. Perfect since AMC is just a few steps away. Great date night!

When we want a Mexican fix we come here. Although I haven’t tried anything else besides the Mixed Grill Fajitas everything seems to look pretty good. I enjoyed my mommy daughter date while sipping Dos Patrones Margaritas. She had frozen Pineapple and I had a frozen Peach. Mommy tasted a hint of pineapple in her margarita and didn’t think it was as strong as it should’ve been. I have no complaints about the food or drinks. One thing I’d like to mention is that during the second part of us dining at Chevy’s our waiter was missing. He completely vanished from the restaurant unless he was on a lunch break. I thought to myself how can that be possible when he was on the schedule to work our section of tables. Nonetheless I’ll be back.

Went to Chevys on a student budget. I was ordering drinks from the happy hour specials menu to get the most out of my buck. Our server tells us to order a different drink which he stated tasted better and was cheaper so I ordered it. I enjoyed the drink only to be surprised by the bill! The drink was Not cheaper by any means! It was three times as much as I was budgeting on a drink for that day. I even told the server who offered the drink that I needed to spend x amount of money. I confronted our waitress who did nothing but said I had to pay. I asked for the manager and he said the same thing… He probably viewed me as a young kid because that is the way he spoke to me. RUDE staff. Manager should be replaced for condescending attitude. Educate your workers about what your restaurant offers and the pricing of items before giving out false information to your customers! Horrible.

We used to love this place, but now we only like this place. We used to come often when Adam and Kris worked. These guys were awesome, remembered names and knew how make your dining experience great. Now to the good stuff! Every day there’s a special. Please call ahead and check. Our favorite day was/is Wednesday! Margarita Wednesday that is. $ 2 margaritas all day! Your options are margys on the rocks or frozen. Did I mention $ 2 margaritas lol And finally there’s happy hour! Everyday from 3pm-7pm and then 10pm to close. We love the tacos, wings and nachos from the happy hour menu. If the weather is great, try to get a table outside. See ya on a Wednesday

Well, ain’t this somethin’? I’ve reviewed this particular location two previous times, and this third time it scores high after being at three, then two, and now earning 4 stars. It’s like an EKG reading… but I hope that this revived version of the Mexican chain keeps it’s heart beating. Thump, thump. .thump, thump… The menu has, again, been updated with several more vegetarian and seafood options, to our delight. We each had the same dish because it sounded good. The spinach and mushroom enchilada was the chosen one for the evening… and it didn’t disappoint. Two corn tortillas stuffed with sautéed mushrooms and spinach, topped with this fantastic green salsa Verde which almost tasted like a curry. With a touch of something sweet inside it to balance the fragrant sauce, we couldn’t get enough of it. The price point was fair, below moderate, and the portions were at human levels instead of trying to send you home with lunch for tomorrow. Service was super, courtesy of a fresh new employee 2 weeks with the company. Well, I see that Chevy has listened and may just have gotten it together. Keep it up, you guys… as we’re leaning back to the light side of the Unilocal

I know Chevy’s is a chain restaurant and all that jazz BUT I actually like it. Sue me. So whenever I finish a show at school that I performed in, my cast and I would usually go to Chevy’s to celebrate our performance. We would also always do this after 10pm because of Happy Hour and Half-Price Apps which we’re actually really good! First off all: $ 4 Margaritas. Now I love a good Margarita and Chevy’s actually has a decent one! Not one of those Watered-Down-Chain-Restaurant cocktails that you usually expect but this was actually really good! Very refreshing, sour and very smooth! Now I also love me some Nachos and that’s what I typically get from here with some Carnitas on top. Nachos were bangin’. Plenty of chips, plenty of meat, plenty of cheese, plenty of veggies, and plenty of guacamole. Where could you go wrong? While I do love some authentic Mexican, and you’re not gonna find that here of course, it was actually really good for a chain restaurant and that’s saying something!

Came here mainly because I got a ‘free birthday entrée’ reward on Real Mex rewards program which Chevys is supposedly a part of. This particular location tho is a franchise and doesn’t participate in the program. However, the manager was super nice about it and sat down with me and explained the situation. She even offered a free app(chicken flautas) on the house. It’s got a nice fun casual vibe with Mexican music on the background. I love booths! The chips and salsa was served immediately and the salsa had a slight kick. The flautas looked a bit like spring rolls you get from Chinese take out(not as fat) with a bed of chopped up lettuce on the bottom. There were 6 in a serving and was $ 8. Pretty yummy… But all deep fried foods are kinda yummy. :) big pieces of chicken and I just realized that these are cut up from three regular length flautas! Silly me Not a huge fan of the mango sauce on the side. Also they had a special tonight for chicken fajita for $ 10.

Tip: Get there before 7 if you can(on a weekend). Because of the location, this Chevy’s is usually packed. People are in and out, and they turn the tables over quickly, but it’s a good suggestion if you want to avoid any type of wait. We got a table for two at 7pm last night and had no problem getting a seat. Within 15 minutes, all the tables were filled. There is a bar area, back seating area, and a glass enclosed, heated front seating area(this is open in the warmer months). Food is always good, typical Mexican food offered. I stayed simple last night and had the Chicken Quesadillas. Love the guacamole! Get it freshly made at the table if you can(although your waiter might hate you if it’s an extremely busy night, so tip them well). I’m not sure what was going on last night, but our drinks took FOREVER. I was finished eating by the time I got my Mexican Bulldog drink. Luckily, the person I was with and I are pretty easy-going, but they definitely lost money on us, as we may have had a second drink if that didn’t happen. It doesn’t matter how busy a place is; you get the drinks out before the meal.

I’m not a huge fan of chevys, I prefer on the border unless I’m in situations where I have no choice. Today I went and got desert. I got the mini fried ice cream. First off, the service was terrible. Our waiter got us our drinks and totally forgot about us and didn’t come back to take our order for almost a half an hour. We finished our chips and salsa and sangrias in that time($ 3 btw on a Sunday). He finally came and didn’t even apologize. Now for the ice cream, it was probably the worst fried ice cream ice had. It came with a coconut shell instead of the regular dough they use on friend ice cream. The coconut was too chewy and just didn’t go with the ice cream. I wouldn’t get it again The sangria was delicious though! But that’s really it.
