The atmosphere is great. Dinner was very good. Person in group had a special request and it was met. Wait staff was attentive and prompt.

Pretty neat venue. Only been here once. Food isn’t anything great but the service is pretty good, as is the bar service.

I really like the space but the sound is pretty terrible. I imagine that if they threw the sound on the bigger tower speakers it would be fine but the other day it sounded like they only had the sound coming from amps and the bands monitors. The only redeeming factor is that they have 24oz beers. Looks strange but perhaps that’s why no one else thought the sound was horrible.

I had an amazing time seeing some great bands here. I had never been here before. It is just the right size for an intimate show. The Bloody Mary was delicious and the workers were so nice and helpful… Supposed to be no in and out, but I forgot something in my car, and they let me go get it. That was great. The best part is that bc the venue is small, the bands hang out after the show. I got to take pics with BALLYHOO! And, I got their autographs on the merchandise I bought. I will definitely be back!!!

Meet the HOB’s kid sister, The Parish. :) I’ve been to a few different shows/events here, and I really do like the space. The stage is low, so you feel like you’re at a fancy house party that booked a really cool, yet-to-be-known band. I kick myself for some of the shows I missed, that now play at big brother HOB when they come through. Check their listings regularly and even if a band’s unfamiliar, if you like the jam it’s worth the reasonable ticket price since they might make it big. Couple of suggestions: the temperature, depending on how packed they get, fluctuates pretty drastically so bring ya sweater if you get cold like me. Fake a lame foot so you can ride the elevator, it’s super spiffy.

I’ve seen countless shows at the main stage in the House of Blues, and it’s a great sized venue, but if you want a really intimate experience the Parish room is the way to go. What it lacks in size it makes up in great acts. This is a great venue for smaller, more«independent» bands and really gives you the feel of hanging out with the act. The bar is the same as downstairs, so you won’t be missing out on drinks. I’ve noticed that the Parish has more all ages shows than the main stage, which is good and bad. Lastly, I’ve never been to a show in Parish room that allowed smoking, but then again I haven’t seen a band that allowed smoking in a couple of years now. Overall, it’s a great venue, if «intimate»(that is, small) and a good spot to see smaller bands.

This is the best venue to see music at the House of Blues. They have it set up for standing room only for most shows so there usually is nowhere to sit. You get a much better music experience here than you do in the HOB’s main stage. Some of the best shows I’ve seen in recent years have been here. The drink prices are the same as in HOB and generally make me less than happy.

This is my preferred location to see a band at HoB. It’s the smaller upstairs venue. The space reminds me of some of the clubs that used to be around NOLA in the 80s. So I guess I’m saying it feels much less corporate than downstairs. Same drink prices, same smoke but a bit more intimate. Again don’t expect fancy drinks nor apparently draft beer(I’m not a beer drinker so I’m kind of oblivious).

This is the smaller venue located directly above House of Blues. The setting is slightly more intimate than the large floor downstairs, and they book slightly more independent acts. I have seen The Antlers and, more recently, El-P, Killer Mike, and Mr. Motherfuckin’ eXquire here. My major complaint here is sound. While the acoustics are alright, I have seen sound guys be totally inattentive and literally WALKAWAY from the board during someone’s set. THISISONEHOUROFYOURLIFEANDYOU’REBEINGPAIDFORIT, GODDAMMIT. El-P brought his own sound guy, but the mixing during his set was wayyy off, causing some guy behind me to scream, «THESOUNDSUCKS, FIXIT.» Structural columns cause many less than advantageous places to stand and see and act. Drinks are somewhat overpriced: $ 5 for a Modelo? That’s the Mexican equivalent of Schlitz. Thankfully, there were $ 6 tallboys of High Life…

This is an alright venue! I’ve gotta say, i was way more impressed with it when i first walked in than i was after being here for an hour… It looks pretty damn cool and the bar is beautiful, but i prior to arriving i had a busy day on my feet and was hoping to take a load off before the headliner… but there were no tables or chairs anywhere! I kinda expect there to be at least a few seats at any given venue! I still had fun, but i probably would have raged a lot harder if i didn’t feel like such an old lady with mega sore feet! Still though, the acoustics were awesome! Definitely a place where if you’re stoked on seeing a band, you’ve gotta show up early! I’m a shortie, but i’d already seen the band play before so i wasn’t too bummed about not being able to see much, but if i go back to see a band i’m super excited for i’m definitely wearing some platforms! Drink prices were so-so. If you’re drinking beers it’s alright, but my bf and i chose to save some money and save the more serious drinking for after the show at a few cheaper places nearby. Still, the bartenders were nice and fast, plus the venue was pretty cool, so i’d be back!

I love this venue, because it’s small and allows you to really connect with the performer. I’ve been here twice and have enjoyed it both. It standing room only, but it doesn’t feel claustrophobic, just be sure to where comfortable shoes. The aoustics are good, which is what I care about and why I give this venue four stars. The bar is good for the size of the venue and the bartenders are personable and quick… no draft beer and limited bottled beer offerings, but you won’t go thirsty, trust me. The Parish Room is an intimite venue and is great if you’re not about catching your live music with 10,000+ peeps.

It’s a venue on the smaller side. The room itself has a lot of character, but you definitely have to pick just the right spot to stand– in some spots it’s hard to see the whole stage, or you’re close enough to the bar to where you can hear the conversation next to you better than the performer. Not a horrible venue, but not the best, either.
