Twin Brother’s Construction

I’ve waited a long time to write this review… I wanted to give Twin Brothers (i.e. Carlos) a chance to finish the work I paid for, but it has been about a year and I hold no hope now. I originally selected Carlos because he had a couple of promising reviews that seemed legit, but now I’m not so sure. I had some water damage due to a leaky shower. I decided to have Carlos repair and renovate the affected area. His bid was reasonable and I have to admit that he did the bid very quickly. The demolition happened shortly after but I had to wait on a plumber to come and repair the shower valves. I’ll be the first to admit that the early delay was not Carlos’ fault as I had trouble getting a plumber to do the repair. Once all that was done, however, it was a nightmare to get Carlos to come finish the job. He was working another kitchen project for someone else and it seemed to always come first. He kept saying he was «under contract» to finish it which made me feel less important to him. I had to constantly call him to come. He made promise after promise to ultimately not show up, wasting many of my vacation days. I even ended up doing some of the work I had commissioned him to do myself (mostly simple stuff) just to avoid further delays and excuses from him. Putting aside how long it took him to get things done, his tiling work was pretty high quality, but the rest of his work was sub-​par. For example, he said he was going to bondo some MDF he was repairing to help seal it. He said you wouldn’t even be able to tell it had water damage. A week after the work was done it was already looking terrible again. Finally, part of the job was supposed to be repairing some dry rot on the exterior of the house. I made the mistake of paying him the full fee (my fault — I was just so elated that the interior work was done) with an agreement he would finish the exterior later. (Stupid, I know.) I’ve reached out to Carlos a dozen times since — he always promises to finish it but I’m done waiting.
Don’t waste your time and money with this guy.

Every homeowner who isn’t an avid ‘do it yourself’ –er need ‘a guy’ to call on for home projects critical and cosmetic. Carlos at Twin Bros has been ‘our guy’ for more years than I care to count! Whether it’s an emergency (kids make a hole in bedroom wall) or updates (bathroom floor tile, new backsplash in kitchen, recarpet living room), Carlos has been on the scene with great work at a competitive price. He is a great communicator (answers questions clearly, provides options, gives updates) and a great craftsman. He also adds value with color or pattern options we may not have considered. Over the course of half a dozen projects we have never been anything but pleased with results. I’d love to keep him a secret but that’s not fair play. Make Carlos your ‘guy’ and make home remodel and repair much easier!

I contacted Carlos for a few different projects to bid.
Ultimately we started with Fence repair and rebuilding a large swing gate and fence door.
Carlos was great and listened to all of our requirements needed. He explained everything he would do for each part of the repair and build. He was easy to communicate via email and responded very quickly.
We are very happy with the new swing gate, door and fence repair. He would give us checkpoints to let us provide feeback and how the operation of the gate worked. (I wanted it fairly easy so my younger kids could open) Carlos would make the adjustments and paid attention to the details.
He is also bidding on some other internal projects such as tiling our kitchen back splash and we will probably use him for that project based on his work above.
Defintely would recommend him and wouldn’t hurt to call him to at least review and bid on your next project.
