Place is now CLOSED. Great food, can’t believe they are gone…:(

Ok. So the first time I came here it was on a Sunday, the restaurant was not busy and received good food/service. The last couple times, had the good fortune to meet the other half of the staff that take 15 mins to take your order, are rude when you ask where the food is(had a waitress nicely blurt out, «It’s coming!») or just forget about you. The food is good enough and their variety is well worth checking out. The K&B sandwich is delicious. Went in there recently and they were short staffed again with much of the same results… getting lost in the shuffle with the other tables(even though we had arrived first) and all around slow service. And for god’s sake don’t ask to split a check! Hats off to the chef for dealing with a WAY understaffed day at the restaurant, though.

Though the place was pretty empty, which made me a little skeptical, the smell of authentic pizza lured me in. The pizza was good, but my fiancé and I both had major stomach problems that evening. The service is ok: once seated, it can be hard to get requested items from the limited«wait staff». The pizza arrived fast and the Cesar dressing was great, though it is not your typical creamy white Cesar dressing!

How is this place even in business? I mean it’s just absolutely some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. We watched our waiter prepared or mozzarella sticks and spinach artichoke dip — using a microwave and taking the food out of large, Costco looking plastic bags. Both of those appetizers were gross but the worst part of the meal were the pizzas. I just don’t know how a place can specialize in pizza and make some of the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. Sadly, any frozen pizza at the grocery store would have been a way better option that Rocky’s.

Was craving a good pizza and Rocky’s kept coming up by name, so thought I’d give it a shot. Glad I did !! Ordered the cheese sticks appetizer(typical cheese sticks, yummy) and my and my partner both ordered small pizzas. i was shocked how big the small pizza was !! I was expecting more of a slightly larger than a personal pizza, but this was 6 good slze slices. I could only eat 3. Topping were good, cheese was good, and the crust was quite nice. It was a very good experience. I will definitely be back.

So as a Boston snob, I firmly believe that nowhere in New Orleans has mastered a crust yet. That being said, the toppings here are awesome! There’s tons to choose from and they have a delicious roasted garlic one with cloves of garlic right on there. THAT my friends is money!

Ate here last week. Forgot what the pizza was called but it was really good. Price was good. Service was good. Beer selection was small but excellent. The only thing I noticed that was a bit off was the waitress kept getting happier and more talkative everytime she came back to our table. What I noticed was since they were slow the servers were drinking beer behind the bar. I found it funny.

I like their selection of pizzas, and coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, a large for under $ 20 is a great price. We got their Wild Tchoupitoulas pizza, with pepperoni, sausage, red pepper, and jalapenos, which was delicious. Their house salad was good, too. Not too many beers on tap, but they do have the staples like Abita Amber, Purple Haze, Blue Moon, and Brooklyn Lager. Seemed kinda slow for a Saturday night, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere, a very stereotypical old fashion pizza/pasta restaurant feel.

This reminded me of a modified St. Louis style pizza(thin and crispy). The service was prompt and courteous, and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Came down to NOLA for creole, but had an itch for some pizza, this definitely hit the spot.

Ok, I normally go for the crawfish & tasso white pizza, which is great, but tonight I opted for pasta. Crawfish in a garlicky cream sauce, which I asked to have spiced up a bit. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Been going there for about 15 years, will always go back

Great food, great staff, reasonable prices. I can’t figure out why it’s always empty! You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas, although the white tchopitpulas is my fav.

Alot of people don’t feel too good about this place but I don’t come here for pizza, i come for their pasta! This place isn’t too fancy but its convenient when i wanna grab some lunch especially since I worked next door. Also when you come in you need to seat yourself! The first time I’ve been here i got the Ponchartrain pasta which comes loaded with crawfish in a garlic cream sauce. They served a generous portion for $ 11.95! One Sunday after work, i met up with a friend and we decided to drop in for lunch. We share a plate of their Bouligny pasta which comes with shrimp, scallions, tasso tossed in a creamy sauce and shredded parmesan cheese on top. It was pretty good, i gotta admit i liked it more than the Ponchartrain pasta i had the first time. This plate is the only thing that keeps me coming back, otherwise this place is just your average joe.

Tried to go here on a Saturday night at about 7 or 8 and we were turned away because they were short staffed. Poor planning guys! They wouldn’t even let us order to go. I’ve never managed a restaurant in my life, but it seems to me that on a Saturday night during prime hours, you find a way to make it work to bring in business. Maybe you tell patrons that the wait will be super long, or that service will be extremely slow. But turning patrons away on a Saturday night? Not exactly a good business practice.

As a vegetarian in New Orleans, I’ve been eating a lot of pizza. And as a New Yorker, I’ve been disappointed with most of it. But Rocky’s must be the worst pizza I’ve ever had. My «French Market» veggie pie resembled nothing so much as a $ 3.00 supermarket frozen pizza — from the flavorless sauce to the cardboardy, repulsive crust. The crust is the real problem here. A fresh-made pizza crust, like fresh bread, has a gluteny, springy chew and some air bubbles from a quick yeast rise; Rocky’s crust is cardboardy, cracker-like, without any chewy or bready texture at all. I can’t imagine they make their crust on the premises: it’s too disgusting to be anything but a Sysco product. We stopped in here rather than the chain-tastic Regginelli’s down the block hoping for a more pleasant and local experience, and found terribly slow service and vile, execrable food. Won’t be back — sticking to Slice on Magazine and Fresco on Maple Street, or Angeli in the French Quarter, from now on.

I’m not sure how to feel about Rocky’s. I mean, I’m new in town and all. Philly is my pizza mecca so this is a tough sell. The crust was nice, the toppings were ace, the cheese was perfect for a cheese-a-holic such as myself(speaking…). Here’s the problem: an introvert steps into a bar… I mean, the food was good. I enjoyed being the only person there.(Then again, it was 8:30p on a Sunday.) But I wanted to eat, not discuss the finer points of Ayn Rand with the boppy little hipster working the tables. So I mostly kept my mouth full and hoped she would feck off after a while.(Which she did.) When she was tired of quizzing me about Objectivism, she started making really strange playlists on the inexplicable Powerbook sitting at the other end of the bar. It was surreal. I hope I was sober. Next time, take-out.

Friends brought a large cheese pizza home. Wonderful. Thin crust was the bomb. Can’t wait to try Rocky’s again.

Pizza in NOLA is hit or miss, and this place is a miss. Been there 2 – 3 times and been disappointed each time. Salads are mediocre, and the pizza is so-so(but overpriced). If they were $ 10 for a large pizza, I might have given 3 stars… In my humble opinion, WHOLEFOODS has better pizza than Rocky’s. Then again, Whole Foods’ pizza is pretty darn good… and relatively cheap, too(about $ 12 for a whole). For better, «gourmet» pizza, I’d head over to Reginelli’s. Whether you try Reginelli’s pizza or cheese bread, make sure you get the red pepper dipping sauce. Amazing!

I recently went to Rocky’s for the first time in years, and I was pretty disappointed. Their food(or at least the food I ordered) was pretty bland. A friend and I split a grilled chicken salad and a grilled chicken pizza(at the waitress’ recommendation). The salad was just a salad, nothing special at all. We got whole wheat crust on the pizza, and it was pretty good with a nice texture and a bit of added taste. However, both the tomato sauce and the chicken were very bland. Prices are reasonable for the type of food, the location is fantastic(great stretch of Magazine Street), and the décor is classy for a pizza joint. I’m not a big Reginelli’s fan, so I wouldn’t necessarily say go to Reginelli’s rather than Rocky’s if you’re on Magazine near Louisiana.

Oh, Rocky’s, how I once loved you. Your delicious pizzas, your yummy salads, your interesting music choices. But then you got sloppy; I would get a pizza with someone else’s ingredients slopped over on one edge. The service got… odd. Then that whole Katrina thing happened, and you abbreviated your menu. OK we all had to adjust but you never returned to your pre-K menu and you eliminated all my faves. Yes it is decent pizza but I go to Theo’s or Reginelli’s instead now.

Ewwww. Totally gross ingredients. Cardboardish, frozen tasting crust. Bland sauce. Terrible, oily cheese — and lots of it! Said the teenaged looking girl at the table next to us upon arrival of their pizza: «Would you like some pizza with your cheese?» I wrote a few weeks ago that I may have had the worst pizza ever in Golden, CO, but it was too soon. This is my new low point. I would eat Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Dominos, or Little Ceasar’s before coming anywhere near this place. Stop it, Rocky’s. Just let it go.
