Super cute shop with higher end gift items for house or baby. Love that it emphasizes local designers. And that it has a creative selection of items that you don’t see elsewhere. The houswares are really cute and inventive. And the jewelry is way tempting. The women’s clothing upstairs offers an interesting selection of items from casual to fancy. And the salesperson who was working the day I tried on things was really helpful and attentive without being pushy. Definitely a spot to shop when you want to treat yourself or pickup a gift for a special person in your life.

What a great shop! It’s like Sopo and Tubby’s and Coo(the book store next door) got together and asked: «What would be Catie’s ideal shopping experience?» and came up with setting up shop next door to each other. Sopo is a very thoughtfully put together store. I absolutely love everything in it. They have a nice mix of things and a lot of it is locally crafted, which is wonderful. I even loved all of the baby stuff they carry, and I don’t even have a baby! If you are shopping locally for the holidays, I definitely recommend Sopo.

A wonderful store owned by two wonderful people! I love their eye for unique products and know I’ll always be able to find something there. The clothing they carry is comfortable, wearable, and the things I reach for time and time again. Ace & Jig is a favorite brand they carry and I also appreciate their commitment to selling local and independent brands.

From gifts to super trendy/stylish clothes, this shop has it all. I’ve gotten baby gifts, picked up items for my hubby, and a few things for myself. If you want locally unique, check out this place. The staff is super nice too.

Sopo is a great place to pick up a gift for someone you would like to impress with your excellent taste, and you’ll probably see at least one thing in there that you have to have as well. Midcity doesn’t have much retail, but Sopo beautifully fills that gap. The place is adorable. And all that adorable stuff? Reasonably priced,(much of it is) locally made, ethically sourced, well-designed, and some of it is even useful. Everyone who works here is amazingly helpful, nice, and patient(especially Lauren).

So I had met the ladies, Britta and Robin, that owned SOPO in a past life and knew that they opened SOPO two years ago, and last week was my very first time going in there despite having driven by a thousand times and being within walking distance. Shame on me, shame. I needed a birthday card for my mom, and had seen a funny birthday card at a friends that she said was from there. While it seems these ladies pioneered the use of acronyms before they were cool with SOPO(Southern Posh), it’s actually Finnish for cute. I’m so gonna make it a thing. Just you wait. There store is an embodiment of its namesake. Seemingly small it’s packed with a ton of awesomeness… from locally-made purses and rucksacks from Tchoup Industries that make you want to break out your passport and get to traveling; to children’s clothing and gifts including adorable stuffed animals that look drunk, sleepy or stoned, I can’t tell, but I love them, and need an excuse to buy someone(or myself) one of them, as well as tons of eclectic one-of-a-kind and local jewelry, and so much more. They even have an upstairs with various hard-to-find women’s clothing lines. I ended up scooping up a super piece of jewelry for my lucky sister that they wrapped though Robert thought it was the coolest thing ever(can’t divulge since she hasn’t received it yet), and a cool card for my Mom, of which I had difficulty choosing from their assortment. They have a great range of prices to suit most any gift or «I-owe-myself» budget. You can even go in there and put together a Wish List and send in those looking to hook a sister up. Someone better be writing this down… I will absolutely be back here when looking for friends and family gift items to not only support these great ladies but to support local vendors kicking out some phenomenal items… or on pay day when I’ve got some personal piggy bank money to splurge.

Everything in this store is awesome! Most of the merchandise is handmade locally and they carry something for everyone, from baby blankets, to jewelry and colorful scarves. The have cute tops and super nice jeans, and they also carry Mardi Gras masks, of course! The item I’m most interested in going back to get is this handmade leather beer holster so I can stylishly carry my beer at the parades, no hands! The only reason I didn’t get it last time was I had popped in for a gift for someone else. I have a tendency to lose track of my goals if I end up shopping for myself. The ladies who work there are so super nice & friendly. They had great suggestions for a gift for my friend’s new baby. I love the way the store is set up, all the funky, crafty stuff is on the ground floor & the clothes are all upstairs. And the artwork they have on the stairs is phenomenal, I just wanted to hang out on the stairs and stare these paintings all day. The prices may be a bit steep but it’s worth it if you think of how much work went into most of this handcrafted stuff. They also have a very decent sales rack to chose from if you don’t have the funds but are still drooling over everything in the store. No matter what, shopping in this sweet little mid-city boutique is a lovely experience for all of your senses, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Stopped in here to take a look around this boutique because the fact that it’s a house made into a posh boutique was pretty intriguing. It gives a nice homey feel when browsing around in the cozy store. Most of the items were of course targeted for women, but I definitely like the layout and the customer service here, ESPECIALLY! They greeted me nicely with many smiles and good convo. I was able to walk out with a nice can of Archer air freshener. It smells of European Sport’s Car… it really does. I thought that was cool, so I got it. a nice conversation starter with friends. All in all, I just really love the people here, and the place is set up perfectly to take advantage of the charming, narrow real estate of the house. Nice mid city vibe with a very unique selection of retail items. ;-)
