Kelli the bartender is amazing!!! Best gin martini!!! Great atmosphere. Was fun and open concept. Casual yet nice. So different from Bouche(original restaurant in that location). We ordered two apps … Delicious!!!

Pros – drinks and food were very good. The meat on the PBLT sandwich was delicious! The fries were homemade, hot, and yummy. Cons – service was unorganized. The bread on the sandwich and the other items was cold and hard. Overall, the food was very good. I’d give it another shot when I’m in the area.

This is my new favorite beer spot in the city by far. I was worried about it being too touristy because of its location but it’s far from that. I enjoyed the venue as well as the selection of beers and cocktails. I’m always all for outdoor seating and although it is all inclosed it has the feel out the outdoors. They had the doors opened also as the weather that evening was perfect for it. One thing I really enjoyed about the place, aside from the picnic style tables, were the various games at the table. It had been awhile since I’ve seen a deck of UNO cards and I was excited to play with them. That was a huge bonus! I was a bit confused at first about the two bars offering different things but I can understand the reasoning behind that. I’m sure it can get quite crazy in there at times. The bartender didn’t at all mind my customization request for their«off of bourbon» cocktail. I also visited the other bar for a local brew.

Our plan was to spend happy hour at a wine bar in the warehouse district on Tchoupitoulas. Upon arriving, we discovered the wine bar had been converted to a beer garden. We ordered our wine bottles, and after they were delivered, our server informed us they were switching a keg and offered us free beers… Lazy Magnolia Sweet Potato Stout. The food was delicious as well… we ate Pork Belly sandwiches with a tomato chutney, carrot spaetzle, sea salt and garlic fries served with curried ketchup and homemade potato chips. Each picnic table offered an assortment of card games and there is a pool table, ping pong table, beer pong tables, lifesize jenga, and tabletop shuffleboard. It is a great place to hang out and enjoy a game and a beer. All that was missing was live music, although the music playing was great. We will definitely spend some time there again on a future visit.

There were 3 tables with patrons in the whole space and the service was awful. We could see at least 5 wait staff walking around and it took 25 minutes for someone to approach us about our empty glasses(only after we chased down the bartender ourselves). We were originally open to another round but were turned off after they accidentally duplicated our original drinks and gave them to the table behind us and then didn’t stop by to ask about future orders for 20+ minutes. Major staff issues to work out here in order to garner any sort of crowd or success. Super disappointed.

Really surprised by some of these earlier review because during our visit TBG had it together! First, they had a great selection of beer and a really friendly staff on hand that provided us with recommendations and were really chill. TBG had a ton of games, which was perfect for relaxing with friends while grabbing some food and enjoying their beers. We played foosball, ping pong, darts, shuffleboard, and jenga(it looked like they had many more games as well). The playlist was great — a lot of hit jams from the 90s and early 2000s. It took us all back to the«good old days.» They also had a lot of long picnic tables perfect for beer pong /flip cup(which is a thing there apparently), or just simply kicking back with friends. They had a large projection screen perfect for games and aired the NFL playoffs. The place is new, clean-looking, and really has anything a beer drinker could ever want. They even were kind enough to send a complimentary charcuterie and meat board our way — which was more than appreciated and tasted great. I absolutely loved this place and wished we had checked it out more. It’s worth a visit if you are looking to kick back with a group of friends and enjoy a game or just kill a few hours.

Meh. Had some friends visiting from out of town, I live close so thought we’d give this place a try. I probably won’t be back. For one, the beer selection is severely lacking. While I appreciate bringing in German beers, there are simply more options pretty much everywhere else in the Warehouse. I’d say Barcadia or The Rusty Nail are more of beer gardens simply because they have much wider selections. There is no real atmosphere or vibe to the place at all, everything feels forced. There are much better bars in the area.

Unfortunately the service here brings this place way down… We recently stumbled upon this place to watch the play off games. Food: a quaint menu but some good choices. I got the PBLT(Porkbelly BLT). Pretty tasty! Layout/décor: I understand the other reviews knocking the fake ivy and bright lighting, but those didn’t bother me that much. It’s relatively cute with the picnic tables to give it a little German flair. However, the layout is a bit odd. Order food from the bar stand, as in where bartenders pick up food. That is if someone is actually there to take your order. Service: Where to start… The staff, which is quite a few, seems to be preoccupied walking around everywhere and not interacting with customers. I waited at least 4 minutes to order while two staff members continued to brew some iced tea. Did it really take two people while we waited to order… We didn’t have our dished cleared while we sat thru the majority of the football game. When I took the dirty dishes myself to the counter, the waitress told me in a frumpy tone that«the bus station was on the other side of the room.» #seriously With the number of choices in New Orleans and based on the other reviews, I’m not sure this place will stay open for very long.

Don’t even bother. This place won’t make it in the Warehouse District. Poor management and service. Bad concept.

The atmosphere is cool, I didn’t have any food but the beer selection is very limited, they had less than 10 beers on tap. Newly opened establishment so they may be trying to get more selection. With world of beers around the corner, it is tough competition especially with how many beers they offer.

Mediocre. I agree with other reviews that the décor is a little tacky, but I am more critical of the beer selection and the service, which was excessively slow. The beer selection was limited to 8 taps and 11 bottle/cans, which seems pretty limited/lame for a place that calls itself a beer garden. The service was really slow. They only had one woman behind the bar who was doing her best, but ordering took about 25 minutes. On the plus side, it seems they have done away with the doubloons system. We paid directly with credit cards like any other place. And the food was decent but expensive. I had the burger which was pretty good and cooked to my liking(medium rare, which a lot of places won’t do), but there was a $ 2 up charge for a small portion of fries instead of chips on a burger that was already $ 12. Go to World of Beer around the corner instead. Better beer selection and better menu.

Great neighborhood bar. Nice beer selection and wide array of cocktails. Food is solid– helps with all the beer! Lots of fun games– beer pong competition was intense! Shuffle board. Ping pong. Cards! Fun place to just hang out and have a few drinks and snacks any night of the week. All the employees are nice and very friendly. Definitely will keep coming back!

I went this weekend and had a great time. I ordered the fries and they were a good sized portion and came with 2 dipping sauces. They are still putting together the drink menu, but the bartender made me a unique gin cocktail that was fantastic. They said they are getting rid of the doubloon system that other reviewers complained about so no worries there. Great food and drinks, and a nice large space to grab a table or play bar games. I’ll definitely return!

I actually like the concept behind this place, but I rate it very low on execution. (1) As a beer garden, their best bet is to get customers who are watching games. Therefore they should have TV’s. They do not. (2) The décor is about at kitsch-y as it gets… and not in a good way. In a budget way. Fake plastic«ivy» or the cheap looking lattice work inside. They did not even get a decent«Bavarian» flag which would have been a minimal expense. Yucky picnic tables. Did I mention there are not TVs?! (3) This place looks cheap but it is actually expensive and it’s super inconvenient! You have to buy tokens in order to purchase products. I assume they are trying to conceal their liquor sales through the token sale thing… I heard a rumor that the city does not allow this place to be a bar when it sort of seems like it is(or at least is trying to be). (4) CHEAP. this place looks tacky. its cheapening the neighborhood and smells terrible. With high-end restaurants(Emerils and La Boca on opposite corners) and luxury residential condos next door, this place simply does not fit in with the neighborhood and is making the street look less appealing. If this place wants to work, they need to hire a interior/restaurant style consultant or just copy off a successfull beer garden, like Hoffbrau! They will also need TV’s and to ditch the token approach. Good Luck.

This place is like a beer festival and bier garden gone bad. You have to buy a coin aka doubloon at the kiosk then take the coin to one of two small bars to buy a beer. Each coin is $ 4.50. Fries cost two coins. Some beers cost 3. Two coins for $ 9 for fries! One coin for a can of domestic. The décor is cheesy and depressing which is what they hoped for so you buy more beer. I don’t expect to see this place sticking around too long especially when there’s world of beer, courtyard brewery, Nola tap room and bourbon street all close by. It must be kid friendly since I saw kids running between the picnic tables. This place is a tourist trap.

I’m going on record right now and saying that if they do not do a major over-haul of the way they do business, I do not see them being open in 6 months. I’ve never walked into a place, looked at everything, and immediately knew I’d never want to go back like I did here unless it was that one Chinese restaurant in Aurora that smelled like fish heads and cat pee as we walked in the door. This place didn’t smell bad, but everything about it was just… wrong. From the completely wrong concept and décor of a closed space«Beer Garden» to the completely rediculous doubloon system, to the waaay too high prices, to the lack of ability to tip(unless you give them a $ 4.50 doubloon tip each time or ignore the doubloon system and give them cash anyway– which makes the doubloon system seem even more useless). This place is a perfect recipe for self-destruction. Example of pricing: an order of debris fries is usually between 4 and 8(8 being Mahoneys which is known to be a little expensive), there, it’s 3 doubloons…$ 4.50+$ 4.50+$ 4.50=$ 13.50 for debris fries. WTF? Flatbread, same thing. Seriously? Are you hand fed by German lads/lasses in lederhosen who whisper«Du bist Hübsch» in your ears? Because then, maybe. I get it, using doubloons makes people more likely to spend more because it seems cheaper to drunk people to plop down 3 doubloons than $ 13.50 for something worth much less. I get it, I do. I just think it’s a sucky way to do business and I’m betting a lot of other people will too. I hope they make it… and by that I mean I hope they totally scrap this mess of a business plan and do something better/smarter. Doubloons? This isn’t Chuckie Cheese, fellas. P. S. The overly-bright lights make it almost sterile looking but also bringing out any dirt and grime that may be on things like improperly wiped down tables(just saying).

I attended opening night for Tchoupitoulas Beer Garden(«TBG»). Right now I would say that TBG is a work in progress. Eight beers on tap, and of the three I had, I liked none. I tried all German beers and found most of them to be pretty heavy for beer garden drinking. There’s a few more I’d like to try next time around as it may have just been bad luck on my part. I didn’t try any food, but from the menu it looks like it could be good. Except for this time of year when Oktoberfest is happening it’s not the type of stuff New Orleans is particularly known for. What I really question about this place is the idea of an «indoor» beer garden. It was brightly lit while I was there, and who wants to drink heavily in a brightly lit indoor space? The menu also features boilermakers and some bourbons. But I’m not sure how many people want to drink hard liquor in a brightly lit, crowded open room. Not sure about anyone else but if I’m having a drop a shot in my beer kind of night, I’m probably wanting to have it in a dark corner bar. I’m really not a fan of using tokens for purchasing beer(«doubloons»). Each token will cost $ 4.50. When I was paying with tokens last night what I found was that a token is way too expensive for tipping a bartender. So what I found myself doing was having to get into my wallet, anyway, to find a dollar for a tip. This is really inconvenient when you can’t make change, or leave a tip on a credit card. I think the token concept would work a lot better in a country where people aren’t expected to tip.
