Place is the best! They have a great selection. And always have everything in looking for. They have a «money back guarentee» section of highly recommended titles which is a great way to get into new books and comic.

I first stopped here last week wanting to check out all the shops in my area, I liked it quite a lot, decided to return today for new comic book day. Their sign says open at 12(noon), but it’s a quarter past and I’m still outside waiting. Gonna head elsewhere for now. I mean, the ONE day per week a comic shop shouldn’t open late is Wednesday.

I actually made it here when they finally felt like opening. I asked for a certain comic but the person who was there looked at me like I was making it up or it doesn’t exist. I realized that there is some serious cronyism at this place. Cause the person at the register changed his attitude for his buddy that entered after me. So the 5 star reviews you see here are tarnished. Might be friends of the store.

I’ve only been to this store once but had a good experience. For a small shop they seemed to carry a good variety of items. The person working there was friendly and helpful. I’d return if I was ever in the area again.

I bought a book from these guys at the Rhode Island Comic convention. I paid $ 40 for a Beat up copy of Marvel Premier 15(1st appearance of Iron Fist). I asked if the book was complete and was ASSURED that it was. Guess What? After I got home I noticed the Marvel Value Stamp was cut out, pretty much making the book worthless… So I found the company online and wrote them an email, then another, then weeks later I got a rude response telling me that I actually got a great deal. Here is the exchange below starting with their first reply to me… …“On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 8:38AM, Paul Conrad ‚ wrote: Hello, If you purchased this at a comic con from us the policy is all sales are final, once the book leaves our table we cannot accept any returns. The book was priced cheap because it was a low grade book, it would have been 2 – 3 more expensive otherwise. Comic X-Plosion«… (Now my response) Thanks for the reply I don’t really think $ 40 for a beat up(VG at BEST) 1st appearance of Iron Fist with no marvel value stamp inside is priced cheap especially after I ASKED if the book was complete and I was reassured it was. I’m sure you’re employees remember selling a Marvel Première 15 at the Rhode Island con. I’m also sure that they would’nt dispute that they told me the book was complete when I asked. I guess it is my fault for trusting a vendor, but I thought since your company sets up at a lot of these cons that I could trust you. My mistake. I thought this was the kind of reply I would get, if any, from you guys but I thought you might be different. I guess this is a good learning experience for me. I buy, sell and trade all over eastern ma and RI. I frequent the time capsule stores, multiple new england comics stores and others, I’ll be sure to let them, their customers, and everyone else know how comic explosion does business. Im off to see where I can post some online reviews about your service. Thanks for ripping me off Matt (Now Comic Explosions’s response to my last email) …“No problem, have a nice day.» .Basically I was looking for some type of reconition of a mistake, I didnt ask for a refund or anything in return. Just an I’m sorry for the mistake or something. But no. This place has no idea what customer service is. They are obviously out to make a quick buck and dont care about scamming people who give up their hard earned money to buy their crappy books. So be warned and be aware that when you deal with them, dont trust anything they say and if you do get screwed over, dont expect them to fix anything or care about your problems. Worst comic dealers I’ve ever come across in my entire life.

Completely agree with Ethan B. I would recommend he go to the comic store in Bloomfield called The Comic Book Market @ 28 Washington St Bloomfield, NJ7003 place is terrible, when I asked the guy about a comic book. He gave me this whole interrogation like I was being an asshole for asking him about a comic book that he has never heard of. Then he asked, why I didn’t order it previously. I told him its because I just heard of it and I came into the store because I wanted to know if they had any copies of it. He was very condescending and very hostile. I know now why the place is completely empty.

I’ve grown up with comic explosion being a main part of my life. Scott the owner of Comic Explosion has seen the rise and fall of the industry. If you want to take your kids to a novelty store you should go to barnes and noble. You’ll learn that most comic book store owners do have an elitist way about them due to the fact that it is a dying industry because of the multimedia realm. There are more gaming stores than there are toy stores or comic book shops and certainly book stores. I’m thankful that this store was open which helped influence me in both design and in my art. Thank you Scott for keeping the store around =)

I like this store okay, and the comic selection is pretty good, but I don’t always feel like the person working there really cares about the customers at all. I’ve gone here with my son two times, and both times, when we asked for help(we were the only people in the entire place– and it’s always the same guy working), it seemed like we were inconveniencing him. How am I supposed to know that some of the books are hidden under others, because other customers make a mess and no one bothers to reorganize? How am I supposed to know that«alphabetized» by title doesn’t mean the same thing to him as to me? All in all, I feel like I’m bothering them when I go here, and I can certainly find other stores where the people are friendly, helpful and want my business. If I’m in the neighborhood and my sons is craving comics, I might stop by again, but I won’t expect any help, and I won’t go out of my way to go there.
