Cooking demonstrations where audience participation is encouraged and fondling of their herb garden doesn’t faze them? J’adore! I only wish Langlois hadn’t been out of their«Decadent With No Apologies» t-shirts… I’m picturing purple aprons and oven mitts in the future, yes? All the boring prep stuff was done for us; I’m sure a knife skills option is an obscene liability issue anyways! Mimosas kept spirits high as we took turns assisting in the ever friendly Chef Jodie and Chef Emily. Our infinite questions and jokes were met with good humor and patience. Light charcuterie and brown sugar simple syrup rounded out our delicate breakfast– eating our own creations: totally rewarding. Met some baller Unilocalers from all over, and we had a wide range of stove experience across the roster. Mad props to the one who bought her own spot instead of writing slutty haikus to gain entry. Thanks, Joi B! Amazing experience. Crêpe-flipping ninja, OUT.

Super awesome, super exclusive YEE at Langlois Culinary Crossroads! How awesome? How about 3 hours of hands-on cooking instruction with tons of: pointers, useful info, interesting historical backstory of the Langlois name & fun throughout. Our chef instructors were extremely knowledgeable, skilled, engaging & entertaining. Best of all, we all got to eat what we helped make & it was good! How exclusive? This YEE was listed as having only 6 openings(though I think our class was 7, did someone crash?). Needless to say, I am profoundly grateful for being 1 of the very lucky few in attendance. Thank you so much Joi B. & Langlois Culinary Crossroads for this truly special experience. It was certainly something I would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans. BTW, damn Michelangelo S., you are a Unilocaling savage! I’m still playing catch up on my YSB reviews & you cranked out the FTR the same day as the YEE. Well played, sir.

Cajun Cooking Class Is Right Up My Alley! Oh Yum! SITREP! Thanks to New Orleans Community Manger(CM) Joi B., she got me into a very coveted cooking glass at the Langlois Culinary Crossroads Cooking Institute. As Joi B. shares in the event information: «Some New Orleans visitors take home Mardi Gras beads, souvenir cups, and trinkets from the French Market; others buy art from the galleries on Royal Street. If you’re here, it’s because you’re interested in one of the city’s greatest gifts: our uniquely delicious cuisine.» And boy did I count myself lucky amongst five(5) other Elite Unilocalers who we all joined in together in a fun and lively three(3) — hour cooking session. THESETUP With Langlois Culinary Crossroads, it’s NOT just watching a video class, nor just sharing recipes: we were actively involved in an entertaining and interactive culinary experience where guided by Chefs Jodie & Emily, we got to partake in the brunch meal that we created with their guidance. THEEXPERIENCE Each of us students got to take an active part from preparing the hash of sausage, sweet potatos, whole garlic cloves and shallots, in making each crêpe, in making the lemon curd to go into the crêpe, in making the macerated blueberry sauced that would on the crêpe. Each activity was a delightful step in this cooking process and one that I will remember and recreate at home. THELOWDOWN A fantastic culinary experience I hope to recreate again!
