Shannon is fabulous and called her friend to bring over authentic vintage glasses. We bought six pairs and they are incredible. Go here now!

I bought a fantastic pair of vintage eyeglasses here in October on a whim. The 2 women working in the store were fantastic and very patient with me as I tried on dozens of pairs of «cat eye» frames and helped me to make my final decision. Am about to have lenses put in. My optometrist was surprised to see«made in the USA» stamped on the frame! Another plus, tons of interesting artwork for my husband to look at while patiently waiting for me!

Amazing. This small shop in the French quarter is amazing. I bought a shirt there over a year ago and came back and Shannon totally remembered me when I walked in. Great local art work, friendly, amazing service. Totally stop here when you’re in Nola.

This gallery is what I want the interior of my home to look like. Weird scary-cute folk art and strange art dolls. Dig it.

The Green Eyed Gator is straight up RIDIKALOUS. The owner, Shannon, is so fun(not to mention BEAUTIFUL!) and her store is full of eclectic artists from all over the city. Shannon was a Jackson Square artist before she moved on up to the East Side of the Square(get it?! The Jeffersons?! whatever.) and opened the GEG where Ragin’ Daisy used to be. Let’s be clear about something before we move on: I LOVEDRAGIN’ DAISY. Ain’t no place better for affordable sunglasses and fab vintage finds that never fit me that well but I BOUGHTTHEMANYWAYDAMMIT. I was sad(and skeptical) to see them go because they kept assuring the Green Eyed Gator would be just as glorious and let me just say: It is! I’ve got four words that are about to revolutionize your life: box. of. wine. purses. That’s right, ladies, you can now tour-de-franzia in style– it holds ALL my stuff– and I keep a lot of crap in my purse, is super well made and is MADEOUTOF A BOXOFWINE. What the actual what. It is awesome! The art in there is awesome and ranges from awesome monsters in real life to fun stuffed animals made of recycled materials. The green eyed gator also has SUPERAWESOME jewelry made by Oh My Clementine– we are talking baby arm earrings and video game controller necklaces and BUTTONBRACELETSTHATARESOCUTE I’M GONNADIE. There’s also some really awesome bedazzled gator heads in there that I cannot afford but will be in my Anthropologie dream house. Shannon and the GEG are awesome, y’all. That store is not to be missed, especially since it’s across from Trashy Diva, my all time number one place I wish I could steal everything from. Although the GEG may have just taken it’s place as my new favorite in the FQ!
