I attended this show with my girlfriend and her two teenage daughters, which had me worried because they have the attention span of a houseplant. Much to my surprise however, not once did I see a cell phone come out, nor a text written or even a tweet sent. In fact the only time the phone was seen was when the oldest girl was taking pictures of Shamar Allen! I can’t give a better review than that because if a show about 50’s music can hold the attention of two teenage girls then saying Walking to New Orleans is a hit is the understatement of the year. From my stand point this is one of the best shows I have ever seen. The music is outstanding, the musicians are some of the best I have seen and the entertainment value is worth 10 times what we paid for our tickets. The finale was the best! A New Orleans second line through the audience, Mardi Gras indians and trumpet players rolling on the ground… ASNEWORLEANSASITGETS !!

Having had the opportunity to attend the première of the show, I must say I could not have been more impressed. Al «Lil Fats» Jackson and Shamarr Allen are perfectly cast and deliver outstanding performances of songs we all know and love. Aside from the couple«first live audience» miscues(barely noticeable to an untrained eye and that will naturally be worked out in future performances), the show was spot on and a fitting(long past due) tribute to two of New Orleans greatest living musical Legends. … And I know with time the show will only get better and better.
