One of the greatest vegetarian food trucks around. Their food absolutely never disappoints. I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve had the pleasure of being in their new restaurant 1000 figs which is just as lovely. As a vegetarian in NOLA it can be hard to find really delicious food like this but Fat Falafel is always great. Last time I was here I had the falafel platter which is just the right amount of food for a hearty lunch. Everything tastes fresh and healthy and has the nutritional value and composition to keep me full for hours. Sometimes I get the fries and they are absolute heaven! Must try, esp. If you’re vegetarian!

I’ve been hearing great reviews about TFF and finally caught them on LSUHSC campus. I ordered the Falafel Platter to enjoy a sample of their goodness. The entire platter was filled with vibrant colors which was a mood booster for me. There’s a nice amount of heat with the oil on the hummus and the pita bread held up the large portions. The greens has a wonderful tasting vinegar twang that complimented their sauces very well. I would definitely recommend TFF to friends and I will be back for that platter!

Best Falafel wrap I’ve had. Excellent fries, and the side of roasted Brussel Sprouts was equally good. The truck was in front of Tulane hospital.

By far the best damn falafel in town. Comparable to the best I’ve ever had(and I’ve spent significant amounts of time living in the Middle East).

I had The Fat Falafel food truck cater my wedding in June and it was the greatest decision I made short of the man I chose to marry that day. No. Actually, I would also marry this food truck. It will be a weird polygamy thing and I will have no regrets. The owner Theresa was so nice and helpful and accommodating to our vegan whims. She created this peach and blueberry crisp with coconut whip that made me so glad we didn’t get a wedding cake. They drove right up to the tree of life where our ceremony was and made our picnic reception so easy! It was fun for our guests and they even let us bring our own plates and silverware so it was(mostly) waste free. I am very happy that in in the future my mom will say things like, «It was a beautiful ceremony but oh my lord remember that baba ganoush!». The food is just so delicious! I live in portland«the land of food trucks» and Fat Falafel is best food truck I’ve ever been too. Thanks Fat Falafel!

I’ve only tried the falafel sandwich(add hummus) but those fries with garlic aioli were very tempting! I liked the pita, loved the root slaw and enjoyed the sauce. But… was there a hint of cinnamon in the falafel? If not, there was something I couldn’t identify and if there was, I didn’t like it. But it was my only quibble, well, that and also that it was messy and had so much garlic that I wanted to run home to my toothbrush immediately. In fact, after brushing my teeth and using industrial strength mouthwash, I could still taste it. So if you’re planning on being out the rest of the day/evening, proceed with caution!

Probably my favorite food truck in New Orleans. And there are a lot of good ones here, so that’s saying a lot! They keep it simple. You get your choice of falafel in a pita or falafel not in a pita, with or without fries. Get the fries. They top them with a garlicky sauce that is SOGOOD I find myself compulsively licking the bag they come in whenever I get them. No shame. None at all. The carrot/beet slaw is always so perfectly crisp and fresh. Everything they make is perfectly crisp and fresh. The falafel itself is exactly the way it should be — crisp-chewy on the outside, soft and seasoned on the inside. Perfect for lunch or dinner(or 1am or whenever, really) and generally healthier than most other to-go options around. They’re cheap(you can be well fed and then some for under 10 $), and they take credit cards, so don’t give me that«but I never carry cash on me!» bollocks.

I was skeptical because I’m not a huge falafel fan, however, the few bites that I had of my husbands fry falafel blew me away. The fries were fantastic. The perfect amount of greasy crispiness to satisfy the drunk or sober person’s craving. The garlic aioli was really good and the dressings made for a delightful side salad kind of thing. The flavors were fresh and delicious. The only thing that I’d change is the amount of garlic. I look forward to buying my own and trying other items. Luckily, we found out that it was a vegan dish after the fact because we probably wouldn’t have tried it. Just sayin.

There are other food trucks that I have yet to try. But this is my favorite thus far. So flavorful. And healthy. The combination of shredded carrots, red cabbage, tahini sauce, hummus, spices and basil leaves is heaven. Their falafel is so crispy and perfect. Definitively get the falafel sandwich and make sure you get it with hummus.

Yum! This is delicious, healthful food at a decent price. That’s damn near impossible to find in nola. I especially loved the slaw of beets and carrots. I will for sure be back.

Stopped by the truck last night for a quick dinner. Got the falafel sandwich and split someof the garlic fries with a friend. The falafel was fresh, delicious, huge and cheap. I loved it. The fries were meh. They seemed to have been fried twice with not much potato inside their crusty exterior, and although the garlic sauce was delicious it gave me a terrible headache and I have been burping up garlic for about 15 hours now. Next time I’m gonna stick to the sandwich. But if you are a huge garlic fan and don’t mind double fried fries, go for it. My dinner companion loved the fries so to each her own.

Innovative, healthy, and delicious, the black and white logo is gorgeous and the people are very friendly, while utterly professional. For the amount of time required andthe sourcing for the quality ingredients, the prices are incredibly low. I wish them the best and will stop by again if I am in New Orleans. Next business move: expand locations and add one truck to Chicago? ;)

Since The Fat Falafel punched me in the mouth with flavor and left me all alone and stunned, I’m going to return the favor. Do you like fresh food? Do you like an ethnic food party in your mouth? You like when your plate is as colorful as world pride fest? Are you a sauce addict? Garlic, mint, and spice tickle your fancy? Well, stop wasting your time reading this review and get your a$$ down to The Fat Falafel food truck. Get on your facebook, track them mothas down, and order that Falafel plate like your life hangs in the balance. I suggest catching them at Church Alley where you can eat inside with a nice beverage. The food doesn’t take too long and everyone is SUPER nice. Love, love, love. POWPOWPOW! Go on na, enjoy!

Orleans.period. Tuesdays will never be the same for me. Every Tuesday Fat Falafel parks just up the street from my house at Swirl Wines. I finally made to down there and was BLOWN away at the quality, the flavor and the price of such amazing vegetarian eats! I got the combo Falafel platter for $ 8. 3 Falafel, salad, hummus, pita, garlic sauce and root slaw. A-MAZ-ING!!! my friend got the Falafel sandwich(in a pita) for $ 5 and it was great, too! I’ll give you one guess at where I am having dinner next Tuesday night.

Just went to a $ 10 per plate pop up at Casa Borrega by Fat Falafel… this was so delicious. I mean… steal your neighbors plate awesome. I can’t wait to go back next month. It was Indian and Burmese … samosas, eggplant and shrimp curry… some kind of sesame seed salad and a mint sauce. This was Sooooo good. I want more now and it is like 3 hours later. Tons of food for $ 10 too. I followed them on twitter. Yup.

This food truck is falafel-y good! Yum! Visited twice during our trip to New Orleans. The fat sandwich is delicious and will fill you up but so big it’s tricky to eat! On our second visit enjoyed the platters and meatballs which were the night’s special. Don’t miss the fries with(vegan) garlic mayo.

Oh man where have you been! Had some grub from here today at the central city food truck round up. It was so damn good I had to come home and write a review. The falafel has a great flavor and is very crunchy. Oh and the fries… Perfect is the only way to describe them especially with the garlic sauce(and I usually don’t eat french fries). I have nothing bad to say about this place except I wish they were always parked right outside my front door! Oh well, I will just have to stumble across them when I do and put myself into a pita coma

Saw them the other day outside of Fair Grinds behind the race track. The fries with Tzaziki sauce looked excellent. The best Tzaziki I have seen in these parts, rich and thick.
