This Rite Aid is so über-dated, and needs a serious face-lift. This drugstore may have had its hey-dey but it’s hard to look at with its dated shelving, lights out on the sign, hours sign haphazardly leaning in the window… The small parking lot is a skotch sketch-tastic. Don’t get me wrong, they have many of the same things any other drugstore has so if it’s close for you, you’ll probably be able to find what you need and the guy at the counter was really sweet and it sounds like other staff member are just as courteous. I just think this place needs a serious renovation. Serious.

Went to my very local rite aid today to buy Arizona tea, 2 gals for $ 5.00.The ad began today, September 7, 2014. There wasn’t a single gallon of this tea in the store, but there was a lot of Lipton gallons for more money. That’s bait and switch. Update– got a call from a Rite Aid on Terry Pkwy on the West Bank, probably about this tea issue. Missed the call. My local rite aid still has no tea, and it’s the middle of the week now! Very surprised they never got Arizona tea after my complaining.

Okay, I love this Rite Aid. Not because their store is brand new(definitely isn’t) or because their selection of greeting cards is diverse(definitely isn’t) but because of their pharmacy staff. I switched to Rite Aid like 6 or so years ago when Wal-Greens and that insurance company couldn’t reach an agreement or something(they did work it out eventually but I never switched back). Every time I go into this Rite Aid to pick up/drop off prescriptions, they have been so unbelievably fantastic. They’ve actually gone above and beyond what their job calls for on a couple of occasions to help me out. Even though I moved out of the neighborhood and the pharmacy is out of my way, I still continue to go. I can’t say enough good things about them.

It’s nice that this Rite-Aid is only 3 blocks away, but the hours could be better. They don’t open early enough for me to go before work, and they don’t stay open late enough to go get a late-night snack(and for me, late is 10−11pm). But again, the location is great if I’m going at a reasonable time.

I have read the other reviews and I understand. This is about my first and so far only visit to this business. Well, no one bothered me but I am sort of the kind of guy that is not bothered by those people. I was in need of a jump drive or a flash drive to make a copy of a video of a bottom feeder thief in my neighborhood. And so I went to the closest place to quickly get what I needed for the NOPD. It was kind of early and very few people around. But the two ladies in the store treated me with such kindness I am very happy to put up a Three Star. They went with me to the aisle where what I needed was located. And we had a very nice conversation that I am sure is not possible at busy times. This visit was nice and I was not there for any medication and did not deal with the pharmacist.

Meh is right. Always someone seedy outside waiting to greet me. As a whole the store isn’t that bad and has your basics. Someone inside always greets me, too. I guess that’s nice. The pharmacy apparently has their own hours to open up, so don’t think you can run in when they open to nap your script– that will literally never happen. I almost always have to wait a few minutes so I always go needing to get something else just to pass the time. Slowest check out too. I’m not sure what takes so long or why another employee doesn’t jump behind the other register when they get busy. That’s a mystery you probably don’t want to solve.

Can’t wait to switch my prescription to a place where the pharmacy employees don’t make me feel like crap for going there. To start off my most recent visit… the pharmacy opens at 9 and I watched as the women walked in at 9:05, saw me standing there, and took another 5 mins to open the windows. Then i dropped off my RX for something simple. While holding the box containing my rx INHERHAND, she asks me if i wanna wait for it… I said, «Sure, how long?» And she says«about 15 minutes». I know she said this just to piss me off. This particular employee always does crap like this. And, this is the 2nd month in a row where I use the automatic refill system by calling the store, punching in my RX #, and being told my RX would be ready on the next business day… then when I get to the store it is not filled. Whatever Too many bums in front of this store. I dont feel safe coming here after dark.

This little neighborhood gem is a one stop shop for just a little bit of everything. You can find a small selection of just about anything you would want. They got bourbon, duct tape, extension cords, garbage bags, Hair products, makeup, baby supplies, groceries and just a little bit of everything else. If you fill your prescriptions here when you are sick, the pharmacist will most likely call you a couple of days later and check up on you. She(the pharmacist) is also very helpful to very inexperienced first time moms(dads too, I bet). She helped me cure a diaper rash that was actually a yeast infection, gives me proper doseage info on Tylenol and other OTC meds, and was very helpful and sweet with a million other questions. The lines do get a little long sometimes as they do photos and Western Union, so avoid at peak times. The clerks all know me and my baby girl and when I don’t bring her in with me, they always ask about her. Just a little side note, I have noticed one or two if the ladies getting irritated with people that just wanna get in and out. They like you to make small talk. Once I heard one mumbling about how everyones always in such a hurry… bless her heart!
