We decided to go here during New Years day. We gathered up the family and convoyed to the lanes. Very colorful place with the nite glow affect. I guess $ 25.50 is the going rate per hour these days for bowling. Has it been that long since I bowled? Anyway… We gathered up our shoes and went to our lanes. Wait a minute… Wheres my shoes? I went to the attendant and asked for my shoes and he claimed that someone else must of took them. Oh… My nephew decided to grab them. Ok. Off to the lanes. The screens were fun and the lanes were well taken care of. The group had a little confusion about why the lanes shut off so early. The staff was nice enough to offer free bowling for 6 the next day. I had a good time and would visit again.

My company neglected to plan a company holiday party, so I organized one on my own. I wanted something inexpensive since some of the staff doesn’t have a ton of disposable income. The staff at Novi Bowl offered to stay open an additional hour to accommodate my group. That really impressed impressed me. It cost $ 10/person for two games and shoes which is a fair price and totally affordable for most people. Lane conditions were better than expected for open bowling at 11:00 at night. I ordered three pizzas. A couple people thought it was good but average while the rest of us seriously thought it was delicious. Something was different about the cheese that really gave it a fantastic flavor. I’d order it for carryout if I lived closer. We all had a really nice time. The only thing that would impress me more is if they still have my bag that I have yet to go back to try and reclaim!

Check out their website for coupons… that they don’t honor. Also, come here to talk to the manager who seemingly doesn’t like customers and makes them feel like they are his enemy. Also, if you are a minority, be expected to collectively be called«Japanese» and then bowed to and told«konbanwa.» True story.

Novi bowl has been my go-to bowling alley since I was little. Good prices, just your average old school bowling alley. If you’re a yuppy Northville snob and don’t like these establishment I suggest paying 3 times as much and going to lucky’s strike. But for me and my friends, novi bowl has provided great cheap entertainment for years.

Not the best functioning place. lots of malfunctions. once when my son went up to bowl on the 2nd frame, the bumpers went would still be 4 stars even with the malfunctions, if it wasn’t for the outrageous price. should have been called«waste your money to play 2 stupid games» I hope I saved you $ 75

Great place. Nice lanes. Great for adult fun and family fun too. Cheryl is a great instructor when you need some lessons. Tons of leagues to choose from.

Lets just start off by saying I’m the perfect customer for any local bowling alley/pool hall. I enjoy these types of places because I’m able to compete with friends, purchase a cheap pitcher, and not have to worry about hearing them over loud music at the bar/club. Best part about bowling alleys should always be the price and service, right? Well let me tell you first hand, NOVIBOWLHASBYFARTHEWORSTSERVICE of any bowling alley, possibly any establishment i’ve ever been too. The only reason i’m giving 1 star is because of the fond memories I’ve had with my friends there. Sad thing about it is that most of those memories have all been tainted by one of the employees, usually the same group of people too. I will say that there’s one gentleman there that happens to be very nice, and I feel bad that he has to work with those types of people. As a side note, I’m writing this review at a completely random time. I didn’t have a recent occurrence that pushed me to go straight home to my computer to write a bad review, I just felt like it was necessary for me to write a review for the alley I’ve grown quite fond of, Drakeshire lanes, while also making sure to leave a comment on the place that has pushed me into driving out of my way to avoid their establishment, Novi Bowl. I’ll go ahead and provide my most recent debacle with Novi Bowl. My best friend from WV just got back into town and wanted to go shoot some pool, so he throws out the idea of going to Novi bowl. We both know that 90% of our visits to novi bowl usually result in some type of unsettling service, but we decide to go anyway because we live not even a mile away. We get to the alley to find maybe 5 – 6 cars in the lot, so its safe to say that they’re not to busy. After providing our ID for a rack of balls and two sticks, we take the sticks and roll them across the counter to find out which ones are bent/broken, and what do you know, both sticks start fumbling around everywhere. We kindly ask for two new sticks and the gentleman says«I don’t have time find you guys a perfect cue, this is what you get when you come to an alley to play pool». Now let me remind you that there wasn’t more then 7 – 8 people in the whole alley, and this guys telling us he can’t turn 180 degrees to the rack right behind him to let us find a somewhat straight stick. The man continued to curse under his breathe while slamming the already bent sticks on the counter for us to examine. Worst part about all this is the fact that we kept going back to shoot pool there, all coming with there very unpleasant experiences. If you are in the Novi area for bowling or shooting pool, make sure to check out Drakeshire lanes. My friends and I, all living in Novi, have been driving out to Farminigton for at least 1 – 3 times a week to bowl and shoot pool and have nothing but great experiences. We were on a first name basis within the first month of going there, even provided some great deals, and we absolutely love it. These types of places thrive off repeat customers, its how they’re able to drop prices down so much, but let me tell you first hand«NOVIBOWLISNOTTHATPLACE!!!»

I hadn’t been here before tonight, not sure why not since I used to frequent Guernseys and the Mexican place nearby when I lived in the area. We had a group of ten or so for a birthday party. It was about $ 10 a person, plus $ 2.95 for shoes, for two hours and five people per lane, so I think we bowled two strings — not awful. They had a PIZZACART, for $ 1/slice, which is genius, but unfortunately I was busy stuffing my face with a cupcake the first time it came around … And then it never came by again :(so sad. I had a dollar ready and everything. This is your typical bowling alley, pretty nice and clean overall. One or the desk employees got a little snarky when she found out we were all paying separately, but other than that the employees were nice. They gave us fifteen extra minutes because we were finishing the second game which was also nice. I’d come back here again if I was in the area.

Karaōke Show recently reestablished: In recent months, weekend karaōke took place sporadically — more off than on. Now, in November it’s returned with Patty Kaye’s group hosting it. This Saturday there was a moderate sized group, since people had kind of drifted away in recent months. That was all to the good for those of us who like to sing/perform more than once or twice in an evening! The lounge set up is designed especially for karaōke, with a raised stage area large enough for a half dozen karaokeans to do some impromptu choreography while they’re singing. The group who showed up were really into the show, and that made things more enjoyable. If you have a group, or even want a party event catered — they can do that — and they even have a side room to accommodate extra large groups. Right now, Saturday seems definite, but Friday seems a bit iffy, so call before you come on a Friday until the situation is clarified. For the next few weeks, until the karaōke crowd«rediscovers» Novi Bowl, we’ll probably be able to sing every forty minutes or so, but after that there will probably be more people and excitement, but longer waits to sing.

Novi Bowl has been around since before I was in highschool. It’s still really clean with a fair sized gameroom, trophy shop and bar. The prices may be a little steep when compared elsewhere but I like this alley over some of the others in the nearby areas.

Meeeeeemorieeeeees! Before a tear rolls down my face, let me break this joint down for you: Parking: Huge parking lot and never had a problem finding a spot. Location: Right off the road and near the border of Northville and Novi. In high school, we’d come here often since it was the closest one around. Prices: It was affordable to play here but with time it’s increased but not any more expensive than seeing a movie in 3D. Atmosphere: It was not pleasant to come to bowling alleys before the no smoking inside rule so you always would leave smelling like smoke. However, now bowling alleys aren’t bad. Fun place with tons of lanes and computer screens which make recording scores easier. It’s a great places for dates, group outings, or a night out with your friends. Doesn’t matter if you’re a bad bowler it’s still a good time.

It has a lot of potential, but not what I’m looking for from my local bowling alley. On a Sunday night where we were one of only two groups in the entire alley, we paid $ 4 per game(we had the option of $ 25/hour). I know we’re in yuppie-ville and I know $ 4 isn’t a ton of money, but it just makes more business sense for them to lower the prices on nights like that. I saw about a dozen 20-somethings in the bar who I’m sure would be much more likely to bowl if it didn’t cost them a beer, which was also way overpriced. The lanes were in great condition and the place was very clean. I’m sure it’s a great place for children’s birthday parties. However, these are not things I care enough to pay for when I go bowling. I want cheap fun, so I won’t be going back.
