Love this place! Wonderful having a real butcher and meat master in the neighborhood. Have sat down for lunch, great cracklings, Tonight, for Krewe de Vieux, getting sausages for a Donald link recipe of braised sausage with chiles, made with amber beer, red wine vinegar, sweet and hot peppers, garlic, creole mustard, rosemary, served over rice. This place is amazing! Finally we have a great butcher in the bywater. I’ve had their boudin, andouille, pork patè, boudin stuffed chicken, chicken stock, bone marrow, aged bone-in ribeye, Italian meatballs and it’s all been 5 beans! I’ve given their delectables as gifts and all have been thrilled! The guys at Shank will prepare your meats for the freezer as well. Do yourself a favor and only shop with these wizards

I decided to walk in on a whim. I didn’t actually know they served lunch. I got the Carolina BBQ style sliders. The BBQ was fantastic. Now some Carolina BBQ snobs may be displeased because it doesn’t come with slaw. I’m from Carolina, had a grandfather that raised pigs. I know good BBQ, and was actually pleased that slaw wasn’t slopped all over it. It did have a tasty white BBQ sauce. The BBQ could stand on its own, and is the real deal.
