Been going here for over 6 years. Never a single problem. Same cute cashiers. They recently started playing music from this decade so that’s a huge plus. I eat a sandwich from here 3x a week and it’s been a lovely experience. I’ve won the guess_​the_​weight thing a couple times, just guess between 5.50 and 7.50. You’ll win if you go enough!

24 hours I guess that’s a good thing if I lived near by.
Made my own sandwich. If I guess right its free. I guess $ 7.35 and it was $ 9.80. I lost.
Meat, cheeses and bread is nothing special. Normal stuff. Safeway bread and sandwich is much better and has super deals like $ 4 sandwich and $ 1 drinks.
I came here because I was on this side of the freeway and went to Shell gas next door and needed some lunch.

the meat that famous deli uses so you can make custom sandwiches is the lowest graded cut, its horrible. So the owner can save money, the prices are getting jacked up for just about everything in the store. another issue is the fact that they have rat traps over by the bathrooms where customers are trafficking though, its ridiculous. if your a regular or your on here for some reason reading this, I recommend to not even bother with the place.

Alco’s is pretty cool. You literally make your own custom sandwich & the price is based upon its weight. There is a full meat, cheese, veggie, & condiment bar.
And the best part is… if you guess the price of your sandwich correctly, you get it FREE!

I think if you asked ANY college student living in Marin County «What’s open at _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​hour after 9pm?» they would most likely respond in uproarious laughter. When I went to college in Marin I made it a point to research ANYTHING open later than 9pm I made it an insane goal, nay mission, to find anything else other than Denny’s or the 24 hour Safeway. Luckily I was able to find it at Alco’s Famous Market, Deli & Bakery in Novato.
This establishment can be seen off Highway 101 in Novato, especially with it’s NEON yellow sign advertising it to be a 24 HOUR DELI.
Two amazing things to highlight about this place:
1. It’s a FULL service serve yourself deli bar! Multiple meats, cheese, veggies, condiments, and breads to choose from!
2. You pay by the ounce/​lb. of the weight of the sandwich. ALSO, when you pay for the sandwich at the counter if you guess the weight EXACTLY (lbs, ounces) then you get the sandwich for FREE!
Now FREE is a price that fits EVERY college students budget!

This place is a rather unassuming deli on a frontage road off of Highway 101 in Novato. However follow me as a create a word picture and you shall see why this place is excellent.
Have you ever ordered yourself a sandwich and thought, «This is pretty good but given the proper supplies and circumstances I could do a better job.» Well here you can put your money where your mouth is with a build your own sandwich bar!
You can go to town and put whatever you want on your sandwich and no one will judge you or question you. Do you want peanut butter and turkey? What about 4 different types of cheese and dijon mustard? The world is your oyster. They charge you based on the weight of the sandwich but if you guess the exact weight you get the sandwich for free. How cool is that?
Now there is no need to drop what you’re doing and head on over but this place gets four stars from me for creativity and letting me take my sandwich destiny into my own hands.
