Blinds of Marin

We were promised blinds before Christmas, and got them by Valentine’s Day!
Rob from Blinds of Marin was a total sweetheart when selecting and ordering our Roman shades for multiple windows in our house. My wife and I were promised a 2 – 3 week delivery, which turned into a two month delivery. We needed them so our guests would have privacy in the rooms they were staying in over the holidays. We were very patient while the first month came and went, but when we pressed for a delivery date since Christmas was in a week, Rob was out and out rude, condescending and abusive, raising his voice, saying that we were not cooperative, that it was all the manufacturers fault, not his (which is not c completely true), and threatening to take us to make our lives miserable, taking us to court and collections if we even thought about canceling our order. When we finally got the shades installed, the installer came to the house with a cigarette in his mouth, didn’t clean up after himself, and got the shades dirty during installation. Rob is a horrible communicator, and frankly doesn’t deserve your business. DON’T give him yours. Blinds of Marin is expensive and the service is terrible.

I am only giving one star, since the woman, Sandi, who answers the phones is courteous and calls back. However, this company really sells their products hard. They misrepresent the functionality of thir shutters, blinds, and other window treatments. They told me the shutters I ordered would block 75−95% of the light, but when the were instaleld, I could still read bookds and write easily in the room. My kdis couldn’t sleep; it was so bright. Their solution was for me to buy more coverings-​blinds, to place under the shutters. After spending $ 3K for 5 windows, I jsut feel rippped off. They were slow as well. Lastly the installation job was horrible. the shutters don’t sit against the wall (their explanation is that the walls are uneven, despite being newly renovated, and other things laying flush against them), and they offered to try to fix them but then never did. The owner, Robb, who said he would help fix this, jsut tries to sell more products then disappears. I highly recommend staying away formt his company. Even though their prices may seem competitive within Marin, the workmanship, products, and attitude are horrible and will cost you more in the end. there is no satisfaction guarantee, so you are stuck with whatever you get, no matter how poorly installed or how well they serve your purposes. Terrible business practices!
