I really wish I would have discovered this when I was still a student at UNO. I love live jazz music so when my sister asked me if I wanted to see a concert here, I jumped on the chance. They serve beer and wine for reasonable prices. I think they also serve cocktails as well. They usually have UNO music students play with an award-winning musician, which is nice not only for the audience, but a great opportunity for the students to perform with musicians of great prestige. The only issue I had with this place was that the crowd was a lot older than what I’m used to(like I’m talking 40s-50s), especially for a college campus. It’s mostly UNO alumni reminiscing the good old days. I just wish more UNO students would take more pride in the Sandbar as the alumni do because it really is a nice hangout and a great way to get involve in the university and the city’s culture.

I stop in at The Sandbar(located on UNO’s campus) weekly on my way to class. The menu is rather limited(burgers, wraps, salads) but the prices are decent and the service is quick. The atmosphere is relaxed(it serves college students and college personnel almost exclusively) and clean.
