While in New Orleans this bar was the one we spent the most time at. All is takes is some really great music to pull you in and thats what happened. The band was fantastic. I even requested a few songs. They totally rocked it! For this girl to hop up and start dancing, it was great. Go check this place out!

We swung by here after having a hand grenade and some blizzards and a big ass beer on the street so we were thoroughly lubricated for the festivities all over. This is one of the places i actually remember from the night. The girl that was selling drinks was pretty hot and dancing to the point i was almost mesmerized and ignored the music and crowds lol. Truth be told — the music was pretty awesome the drinks were pretty cheap, and we just had a good time running around, dancing and flirting with the bartender chick.

Great bands playing 90 – 2000’s rock and DJ in between. Great time. Drinks a bit pricey and beer selection limited though.

After we spent almost $ 100 in drinks, AND tipped the bartender well(we always leave 20% if you’re curious), I asked her for a glass of ice water and change for a $ 20 so I could tip her. She rolled her eyes at me and very rudely stated, «if you want water, it’s $ 3.75 for a bottled water.» Then she walked away. During the first round we had been met with the same disgustingly curt and rude service for no reason whatsoever. I called her back and said, «M’am, we just spent $ 100 on drinks and I’m asking for change so I can tip you for the glass of water. I don’t understand why you’re being rude.» She leaned in and said, «Like I told you, it’s $ 3.75 for a bottle of water. If you don’t like it, you can leave.» Other customers who witnessed the humiliating exchange came over to divulge that they too had been treated just as badly by this bartender. I asked the barback for the manager, who at first couldn’t be bothered to come up to speak with one of his customers. I guess the barback must have conveyed to him that I wasn’t leaving until I spoke to him and he finally came up after 10 minutes. I explained the issue and he offered me the glass of water, telling me that he would speak with her after her shift. Honestly, I’m not sure that ever happened.(Please note the attached picture I took of the bartender so you know exactly who I’m talking about if you decide to go to this place despite my warning). See, this is the kind of place where shot girls sexually harass male patrons, even though it would be a felony if the sexes were reversed. A couple of my friends were groped and fondled in the most aggressive manner by their shot girl and all but had shots literally crammed down their throats despite their repeated«NO’s.» For any unsuspecting customers out there, please take note that once the shot girl gets her patrons to swallow their watered-down fruit drinks in test tubes, she turns on them and demands cash with all the friendliness wiped away from her soulless face. We left the place feeling sick to our stomachs at the rude, non-existent customer service and the sliminess of the people who work there. With so many places to choose from in New Orleans, there is simply no reason to offer your hard-earned money to be treated like garbage.

Like previous reviewers, I had a terrible experience here with a shot girl. She approached my group of all girl friends and offered a shot to one friend who declined. She then proceeded to force the test tube shot into my friend’s mouth, and demand money. When my friend refused she made statements like, «well, you took the shot,» and«you’re responsible for yourself.» What was a fun evening enjoying the live band turned into a huge argument as this shot girl continued to berate my friend. Out of frustration, another friend offered to pay for the shot and handed the shot girl $ 3 to which she said, «no, she took two you owe me $ 6,» which was untrue. I stepped in and defended my friend telling the shot girl her tactics were wrong, and that she should try these methods on people who were actually drunk and may not be bothered. She fired back that I had an attitude and to mind my business. Having paid her the $ 6 we decided to leave. When she realized she was losing the bar 5 customer’s business, she panicked and gave us the money back and tried to offer us «free» shots which we declined. There was no chance we would stay after all of this, but she followed us to the door while repeatedly asking us to stay. This place would’ve gotten 4 stars if this situation never happened. A manager really needs to step in and handle their staff.

Manger is an ass along with the rest of the door idiots. Bartenders great. The owner needs a refresher in how to treat there customers. The manger is the biggest jerk and does not appreciate his job. We spent two nights there and one on the last night we were there we had been there for two to three hours the bartender even spoke up for us my boyfriend went outside for two seconds to get air I followed and then went to go back in and wanted to charge us. Thank god I had grabbed my purse I still had two beers on the bar and they would not let us back in untill we laid ten dollars. Now if we were just walking in I get it but we had been there for the last three hours with friends. The manager needs help and to go find a job where if you are a prick and have no respect he would be good. I own business and he is another reminder of why you can fire idiots.

This bar has cover bands that are spot on. They play Fleetwood Mac, Journey, The Eagles, Guns n Roses… great selections and honor every request. Thank you Famous Door for a great time, every time.

This was the last and final bar that my SO and I ventured to for our NYE trip. I couldn’t really think of a more appropriate way to end a trip to NOLA than to have Taylor Swift’s Blank Space blasting through the venue and down the street at 3AM. It’s even better when every female stranger is screaming every line at their top of their lungs. What a happy way to end this journey! The bar has a basic setup – a stage and dance floor. It’s hard to distinguish this setup from any of the other bars on Bourbon but I had a great time. Some girls that were originally on the dance floor went up to dance on the stage. They weren’t doing do anything special and some of them were on their phones texting the entire time. None of the bouncers or employees seemed to care, and everyone was having a good time.

I had a very bad experience at this place. The shot girl pressured my friend and I into taking shots after we said no multiple times, then charged us for them. When we said that we didn’t ask for the shots and tried to leave, they threatened to have us arrested. If you go there, do not give into taking a shot that you don’t ask for.

This was the highlight of my visit to Bourbon Street. See my review on Bourbon Street. I was about to leave but heard music from The Famous Door and decided to venture in. What a great band! The female singer was rocking! She sang Janis Joplin’s «Piece of my Heart» like I have never heard it sung live. I had so much fun that this place redeemed my entire Bourbon Street bad taste in my mouth. Thank you.

Live Bands that are usually pretty good. Allows you to bring in outside drinks and this place is a fun time. Usually a packed house by the end of the night and near a lot of cheap drinks. Good Eats & Cheers!

Literally wouldn’t even bother with this place with the way the bouncer treated me. I’m twenty three, so I understand I still get carded. But this guy like waved us in, and I had my ID in my hand but didn’t give it to him because he didn’t ask. So I started walking in and this crazy dude lost it and started screaming at me. I understand they don’t want anyone underage to go in, but I don’t understand this absolutely rude and screaming bouncer. I literally just walked away because I refused to deal with this ridiculous shouting man, and brought my business to one of the many other clubs on the street with much nicer staff.

Party spot on bourbon street. Music, mobile vials being sold with liquor that looks like juice. It’s a busy spot. I’ve ended up here twice in two days.

GOFORTHEMUSIC… You won’t miss them. They will be there right on bourbon street with a very energetic band blaring your favorite music. You will be pulled right in. But a word of caution. If you are a lager person for the day they don’t have any seasonal or home brews and all you get is 5 – 6 standard bottled fare. But you won’t mind as the music and ambience is that great

The Famous Door is one of my favorite bars in New Orleans. This great club is located right on Bourbon Street, so blink and you may miss it. But, that is quite a hard thing to do because the great music will surely draw you in! This was just one out of the thousands(or at least felt like it) of bars we visited during a Kilt Pub Crawl to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of my two dear friends, Shannon and Brian. What was so great about this place is that there was plenty of room and the live music was great. Well… there was plenty of room until the 40+ of us took over! The band that was playing was amazing. They were an 80s cover band and everyone was dancing. They were such great sports because several of us(who me?) kept I getting on stage and singing and dancing with them much to their chagrin! The bartenders and staff were very friendly too. Some of the shot girls even came out to dance with us! The vibe and the crowd was great in here… or was it because we were all loaded? Regardless, a good time was had by all! It was such a great time that I am still debating whether or not to post the pics from the bar! This bar should be a must stop if you are doing a Bourbon Street Pub Crawl. Even if you are not, definitely stop in for the great live music!

I’ve been to Bourbon Street and this was my favorite bar. I was in town for a weekend and this is the place we always wound back up in. The house bands were very entertaining. No cover charge and a great party atmosphere for a guy north of 40. This is New Orleans so what’s the catch? There’s always a catch. They have this 2 for 1 beer special. The first beer is $ 8 and second one is warm when you get to it. Bring a friend or better yet drink fast and beat them at their own game. The shot girl was super aggressive but also super funny. Buy her a drink. These ladies are just trying to make a living. She had use laughing out loud(LOL) I think the dude in the restroom handing out the paper towels with his little cologne /breath mint /cigarette display was unnecessary. This is a dive not the Ritz. But again the dude is just trying to make a living. If a dude is hanging out by a urinal and smelling farts all night. Kick the brother a buck. He obviously needs it more than you.

Decent bar on Bourbon with a house band that plays a mix off rock, country and various other genres. Booze is cheap, both in cost and composition. A worthwhile stop on your crawl.

Soooo wasted, that is what I get every time I come here. The mix of people is great; it’s a total dive bar with a party like its 1999 vibe. When people come here, they forget all their troubles. At least the people on the dance floor do. There are the usual stool perchers, but this is the kind of place with a vibe that makes you want to dance. If you come on the right night, you will hear me singing Purple Rain in the restroom. This is a bonus of course. I usually try to time the really loud parts when the band has finished a song, so people can hear me. The shot girls can be pushy. I just hold up my hand and say NO. That seems to convince them. Like every Bourbon Street bar, it’s a bit dirty, but they seem to have some of the best«sling it in the go cup» bartenders in the vicinity. You don’t have to wait long for drinks here, and they don’t stop you at the door if you have a drink from another place in your hand. This keeps me loyal to them when I make my rounds on a night of debauchery. If you call it that…
