While I like Sneaky Pete’s because it has more of a local-patron feel, it is close enough to Canal and Bourbon that you get the usual snarky bartender who immediately demands you pay, won’t let you start a tab, and then harasses you for a tip. This divey, smokey bar would be a gem if it weren’t for a horrible service. On the plus side, there are a couple of large TV screens, and this is probably the closest thing to a sports bar within a few blocks. Catch the game, get a fun specialty drink in a souvenir cup, and then move on out!

What a fun place. This bar welcomes you and makes sure you have a great time. Every staff member was so nice. Can’t wait for my next visit to New Orleans. I’ll definitely be back to sneaky Petes.

1 star for having the football ticket. Only 1 star because you are a bar and your job is simple. Pour drinks and serve. The service is horrible at best. A bartender that could careless to be there and really seems bothered to pour you a drink. When asked for a rum and coke, you would think that would be easy. But the drink was bad and possibly watered down boose. It didn’t help that the bartender was drinking just as much as the guests. The smells of pot also linger in the bar. Not sure who it came from but not acceptable. If you see this place… keep looking.

Drinks are more expensive than some of the strip clubs. Bartenders are way wrapped up in themselves. If you are not in the service industry… good place to skip. But if you like idiotic bartenders this is your place!

We recently did a 36 hour mini vacation to the French Quarter, which landed us in New Orleans at the bright, sunshiny hour of 7:30am. We quickly realized New Orleans is not a city meant to be seen in the glare of the early morning and it only takes so long to eat beignets. Wandering the streets while the filth of the previous night gets hosed off wasn’t a good start to our trip, so thank god we found Sneaky Pete’s open and ready to serve us booze in the early hours of the morning. It was dark, pretty loud, and tiny with less than stellar service but it was also just what we needed. A bloody Mary in a plastic cup took the edge off of the hot, dirty morning and reassured us there was a convenient hiding spot we could escape to if we needed another break. Thanks Sneaky Pete’s!

I always like this bar for a quiet drink and to play some music. No red bull, so drinks are limited for me. I’ve never had a problem with this bars patrons, but remember it’s NOLA so anywhere can get sketchy. Bartenders are friendly and give good advice of places to go and what’s new in NOLA.

Sneaky Pete’s is kind of a dive, yet also kind of like a trashy ex-girlfriend. The cigarette smoke lingers in her hair and the lipstick is always on her teeth. It wasn’t my favorite, I was super tired so that could have affected my assessment of the situation, but a watch party of the Walking Dead and domestic beer were not enough to make me want to rush back.

One of the best dive bars I’ve visited in the country. Quiet, great music playing, good happy hour specials, great bartenders, and open 24 hours. If you’re in the area, its worth seeking out.

Cold, cheap beer. Unpretentious atmosphere. A little bit of a dive, but still felt clean. Service was great. We went here twice and it wasn’t crowded it all– either time. Great selections on the jukebox. Music didn’t overpower conversation. So glad we stumbled upon Sneaky Pete’s. It was pouring down rain, so we ducked in and we loved it so much that we simply had to return again the next day. This is my definition of a fantastic bar.

A great place to duck off into if tired of the crowds in the Quarter! The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is very laid-back. This bar usually has good music playing too! I love the casual vibe here! Cool bartenders as well. Highly recommend this fun bar that is open 24⁄7.

If you look up the definition of a dive bar, this place should come up in the dictionary. Juke box, cheap drinks, and laid back atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. The crowd was mostly bar flies, but not bad. This is the place to go to get away from Bourbon Street and chill out with a few drinks.

We found it how most others have found it… wandering by, mid day, slightly lit. Yup, it;s a locals joint, but it seemed cool. There was even a dude in there asleep. Sweet! Nobody drew all over his face either, as you would if someone fell asleep at your house. It would be the perfect place to swing by for one last drink while heading to your hotel, or to get that 3am breakfast.

Nothing special going on here. With so many other bars in the area to choose from(not even limiting yourself to bourbon street), it’s fine to give this one a pass. Weirdly hot lights over the tables, strange snacks brewing in a crockpot, and a random assortment of staff(coming in off the street? Not sure what that’s about) and people seemingly drawn in for one last drink in a dive atmosphere before going back to one of the many hotels in a one-block radius.

A good bar a few blocks off of Bourbon but in close proximity to some other bars. Their bar staff is very laid-back and there’s much more room in here than in many of the other bars. Wasn’t too loud, wasn’t too smokey and the music they were rockin’ was just what we wanted to hear.

It looks kinda big from outside, but really… is not. It’s an oddly located dive, but seems like a cool place. Popped in for a quick drink and bounced. If you are walking by, might as well check it out.

Sneaky Pete’s you comforted me in my time of need. Ended up at Sneaky Pete’s one night after missing the turn for my hotel by 3-blocks. This place is very much a dive bar with great bartenders and a local scene. After enjoying a couple drinks and some pizza from next door the door guy got us pointed in the right direction.

Three Texans arrive in New Orleans for their first Mardi Gras. After waiting on a parade for what seemed like days, we take off toward Bourbon Street in search of libations. We pass this little dive on the way and I make a mental note-to-self: a home away from home? We ended up spending a good chunk of time in Sneaky Pete’s. No frills here. The bartenders were friendly, the drinks were cheap, and the beer was cold. Shitty internet juke box. Highlights include the spicy green beans in the bloody marys and the couple that had sex in the ladies room around 3pm.
