I needed to have a dishwasher and garbage disposal installed, and Roto-Rooter was the right choice for the job! I was able to schedule a technician to come at my convenience. My «window» was from 8am to noon, so I was pleased when the dispatcher called at 8.30am to let me know my technician was on his way. My technician was Amos Watson(#1418), and he arrived exactly when he was due. He was neat and clean, and so polite, and he gave off an «I know what I’m doing» vibe. I explained to him what I needed — installation — and he was able to quickly give me an estimate. He also informed me that the plumbing under my sink was not up to code, which was not surprising, considering the age of my home, and the amount of leaking I’ve experienced from the sink. He added in the price of updating the pipes, and within about 15 minutes I had my estimate. The best part of this estimate was that Roto-Rooter has set prices for each kind of job. There was a price for the dishwasher, a separate price for the disposal, and a third price for the pipes. I knew that there was no jiggery pokery going on with the pricing, and that I was not being taken advantage of. That’s a great feeling! We agreed on the price for all three jobs, and Amos went to work right away. After a quick run to buy some parts, his skill was put to use. Technical aspects aside(because I have no idea how plumbing and wiring work), Amos was pleasant but determined, and seemed very efficient. He clearly knew exactly what he was doing, and this instilled me with confidence. After two or so hours of work, Amos was finished and I could use my kitchen again. Before he left he gave me a quick lesson in the proper care and maintenance of my new disposal. Overall, I am so glad that I chose Roto-Rooter to do this installation for me. Amos was a great technician, and everyone I spoke with on the phone was polite and accommodating. I highly recommend this company, and especially Mr. Watson!

Everyone knows that when you have a leak or plumbing issue, it is a very stressful ordeal. Particularly, when the issue is being experienced by someone other than yourself and you are responsible for fixing it. Recently, I called RR to fix a water pressure issue and a leak in a rental property. A repairer came out the following day, but I seriously wish he hadn’t. He was socially challenged and it created a bit of a rub at the outset. He knew it was a rental property and for some reason he decided to treat the tenants as second class citizens. He never spoke to them, informed them of anything and left without saying anything to them. I had to pry general info out of him and found his pricing suspect given my past experience with this company. Once the tenants noticed he was gone, they also learned nothing was fixed and there were two leaks when there was only one before. Never mind that I was already charged for work that had not been performed or was poorly performed. The review is 3 stars because despite this piss poor experience, the general manager Mike McCloskey sent a new person out. He informed me that Greg was off but I know he was in fact working. Guess that’s a nice way of saying I’m going to improve your experience. And Mr. McCloskey did. The new tech(Devin) was a godsend. He fixed it all and communicated with the tenants. And for that I am thankful. Also, Mr. McCloskey took an additional $ 50 off the total bill. I would say it was great except that it is the same discount given if you check in on Unilocal when the service is done. But it was a nice gesture on his part though it was appropriate under the circumstances. Despite my scar tissue, I am satisfied with the end result. And the tenants are too.

Called around 11am because my hot water heater stopped working and I tried to troubleshoot, but was unable to re-light the pilot light. They had Mr. Amos out to my house within the hour! They also called to give me a heads that he was on his way, so I really appreciated the communication and efficiency! I thought I was going to have to buy a new water heater, but he gave me the options of relighting the pilot and seeing how much life I could get out of an already 10yr old water heater, servicing it and cleaning it out to see if there was dust/dog hair causing the light to go out, or replacing it. The price for replacing it seemed a bit higher than what I anticipated(quoted $ 1150), but it seems like there is some mark up Rotorooter adds for going to purchase and deliver a water heater, which seems reasonable. The price was a bit high for someone coming out just to relight a pilot(almost $ 100), but they have to make their money too, I guess. Mr. Amos was professional, friendly and efficient, and overall lovely to work with! I’m doing a bit of research into costs for installation if I buy it separately, but I would not hesitate to work with Mr. Amos again!

They needed a four hour window to schedule, and 45 minutes from the end of that window I had to call them to ask for a status. They then told me it would be another 2 to 2 and a half hours before someone could come. The real problem is they didn’t call me. How long would I sit, growing angrier, before some guy shows up hours late for an appointment he had a four hour window to hit in? Ridiculous, never again. Plus, the next place I called gave me a solid quote over the phone for what I needed done.

Scheduled at 2 pm and I waited until 6. When I called back they said they had never sent a crew to me at all.

They dont even deserve one star! We had a clog in our brand new home we had only been in for a week. They came out and could not find the clean out pipe where the clog was so they went on the roof to go from that pipe, that didnt work so they came in the house with a big machine dripping fecal water all over my new white floors, pulled up my working toilet to unclog the drain, After four hours, they finally got the clog removed, but the next day the toilet wich had no problems before is now leaking. They gave me an appointment fo 1:00 — 3:00, they showed up at 4:15, for the technician to tell me that he didnt know how to fix it, so the next day they scheduled a third appointment to come fix the toilet they broke and wanted to charge an additional $ 350.00 to fix. We told them no thanks and now we are looking for another plumber to fix our broken toilet, that we will have to pay for out of pocket. What a NIGHTMARE!!! Dont let anyone you know call ROTOROOTER!!!

I don’t think you can call yourself a 24⁄7 plumber if you’re not available 24⁄7. Called at 4:30pm on a Friday and was told I couldn’t get some one until the following morning. I told them that my closet would be flooded. They didn’t seem to care. I have Eagle Plumbing on their way now. Hopefully they will do what Roto Rooter can’t. Also, I was greeted with«How can I give you excellent customer service today?» and then she copped a ‘tude with me. F Roto Rooter.

I wish I could pick 0 stars, but unfortunately it’s not an option. I have a leak(and still do currently!). I called them to set up an appt w/the leak specialist on a Friday night and they gave me a Sat appt. at 8AM. Sat rolls around… nobody comes and then they call around noon to tell me «that there’s nobody available». They reschedule me for Sunday at noon. Guess what happens? Around 1 pm, they call me to tell me that there are no leak specialists working that day. I bite my tongue and«re-reschedule» for Monday at 6 pm… I’ll give you one guess what happens next. They are 0⁄3 with the appointments. Right now I’m under the assumption that this business doesn’t really exist in New Orleans. Update: 5 days later they finally show up. My leak is intermittent so it wasn’t actively putting out water at the time. Here’s their mind-blowing«leak specialist» assessment… get ready for it, «please call and make an appointment when you’re experiencing an active leak».
