WHOO if I told you this wasn’t a hippin hoppi-nin party I’d be pullin yer leg, once again an excellent effort by Morgan! Filled with arts n crafts at the adult level which really left me with my head scratchin but everything was okay because the staff of Maison were friendly and knowledgeable about where to hot glue feathers, sequins, butterflies, stars, etc. Oceana provided us with some sort of crawfish ball in a DELICIOUS crawfish sauce(I’m a huge sauce person, wish I could have brought some of this home to share with my momma but I ate-ded them all lol) Jamba Juice brought two brand new juices that us Unilocalers were the first to try! Aren’t we special? One was(super greens?) and the other was(ginger greens?). I was skeptical of the ginger one especially since I make my own juice at home and ginger usually leaves a very strong aftertaste however I was pleasantly surprised when both were absolutely delicious! The ginger wasn’t overpowering it was more of an aftertaste. Sucre was nice enough to provide us with king cake! While I wasn’t a fan of it’s layers of buttery pastry(I know, crazy right?) I know that it was well received and unique. When I think of king cake I don’t think of a buttery pastry I think of a cinnamon dough with sprinkles on top, I’d liken the dough to a croissant. Definitely a crowd pleaser, can’t imagine anybody in their right mind not enjoying it’s buttery goodness lol. The ladies of Maison were friendly and accommodating. One of the hairdressers put my hair in a beautiful braid updo. Got home and looked at it, it was extremely well done! I plan to stop by and have them play in my hair some more lol.

This was a fun event. The girl who gave me a bit of a ‘do was very sweet and did a great job. The king cat from Sucre was delicious as were the drinks and the crab balls. I admit I am not crafty but loved seeing what everyone else came up with.

Y’all crafting stresses me out but I knew my friend would be all over the craftiness and so I clicked I’m in. And I’m really glad I went. Yummy snacks from Oceana, yummy drinks from Bols & Jamba Juice. Amazing massages from Ashley over at Atlantis, Sucre king cake and all the craft supplies! The staff of the Maison were lovely and fun. And the space is great. If I worked in the CBD, I’d definitely pop-in for some tress maintenance. And my friend actually helped me craft a headband(see my pic) and I’m so proud. Thanks for a fun & different event, Morgan!

5 times 5 Stars. Morgan– This was SOSUPERSUPERSUPERFUN! When the event was announced, I thought it was such a fantastic idea. I had so much fun seeing everyone’s creativity — and the finished items were all exquisite! Nicole was great and patient in showing us how to get the look we were seeking. The piña colada was great, the king cake oh so delish, the fruit-infused water; EVERYTHING. I have my super diva-liscious tiara and my sequined shades to sport during Mardi Gras. Morgan, you are literally — THE. BEST. Thank you for all you do!

What a fun event! I honestly didn’t expect to have a great time at this event. I have no hair, nor any interest in hair. But I got to make some sweet sunglasses, and was peer-pressured into making a mohawk dragonhead by Davis. Lemme just say that I will proudly wear that dragonhead this MG season! The refreshments were top-notch as well. I love me some piña colada, and @geneverfever made a good one. Also NOT a vodka fan, but that king-cake drink was pretty damn good too. And ooooooohh that crawfish sauce! Didn’t even need the crab balls that sauce was so good. And that massage. Ash was rough, but I like it rough. Felt great. Keep up the good work, Morgan!

Crafting and cocktails and massages and king cake!!! If that isn’t enough to get one carnival ready, I don’t know what is! First, drinks! The star of the bar, Bols Natural Yoghurt Liqueur, was a hit. #geneverfever nailed it with two amazing drinks, the Skinny Colada and the Have Your(King) Cake and Eat It Too. Tasty tasty! Two lovely ladies from Oceana were dishing out some fabulous crab balls with crawfish cream sauce. I think I need to make a reservation soon!!! Jamba Juice provided some fresh and tasty smoothie samples that really hit the spot. With food and drink out of the way, it was time to do some serious crafting. The large spread of feathers, beads, flowers, butterflies, fringe, and even birds opened up the floodgates for some serious creativity! Tiaras, headbands, hair combs, sunglasses, even a dinosaur head were all readily awaiting adornment fit for carnival season. With the help of amazing women of Maison de Cheveux as master headdress designers, everyone was able to make brilliant works of art… even the fellas were rockin’ feathers and fringe! Sucre provided a couple of their delicious traditional king cakes, which totally lived up to the hype! I totally get why they are so wildly popular. As we all worked at perfecting our parade-worthy pieces, Ashley from Spa Atlantis was on standby with her massage chair, kneading out the stress and kinks. And as if that wasn’t enough fun in one evening, the incredibly talented hairstylists of Maison de Cheveux showed us fun ideas to transform our locks from parade appropriate to ball beautiful! A special thanks to Joshua for all of the fun photographs taken of the event and with Marge, Penny and her sweet gals for being such wonderful hosts, and Morgan, for yet another incredible event!

Ohhh Gurl… I went and got my hair did at this event. It looks so purty now. Id like to personally thank Morgan for being such a good host. MdC for providing such a glorious location. Bols for letting me drink out of the bottles. Oceana for letting me eat out of the catering containers. And Dr. Josh for taking pictures of my good side(he knows how to make me smile).
