Awesome staff & store! I have know about the store for over 5 years, even though they have been around forever. I took my open water class in June of 2015, and I have not stopped taking classes to enrich my knowledge since then! They have a great assortment of well educated instructors and staff that will make are everyone is comfortable and confident, and you can tell that they all genuinely care. When you are interested in purchasing gear, they want to make sure that you are fully educated about the options and won’t just sell you something to make a sale. They want everyone to make a purchase that will be the right one for them, and there is no pressure to buy.
I have already recommended this store to several people and they will continue to be my go-​to location for diving instruction and gear in e Detroit metro area!

These guys are SUPER NICE !!!
We came in looking for something to wear on my feet in the pool…
and they did their best to help.
They seem to really know their stuff, and are just the nicest guys.
We went in knowing nothing about scuba, and they treated us well.
They have some really cool videos on youtube too!

Just got my PADI Open Water certification and just can’t say enough good things about the great team at Motor City Scuba and Snorkel. Everybody was very welcoming and did a great job making me feel at home. I have a great respect for outstanding teaching, and that’s what I experienced here. I observed them working patiently with learners of all different levels of comfort, and helping us to become competent divers. I will be coming back for more courses in the future, as I have complete trust in the knowledge and skills of the divers here!

Definitely a fan. And we know nothing about scuba or snorkel. Stopped in to get info on snorkels and masks for upcoming trip. Met Chuck and he was more than helpful. More information than we thought about. Could not have had a better experience regarding customer service and having a conversation about snorkeling adventures. Did not try and over sell us and was very clear about what we should look for in equipment. If we need any more info or equipment this is where we will go.

Absolutely wonderful dive shop. Friendly, helpful, engaging staff who are willing to help with everything. My wife is taking her open water course here and loves the staff. She’s very nervous about diving but the staff has helped her to feel confident, safe, and excited about our upcoming trip. Even better, they don’t try to upsell you on gear! They’ll help you find the right equipment for you.

This is a great place. I took my basic PADI cert class here and Jay is a great instructor. Plenty of assistants help during pool time and the knowledgeable staff is great to buy all the gear you need to start this amazing hobby. They have great local and international dive trips and a local group to meet new people. Can’t say enough about this place!
