This place is amazing. The AC and the music are pumping at high volumes and the drinks are strong! NOLA!!! I would suggest visiting this place if you’re on Frenchman! Beautiful woman, beautiful environment and the love is in the air!

I see that a lot of the bad reviews here are for the food. Luckily, I only stopped by while walking down Frenchmen because the band sounded like they were the best on the block. Everyone inside was dancing and having a good time. There were chairs set up on the sidewalk so you could smoke, drink and enjoy from there. No cover either!

I dont think ive ever given one star but this place is a disaster. No soap, no service. Bartenders were hammered at 8 pm. Smelled awful. We had to leave bc we were literally scared to eat here. Unfortunate.

The star is reflective of the service at this establishment. Pretty much everything about this spot is terrible. Sat down at a table and had the waiter pass by 3 times without coming over to even give us a menu. I finally waved her down and she proceeded to put her hand up as if to say«1 minute». And coming by a 4th time she still had not approached us so we made our way to the bar where I had to wait another 10 minutes before I could finally place my order. I asked the bartender if I could place an order with him and he said«yes give me a minute» and went around the bar taking everyone and their mommas drink order before finally looked my way and I called him over again. The only reason I stayed was because of how hungry we were and how late it was. And I really wanted to try their hot wings. Their hot wings were ok. Definitely not worth the crappy service I endured. I do not recommend this spot. The live jazz band is also okay but again. Not worth the terrible service.

If you want a place with quality food, do not come here. The service was spotty at best, and took 30 minutes to get our meal. The meal was terrible — I had a quesadilla and it was greasy, soggy and unappealing. There was no drink menu, and the music was so loud you couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you. If you are coming here for the music, you might be happy. Do not come here for the food.

We have been here twice. Mixed experiences. They have a food menu, and the chargrilled oyster were great on our first visit. We sat at the bar the 2nd time, and the bartender was the most apathetic person I have ever encountered in NOLA. It was as though it was an effort to sigh. This is a second– or third-tier club. They will likely not have anyone you have heard of, but they also do not seem to charge a cover. Although you may not have heard of the band playing, you will likely still hear some great music because even the third-tier bands here are amazing. They do not have much seating, and the seating they do have is very uncomfortable. There is a lot of open floor space that could pass for a dance floor — an odd accoutrement in a joint like this. Truth be told, I don’t dislike this place, but as Frenchman Street goes, it is only worth a stop if you hear some really good music or every other place is packed. Oh, and stick to real drinks. Their menu stuff sucks.

Drinks are OK, the band was awesome, but the bathroom was gross(not clean and none of the doors locked) plus there was absolutely no reason to have an attendant in such a space(she was very nice though). It’s an OK place to grab a drink and catch a show if you are in the area.

Slow service, average food for a long. One redeeming qualities are great dance venue and music playing.

This many stars is for how well the band played and bread pudding, other wise everything les was 1 to none stars… Had a BLAST listening the olé bras n jazz group play! They were very talented and interactive with the crowd. The atmosphere was laid back and open, no wait staff the time frame we went but there was a bar tender and someone picking up the trash off the table. We got the bread pudding(astronomical), catfish(small serving size but delectable), and nacho fries(greasy perfection). Unfortunately some of the bar staff was not attentive to the customers. One woman had earphones in while she was working. While the other guys was trying to play catch up on the orders. Then the girl picking up the tables was not friendly, it was evident that she didn’t want to be there. Then the bath rooms were 7th level of Hell! Completely unkept, filthy and ratchet. If I were you I would hold it, because every toilet was clogged with the toilet paper that would have been nice to use… If this place could get its act together this would be one of the best places to hang in the quarter

I always get a little frustrated with bars that have a bathroom attendant. I’ve been washing and drying my hands for 20+ years and can manage to do it myself. I always feel obligated to tip but rarely have cash on me, thus, leaving me to feel like a jerk. This place has a large dance area and stage and was super busy on a weekend night(go figure). The band that played was super talented and we were able to snag a booth right next to them. Good place to come, have a beer, and chill.

I’d like to file Vaso into several familiar categories: 1. Bars where I’m baffled that they employ a bathroom attendant. 2. Bars where they pour stiff drinks. 3. Bars you might be able to get into without getting carded because there’s [occasionally] no one at the door.(Not that you are with anyone underage, it’s just that your wife got her wallet stolen at the last bar, and now she can’t get in anywhere with a better band playing.) Also, Vaso is the only bar I’m aware of that fits into the following category: 1. Bars where I’ve seen jazz covers of some of Kurt Cobain’s finest songs, and liked them.

Me and 4 people popped in on a Saturday night. It was one of the few places on frenchman street that had a table open where we could sit and seemed to be serving food. One of the peeps in our group asked the bartender if we order with her or if we have a server. She told us someone would be by shortly. They had a live band playing blues that sounded pretty good. After about a solid 20 minutes of no one coming to our table or any other table in our area we walked out. Maybe you’ll have a better experience if you can snag a seat at the bar and are just looking for a drink and to listen to music, but dont expect any service at the tables.

They are tremendously understaffed. There were only two waitresses for the entire establishment, and one of them was also cooking. The tables weren’t cleaned off, I had to do it myself. We weren’t given a menu until 30 minutes later and food took an hour to come. Even paying for our food took 30 additional minutes. The long wait wouldn’t have been too bad if the band wasn’t screaming in the mic. My head hurts. The band is great — but they should stick to instruments and not singing. The bathrooms are horrific! You also need tickets to use it — which requires you to buy something first. So you may be waiting 45 minutes to even have the opportunity to make a purchase.

(Visited on 12÷18÷15) The only reason this got 4 stars is because the place was a little too dim and the restroom was. Other than that, the bands playing were LIVE and had me rocking and bopping. The food was absolutely exquisite. Since they were the first place I ever tasted charbroiled oysters, I do not yet have a basis for comparison; but they were tasty. It was one of those hole-in-the-wall type joints that will surprise the hell out of you. oh, ohhhh, the Oatmeal Cookie cocktail… My Good Lawd it was the most orgasmic treat I have had in a very long time. I honestly believe that it cannot be out done by any other establishment. It was like the cookie itself, but turned into pure liquid joy. I kid you not, the drink made my heart sing. I’ll be back.

Came here on a Sunday early evening to hopefully watch some football on TV while enjoying some live music. Very disappointing. For one, we were seated at an area, but then requested we could move to a table with a closer TV. We overheard our first server getting really annoyed at the second server because she lost our table. Very unprofessional. The food was plain, and worse it was cold. The gumbo was basically room temperature. When I asked what kind of bourbon they had, our server started rattling off names of… whiskeys. The TVs were also pretty bad quality. Hardly HD(or even close to it). Wouldn’t come back.

Great food, all tapas and decent sizes to share… Reasonably priced. Loved the type of patrons that came in: educated & fun. The band was amazing. Played Reggae funk. If in the area I’d definitely come again. Loved this place.

I love this place! No cover, you just pop in order a few drinks find a seat and listen to some great music. Every band we watched was enjoyable its surprising that there isn’t a cover, be sure to put some cash in the tip jar for the band! Also, get up and dance, the music is great but only women were dancing, guys dance with your women and have some fun, who cares if you cant dance, the music is too great to sit still to.
