Went here for karaōke and had an unpleasant experience. Namely, the«master of ceremonies» sang the whole time because he thought that his unpleasant caterwauling would draw in more patrons from outside. As a consequence, my friends and I, who are delightful and love to have a good time on the mic, were left standing awkwardly waiting for our turn, which ultimately never came. We waited over an hour to sing. Not even on a busy night. Shame Voodoo Vibe, shame. Avoid if you want to have fun and sing some songs.

Horrible music, obnoxious ghetto staff. Drinks tasted like mildew. The band seemed like they were trying to cover up their sloppy performance by playing at a deafening volume. Besides that the place is really cramped stuffy and smells like pee.

Come in for the 3 for 1 drinks and stay in to watch the 2 douchiest security guards in the world work their magic. These two tools were dressed like military contractors that just returned from Iraq. Armed with handcuffs and batons they literally would scale up and down the front of the building. Cop wannabes for sure, and one dumber the next. Other than that, a great bar/lounge and a welcome respite from the 3,000 Daiquiri bars that NO seems to have these days. Very pushy shot girls, but not so pushy that I wouldn’t return. Great service at the bar.

No matter where we started the evening on Bourbon Street, we always ended up at Voodoo Vibe at the end of the night. Great live band and 3 for 1 drinks that were actually affordable. Wonderful hostess and a fun crowd. The only thing that I could have done without was the shot girls trying to force shot tubes into your mouth every 10 minutes. If not for this, I would gladly give the 5 stars.

Many of the bars on bourbon street are similar and play the same music. However this place allows you to bring your drinks in with you and listen to the music. They have 3 for 1 drink specials. Awesome deal! Loved the fact they were playing Cajun music as opposed to 90’s pop like the other bars. Very fun place!

Maybe I was here on a bad night. They advertised 3 for 1 drinks — I don’t know what that meant unless the drinks are usually $ 30.00 each — the drinks we’re $ 10.00 each. No biggie but not 3 for one. There were really skanky girls pushing shots — I get it, I’ve seen the shot girls but these ones were icky. Bellies hanging out, hanging on male customers(we even saw a few men get scared away). I felt like they were selling more than shots. We left when a drunken brawl broke out, the shot girls we’re even yelling at each other. Weird vibe. Again, maybe a bad night?

Live music, nice bartender and 3 for 1 drinks makes this a great place to just chill on Bourbon Street and a little away from all the craziness.

After a catered evening event at the Wax Museum, we headed out into a torrential downpour. After taking refuge at the Famous Door, we wanted to move on. The band was awesome so we ducked in out of the rain… no cover and we could bring in our drinks. We stayed a long time because the band was so good and have everyone up dancing. Even though we were soaked to the bone, we had a great time there and will hit this place up again on the next NOLA trip!

voodoo vibe was a total a+ stand-out LOUNGE late nite we were drawn in by their 3 for 1 deal while most other bars had cut theirs off… downstairs was crazy packed so we decided to give the second floor a chance when lo and behold it was fucking gorgeous and we pretty much had it to ourselves im not sure the bartender was old enough to be slingin booze but he kindly played along with my antagonizing drunken remarks they have a sturdy balcony that i felt comfortable standin out on for quite some time and enjoying the madness of bourbon st from above it was all 90s alterna upstairs which i totally dont mind but i kinda wish they would feed the live music from downstairs

Little do the people know when they amble in for the three for one drinks that they are experiencing one of the world’s greatest fiddle players. Waylon Thibodeaux and band are hands down, one of the most fantastic Cajun– Zydeco –Dance bands on the planet. If you’d stop and pay a little attention and listen, you will here lots of Cajun staples as well as great stuff written by Waylon himself. Anyone and everyone in South La. knows these guys and how fantastic they are. Shame on the owner for not putting a sign out front promoting him!

Small, trendy venue on Bourbon. They have excellent live music that will draw you in from the street. There are two bars in the property one to the right and one near the back of the building. In front of the band, there is an open area and 4 tables. There is also seating near the bars around the outside rear of the establishment. There are also restrooms at the back of the bar that are satisfactory. Like many other locations on Bourbon, there are good deals during happy hours. During one of our visits beers were 2 for 1.

Voodoo Vibe is a smaller venue to catch a band, but that’s what I love about it. The band that was playing was really good. I never knew this place existed, but who can resist a good cover of the Violet Femmes? So the music hooked us and the staff was friendly less aggressive than other doormen/shot girls on Bourbon. It’s a good place to chill and catch a good band based on all the reviews. The fact that it’s a smaller venue works for this place, because it’s a similar scene as Famous Door or BBC, but alot easier to take in.

This place drew us in because of the band and the 3 for 1 drinks. Three beers for the price of one($ 6.25) or three shots in your drink. It was a nice place to chill and relax. Not too crowded on the night we went. The band was super nice and friendly. They let a couple of girls get onto stage with them to sing and play the drums. They joked around with us for trying to leave before they finished their last song.

Is there anything more depressing than elderly strippers? Before you answer, you should know that there isn’t. And if you are unfortunate enough to mistakenly encounter women of grandparent age who are still removing their clothing for a living somewhere in the French Quarter, you’re probably going to need a drink. You’re in luck, because Voodoo Vibe has $ 3 shots. Shockingly, this promotion is not limited to the test tubes of juice that future elderly strippers try to shove down your throat everywhere on Bourbon Street, but it also extends to DONJULIO(and it seems, everything else). So yeah, we stayed for four shots each. Don’t judge me. They were a bit watered down, as our overeager bartender insisted on chilling them, but you can’t argue with $ 3 shots of Don Julio, even if the limes were dried out like an old woman’s…face. Also, the hilarity was unmatched. The karaōke MC was doing his best to get the crowd moving, and whenever the crowd moved, it fell on its face. Literally. I saw at least four people do a faceplant. Good times.
