I eat here almost every weekday. The burgers and Philly cheese steaks are fantastic. The Chinese chicken salad and Popeye salads are great. The soup the day is always very good. Lots to choose from on the menu. For breakfast, the breakfast sandwich is my favorite. The staff is warm and friendly. Great place.

Big menu of item choices, plenty of healthy options. Order beforehand if you don’t want to wait, gets very busy at lunch. Ollie fries are better than french fries, since they are seasoned. Great café to stop in and try something from the lunch menu.

We were very fortunate to find this place by chance. It has a ton of options, and a huge menu of various foods that are quite affordable. I’ve never been disappointed by what I’ve gotten here, from a blue cheese burger, to a Thai satay chicken wrap, to the smoothies and milkshakes they offer as well. Breakfast is not as vast, but the items they offer are cheap and delicious. The service is wonderful, and because of their hours it is generally the same wonderful women working each day. There is a guy that cooks in the backroom but I did not get to meet him. I have been bringing in people in consistently and they have all loved the place. It’s a hidden gem and more people need to be aware. My ONLY complaint, is that it closes at 3 and is not open on weekends. I intend to blow the place wide open so they’ll have to be open more…

They cannot seem to ever get my orders right. Ordered a hamburger cooked well and it was medium at best. Its also over priced for what you get. OK I will give them another try… I ordered a quesadilla with only chicken and cheese. What do I get? Chicken, cheese, mushrooms, peppers and onions. It had almost no cheese. The gal that took my order even repeated back so chicken and cheese only. I said yes please. Seriously?! I think the only reason this place is open is its the nearest place to eat and all of the hipsters who go there daily. I refuse to ever give them my money again. Maybe someone else should open a café that has good food. It would do well. They have even turned away a fellow coworker from getting breakfast because they were«too busy» for a catering job. Why even turn the open sign on if that is the case. Do yourself a favor and DONOTEATHERE. You will be doing your stomach and wallet a favor.

Nothing super fancy, but do all the basics well. Never had a bad meal and my dog loves all the treats she scores every time we visit.

Can’t go wrong coming here. Such a great place to drop in and have a simple bite of delicious food. The staff is fun and interactive. Please is clean and nice to eat out. You can eat outside. I had a great time here and will come back for sure. They like to entertain.

I’ve had several unfortunate experiences here in the last few months. They keep changing the menu and not updating their website. Just so you know, the Sloppy Joel is discontinued and today when I received my ‘to go’ order I’d faxed in, they substituted a Brie Burger for a London Bridges Falling Down(which is supposed to be dripping with Welsh Rarebit sauce) because apparently they’ve discontinued that too! When I called to ask them to correct the error(I didn’t know the burger was discontinued yet), the woman I spoke with on the phone was completely unapologetic, «The guy must’ve substituted a Brie Burger without telling you. Do you want some other burger?» she asked. Of course the answer is, «No I didn’t want to go out and pick up another burger from you.» So now they’ve taken my money and I’m left with something I never asked for or wanted. I knew I should’ve ordered a salad.

Café Joel makes the best food! They’ve catered many of our company meetings and I recently stopped by with my boyfriend for lunch. I had the grilled salmon salad and my boyfriend had the hangarburger. We also split a chocolate malt — to die for. My salmon was cooked just right and the dressing was perfect. My boyfriend really liked his burger and fries. Look forward to eating here again!

Ehhh, each time I’ve been here(3 times) the food has been super bland. I tried to give it another chance just to have it let me down. The service was good though. Wish it was good because it’s so close to my work… :-(

The food here is great. I have eaten here a number of times and I have never been disappointed. The owner is a very nice woman also. We bring our dog every time and she always brings her a dish with water. I wish they would go back to the hours they had before. You can’t go wrong if you come here.

The service is like no other place I know — they have gone out of their way every time to make me and my party feel incredibly comfortable, happy and satisfied. The food is excellent, home made dips and sauces are to die for. Thank you for hard work

Love this place! Disappointed that it’s no longer open at dinner time though. There is a good variety of food and the owner is so nice. Very cheerful and always very inviting! There is never anyone else in there when I go so I hope business picks up so they don’t close down. Prices aren’t cheap but aren’t ridiculous either.

Finally, I found great burgers nearby! Wonderful garlic fries and onion rings, too. Café Joel is hidden away and off the beaten track. Now that I have found this place, I want to do everything to help keep it open. Unfortunately, since Disney moved out of Hamilton, their business has dropped dramatically. Friendly service, cool retro mobiles hanging from the ceiling, and the South Novato Library is right around the corner.

Great breakfast sandwiches! A croissant with a couple eggs, bacon and cheese, plus a fresh-squeezed OJ equals one heck of a tasty breakfast!

We walked here from one of the surrounding residential neighborhoods for lunch one Monday afternoon, and really enjoyed our food here. Since there are so few options in the area within walking distance, we were really happy to find out about this place! It looked like most of the people who worked in the hangars were calling their orders ahead and picking up, but our table service was friendly and timely. The fish taco wrap was pretty good, the onion rings were great, and the fresh-squeezed lemonade was delicious. Their caper sauce was really good, too… we got a bit on the side of a tuna sandwich. But as a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, I highly recommend you go grab one of their cookies. Large, but soft and gooey in the center and crispy on the edges, just like a good choc. chip ought to be. Hopefully demand will pick up and they’ll be able to open up on the weekends to better serve the residents, but for now they’re open M-F 8:30am-8:00pm.

I eat breakfast from here most weekdays, and I thoroughly enjoy it. They have a great white cheddar that really makes the breakfast croissant sandwich. Also staff is very friendly. Wait can be crazy during lunch — you should always call in your order, it will be ready by the time you get there. Prices are a bit high but pretty standard for Marin.

There food is ok, not great tasting or inexpensive, just ok. I am giving it a one star because after eating a BLT from here I started to feel super queasy. Later that night I got violent food poisoning. The vomiting took everything out of me, I was really sick for 72 hours after eating the sandwich. The doctor said it must have been the food handling, not washing hands after using the restroom. Disgusting! Not only that two fellow coworkers got sick as well. We all got food to go for lunch from café joel. Don’t eat here!

I felt it was worth a star’s upgrade for the friendly folks that man the place. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some of the breakfast items are okay but it’s by-and-large overpriced for an outfit of this kind. If you must eat there, I’d recommend, for breakfast, the«Hangar Omlette» that I usually have with scallions, mushrooms, and tomatoes as the stuffing. For lunch, I usually go for their«Spicy cajun-chicken sandwich»(without the jack-cheese) or the«Santa-Fe chicken wrap»

Not sure why the reviews are so harsh about Café Joel. True, it’s not all that nice and not all that great and the service isn’t all that good. Hmm…what was my point again?
