Salon 1522

Kris Raum (she may have changed her last name bc she recently got married) is my hair stylist! I went to her for two years in Hair Loft in uptown at Tchoupitoulas and followed her when she opened her hair salon with a friend. Kris is super friendly and efficient! She knows my hair (wavy which is weird for Filipinos) and knows what I like. I used to like it super short and shaved in the back when it was hot but that was too much upkeep so I’m growing it long now. Now I’m into trims with lots of layers or else I feel shaggy! I used to be cheap and not get my hair shampooed but man was I missing out! It feels exquisite to have your hair washed and she makes sure to test the temperature of the water and make sure you like it. She is all about customer service! It me a cute shop with a comfy couch, lots of magazines which I love! They so do bridal parties, makeup, spa days whatever! They are accommodating! I could spend a whole afternoon there but Kris is so quick with my haircut I have to talk fast to give her all the gossip! She has me for life! Haircut and shampoo for $ 40 and she takes credit cards with that neat-​o iPad and square swiper thingy! She’s in the Lower Garden district with street parking.
And guys don’t feel like it’s just for ladies bc I’ve seen some hot guys getting a cut too! ;)
She’ll make you feel like a million bucks inside and out! Good people!
