As I’ve said in my reviews of other establishments in the city — there is something unique when a venue can transport you to a different time and place. The Bombay Club is one of those venues. The swanky but comfortable environment takes you to a world of old English luxury with overstuff leather, live jazz, and a riding clubhouse vibe. 1. The service was amazing, attentive and non-intrusive. Even the manager stopped over to chat and check on us as a walk-in two top. 2. The happy hour specials from 3−6pm are a little known happy hour in the Quarter with discounted beer and wine, as well as a daily classic cocktail special. 3. The small plates during happy hour are a steal at $ 3. Word on the street is that they might have on of the best house-baked soft pretzels. 4. The food overall was spectacular and locally sources. Even the minor details are given love and care from plating to hours of prep for flavor packed food. I can strongly recommend the fish and chips. My date for the night devoured the locally caught beer bread fish and I helped myself to plenty of the french fries. My local crab salad was masterfuly prepared with just enough kick from the djion dressing. I restrained myself from licking the plate.(Gluten Free too). The dessert though only three items all made my mouth water at the verbal descriptions. My date got the homemade fried seasonal pie(imagine if you took a McDonalds apple pie and adulted it with locally sourced food) and he of course barely left a crumb. 5. They cater for small and large groups. There was a 15 top, 8 top, and a couple 6 tops when I was there. I would say be sure to make reservations if you plan to sit outside of the bar. 6. The small courtyard is also a little oasis and worth a dining experience. 7. Many nights a week they have live music, which is awesome because the venue is so small and the music is free. Check out wwoz livewire to find out who is playing. 8. The liquor selection! Seriously this is the type of place that liquor snobs dream about. There are over five different Japanese whiskeys, seven types of vermouth, and they make their own bitters. Sit at the bar and nerd out, my friends. Note: I will admit that there aren’t many options on this menu for those of us who are gluten-free, but I am sure the options that are there would not disappoint you.

I have been here twice now — came right back during my next visit to NOLA because I loved the combination of great live music(every night of the week), amazing food and delicious cocktails so much. Try any of the appetizers — we ordered a second round(and skipped the entrée), they are so good. Highly recommended.

Love the Bombay club! This establishment has a great vibe to it. While in town we enjoyed a few drinks at the bar one night and then made reservations to have dinner in one of the private booths on a second night. Food and drinks were fab!

Such a classy and intimate place. The atmosphere is very dim and cozy and reminds me of an Englishman’s man cave with the wooden bookcases and overall vibe. We made reservations and were seated right away. Our waitress was really air-headed but she was’t bad. There’s live music every night and its really nice to sit at a quiet restaurant with music and just relax and enjoy yourself. The drinks were really good, we got the bombay club martini and the raspberry martini — the latter was sweet and perfect for someone who doesn’t like the taste of alcohol. We got the Brussels sprout appetizer… outstanding, they were so crispy and the jam they were covered it was tasty. For our entrees we got the hanger steak which was juicy and cooked perfectly and the gulf fish which was literally the best fish I’ve ever had… the sauce it came with was ah-mazing! We got a side of cornbread with apple butter and they was awesome as well, although you really don’t need it as all dishes come with a side.

ALLTHEWAY, FIVESTARS! Well, this is happy hour talk here. I almost don’t want to spill the beans but I must. For three American dollars, between, 4 – 7, you can chow on a serious medley of delicious tapas and drink decent wine and beer. $ 3 a piece. I’m not kidding. I’m talking about BBQ chicken livers, pork belly tacos, some Canadian French fry thing with gravy that I can’t remember the name of, soft, Bavarian style pretzels. It’s a steal, folks. However, if you feel like a few premium martinis with your bff, your bill will reflect said choices. If you’re lucky enough to have Uncle Ross as your server, you will be enchanted.

Coming here I had mixed feelings from all the mixed reviews but it was a fabulous amazing night. The service was on point, the food was excellent the drinks and music was fantastic. The chocolate martini was great, the wine selection was decent, and dessert fried apple pie was awesome. The highlight of the night was amazing service. We had a booth behind the bar for dinner then saved us a place on the sofa for the live music but also able to give us a table outside to smoke cigars while we waited for the band to start. From our experience we highly recommend.

Great place. Very classy. Great live music. Food was great & has a VERY big drink menu, specializing in martinis. Place is small, dark & cozy. Great place to take a date. Funny that it’s so classy, yet just a block off of the degeneracy that is Bourbon St.

Previously a fan of Bombay Club, I have to retract my praise after suffering through the world’s worst waiter at my husband’s birthday dinner this week. Ross(the waiter) was epically rude and insulting to our guests… to the point that it’s almost all we discussed at dinner. One friend who can’t eat dairy asked for a hamburger — and suffered through the following exchange: Waiter: «We only have a cheeseburger on the menu.» Friend: «Well…can I just have a hamburger?» Waiter: «We only have what’s on the menu.» Editor’s note: Let’s remember we’re talking about a freaking hamburger here — not that complicated. Friend: «I can’t eat cheese. So can I have a cheeseburger WITHOUT the cheese?» Waiter: «Well, it still might have a little cheese on it.» The abuse continued all night. After an hour and about 30 minutes, we probably would have stayed for another drink, but we just wanted to get away from Ross. We paid the check and I was finishing the last of the wine left in my glass when Ross delivered his final insult«The people waiting on this table look really hungry so let’s hurry up.» Again, this was after about an hour and 30 minutes… the last plate of food delivered hadn’t been cleared yet. We spent more than $ 40 per person — but I think Ross was unhappy that he couldn’t upsell us on the special of the evening. And he took it out on us all night, especially disappointing as we were there for a special occasion. I’ll never go back to Bombay Club.

What a lovely place off the beaten track. Whether in the dark and clubby bar area or the cute courtyard, you’ll enjoy well-made drinks and EXCELLENT happy hour appetizers. All at GREAT prices. Winning!

I first went to the Bombay Club about 9 years ago on my first trip to New Orleans. Our driver said it’s where the locals go. Now, after returning there every trip I’ve made to the French Quarter, I believe it to be true. In fact, the Brennan’s were at the next table dining last weekend. Doesn’t get more local than that! I love creole food(any food, really) and I think that the Bombay Club has the best barbecue shrimp in town. Look for it on the starter menu. Also, they have a very reasonable happy hour which my companion was delighted about.

$ 3? Really…$ 3 for happy hour appetizers every day from 4pm to 7pm? Where can you get this type of deal two blocks off Bourbon? The Bombay Club was a great find tucked in the back of our hotel. They have an intimate, upscale setting(imagine a jazz club in a library type of setting). There is a very cute patio in back with three tables and a fountain. You can be dressed completely casual so it isn’t too upscale. The appetizers are incredible for the price. We tried all of them a few times and our favorites were the boudin rangoon, pretzel with Guinness beer cheese, and the buffalo style fried chicken livers. The portion sizes were decent and the quality was amazing. I loved their twist on timeless favorites. Drink specials are Abita Amber, chardonnay and Cabernet for $ 3. They make a heck of a martini that goes down well with the fried chicken livers. Try a little poutine for the person who likes it a little messy! Seriously, if you are in NOLA come here for the atmosphere and food. At 7pm stick around for a quaint jazz band and sit in the over sized sofas. We loved this place so much we stopped in here 3 nights for food and drinks.

Disclaimer: I didn’t eat/visit The Bombay Club. My review is based on my experience working with the staff, their service and feedback received. I booked reservations for C-suite executives for three of their birthdays while visiting NO. I chose The Bombay Club due to the live music, positive reviews and vibe I received speaking with Chris Brough, the manager at the time. I was getting a cake delivered here from a bakery since Chris explained they don’t offer full cakes here. This was for three of the executives’ birthdays. He told me they would be happy to receive it and store it in the cooler till dinner service and gave me the name of the GM and executive chef to pass on to the bakery. Chris Horner, the GM, called me yesterday early to confirm the reservations and to ask if I needed anything added or changed to the reservations. When it was close to the reservation time, Chris Horner called my cell to let me know the cake hadn’t arrived. I called the bakery; they were closed. I returned Chris’s call and asked what he could offer. He said he would make sure desserts were offered and even offered to call the bakery for me before he learned it was closed. Today, I spoke with Chris again after learning the cake finally showed up at the midnight hour. I thanked him for all of his help. He was very gracious and told me to look them up when I’m in the city. The feedback I received from the execs is the food was excellent along with the service they received. Also, they were given a private room which I didn’t ask for — praise you Chris Horner.

Came in to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my fiancé. I highly recommend reserving one of the private booths, as it made for a very intimate and seemingly private evening, while still getting to people watch. The food and drinks were all excellent. My favorite bites were the scotch egg and the Brussel sprouts. The large plates of hangar steak and tagliatelle pasta were good but not great. The drinks were also good, though the blackout bramble was 95% ice, so felt a little cheated about that one. Main reason for the star deduction was our server. He seemed super stressed out, instructed us to basically yell out orders to him because he couldn’t hear very well and just seemed down right grumpy at times. Once my fiancé and I both had empty water glasses, he filled hers and then just walked off without filling mine, despite me trying to call after him. He also made an error with the check that I had to call to his attention. Anyway, we did our best to enjoy ourselves despite him and we did have a very nice time.

Came here for happy hour(4pm-7pm) on a Thursday night; the happy hour menu is all $ 3 for the small plates! Located in the French Quarter, it’s the perfect location to stop by for some happy drinks! AMBIANCE4⁄5STARS The old school interior was pretty cute indeed. The old school booths with the heavy curtains, dark wood-paneled room, and comfy sofa chairs SERVICE3⁄5STARS Service was OK. It was pretty difficult flagging down the bartender — we had to constantly be on the lookout to snatch him when he was actually visible. Perhaps understaffed? Either way, it just sucks having to look so hard for a bartender to order a drink/food. Waited for a good 10+ min before we got our order in. FOOD3.5÷5STARS 1) Pork Belly Tacos $ 3(3⁄5 stars): Ingredients include: smoked black bean purée, kimchi slaw Pretty good! Pretty juicy and flavorful. But of course I’m always a bigger fan of Mexican tacos hence the 3 stars. 2) Chopped Liver on Toast with Pepper Jelly $ 3(3⁄5 stars):Liver taste was a little strong. Decent but not the biggest fan. I guess I prefer my liver sauteed in dishes or in some soup. 3) Fries(?! Can’t remember the dish name)(4⁄5 stars): Yummy! It had cheese, green onions and other good things added to the fries. Best dish of the night — perfect drinking food :) DRINKS Had Pimm’s Cup(Pimms No 1, lemon, soda, cucumber, fruit) $ 11 Yummy! They can make their drinks here :) —— OVERALL I would say that the drinking food here is actually better than most I’ve had in the past. But not so sure I would go out of my way to come back here for my next NOLA trip.

Enjoyed seriously crafted libations here. The owner makes sure to use only fresh ingredients for ALL their handcrafted cocktails. I strongly urge anyone to order drinks from their specialty list even if you are stuck to your standard beverage. We sampled The Royal Raspberry(the bomb), the Bombbay Club Martini, the Original Martini, The Cosmo & Bluberries Yum. All of them were great. Didn’t try the food, but the couple next to us had the fried Brussel Sprouts & loved them. And they frequented Bombay Club. The live jazz music that night was fantastic. Very lovely place to be.

We had Christmas Eve dinner here and it was outstanding. We had a 4 course meal and cocktails and the pacing was spot on. Service was great, pianist and singer were wonderful, and best of all the food was delicious.

Back again. Last night’s Pimms left me wanting more. Too stuffed for a main course. A side of vegetables and fries seemed like a good choice. It was! Roasted cauliflower and mushrooms. Delicious. I couldn’t discern the herbs but it was just scrumptious. Fries were fresh. Dipping sauce was ketchup with a kick. Yum. The Pimms was perfect. This place is a hidden gem. Away from the French Quarter craziness. Quiet bar area with an efficient staff who truly care about your experience.

I can’t speak for the entire restaurant, as I’ve only been here for the drinks at the bar and their happy hour specials. With that disclaimer out of the way, I’ll get straight to the point. The main purpose of most people who visit New Orleans and the French Quarter is to drink and eat good food. Now, there are many places to do both, but if you are on the older side of 30 and you prefer a little quieter spot, then look no further! The drinks(on happy hour) are reasonably priced the happy hour food is really good! The place leans on the darker side(lighting wise) so bring a flashlight or use the one on your phone. I’ve had the Pimms #1 drink, the poutine, the pork street tacos, and the fries. All were very good. The service here is top notch, and everyone is friendly.

I had a very surreal night here about a million years ago and then didn’t come back for years… but I’ve been back several times over the last couple of months. Always for cocktails and not yet for food… Over the summer I led an assortment of relatives in for a family wedding for a solid cocktail experience, we got an assortment of beverages and everyone was happy. The bartenders are solid and are friendly without being over the top. The atmosphere is dark and woody, even on a bright summer’s day. It can feel like a cool oasis when hot. It is a bit odd to wander up the driveway of the hotel to get to the space, and this week an inconsiderate driver almost hit me with his car door, so be careful as you walk in or out. The happy hour is pretty decent with a good price on a white and red and a couple of beers plus whatever the cocktail of the day is. And then there are small plates for $ 5 I think.

This was a little gem we walked into once the crowds in bourbon started to hit the«overwhelming» limit. The ambience was perfect, reminiscent of a library converted to a speakeasy. There was a jazz singer who also helped set the atmosphere. The entrance is set back and you walk in through and unobtrusive red door. The food was phenomenal, we shared the chorizo rice and a Scottish egg. Chorizo rice had a slight spicy kick to it. The Egg was melt in your mouth goodness. For dessert there were sweet potato pie which shared a beautiful holiday spice between the pie and the ginger whipped cream. The whopee was s childish dream grown up. Drink selection was greaT. I sipped on a vesper with dinner– evoking a very best Bond-esque feeling.
