This Rite Aid is legendary during Mardi Gras because it becomes the temple of booze for people on the parade route on account of it having a prime location right on St. Charles. Their booze selection is unusually comprehensive for a drug store(more than some grocery stores), their prices are excellent, and they also have a decent sized walk in freezer for beer. How many Rite Aids have that? I do have to say the construction on Louisiana makes the intersection at St. Charles a pain to navigate, but that’s not on Rite Aid. If you are visiting New Orleans and want to know a convenient place to get booze on the cheap for whatever adventure you are planning, this is the place to get it. Other than that this is a fairly typical Rite Aid.

I dislike this Rite Aid with a passion, but the woman who gave me my flu shot was extremely pleasant. The kind of person that leaves you feeling like the world is in a better place. On her merit alone, I bestow four stars upon this Rite Aid.

I’ve had it with this pharmacy. I’ve been using it because it’s the closest pharmacy to my house, but every time I’m rushing to get there before they close(I work super long hours, so it’s always a struggle), I get there at, say, 8:55 only to find the pharmacy is already shuttered and deserted. And if I ask any of the employees about it, point out that it’s not technically closing time yet and so I could I please pick up my stuff, they refuse and act like I’m way out of line for even asking. No thanks. I mean, it’s one thing for restaurant employees to play that, but we’re talking about medication I actually need, here.

Rite-Aid is fantastic; especially the alcohol selection. A walk-in beer freezer & it’s truly a freezer!!! Brrrrrr!!! I’m grateful for this Rite-Aid in particular as the location is optimal. Only other place to go for alcohol at a fair price is WallyWorld on Tchoup &&&&& ughhhhh, well that’s another review, but this location, as I stated if prime. It’s also worth noting the BOGO(buy one get one free) offers that are always abounding, ohhhhhhhhhh & don’t forget to scan your rewards card for the savings. Spacious store. Minimal parking. Relatively swift cashiers.

The make up astride aisle is beautifully organized and it contains the entire lines from Black Radiance and Black Opal.

To start on a positive note, the recent remodel is great! Gone are the old dingy shelves and especially the freezers, replaced by spacious well lit, bright, almost cheerful surroundings. For the beer drinkers, the new walk-in cooler must be heaven! So many choices, in bottles& cans of every shape and size, as well as shelves of hard liquor, wine, etc., so many that if you can’t find something, you aren’t looking :-) I would give my Rite Aid(I live very nearby), 5 stars, if their ordering and,/or shelf stocking procedures, or rather lack of, at times makes it very difficult to find what you want. It seems that it would behoove a business to stock an item, when a regular customer, who spends a ton of $ there, begs the mgr., to keep the item on the shelf. When the item was out, it was almost 3 weeks before it was replenished, at which time, it went quickly, and as of today, still nothing, it’s been over a week already! Also, needed cat food, shelves empty, except for 2 bags of one brand,&1 bag of another, with at least 6 or 7 empty slots, one of them being my usual brand. I mentioned this to the cashier, during checkout, he stated, «Oh, they need to put some more out.» I thought whichever was the case, whether there was none to be had, or they were there, but not avail to buy, the result, not good! So, please, newly remodeled St. Charles Rite Aid, please, step up to the plate! Don’t force us to have to go to Walgreen’s for ice cream and kitty food! Besides that, their reward card program bites! Rite Aid has the best, with up to 20% savings, when you have spent a prescribed amount, then, after the first year, you don’t have to start over, you receive the same discount in the new year, and as long as you reach the amount for the new year, you will be able to keep it for the next, well, you get the idea… Most of the employees are delightful, some, like Betty, are also playful & fun, but all appear to take an interest in & assist their customers, especially their regular ones! Thanks Rite Aid, and please keep the shelves and coolers stocked!

This is a review of Rite Aid during carnival time. Located on the corner of St. Charles and Louisiana, this location is very convenient to the uptown parade route. I was in desperate need of supplies(beer), and this wasn’t too far from me. As I entered I realized there was a traffic control system in place. Two employees directed me one way so that I didn’t interfere with the other customers making their purchases. Once I was in the aisles, I realized they had stacks of items forcing me to follow their intended route. It made the crowded store much more manageable. Even though it was Mardi Gras the beer prices were reasonable. The staff was very friendly despite the throngs of drunks in and out of the store. In summary, Rite Aid did a great job with the Mardi Gras crowd, I will have to return and see how they do on a regular day.

I only go to this Rite Aid as a last resort. Every time that I have been here there were a number of people slumped against the wall in the parking lot asking for quarters and some more people inside bothering you for something else. Overall, I just feel uncomfortable going in and out of this store. I’d rather drive a few more minutes to another location.

I come here from time to time, usually picking up a bottle of wine on my way home. The staff is friendly enough(for the most part), but I’ve gotta say at times I’m thrown off by the weird atmosphere at the check-out counter. Instead of a professional, ‘let’s get the customers checked out and on their way ASAP’ attitude the manager sometimes chooses to take his time(and mine) and while making sure to flirt with each female employee on his way to the register he also makes sure that the teller in need of a void or whatnot feels stupid for making a boo boo. Otherwise, it’s a nice store with a wide selection of products.

I am the duchess of this Rite Aid. I will probably remain the duchess of this Rite Aid forever, because I live next door and spend most of my time here(did I just admit that to everyone on the internet?). Maybe I’m biased because all the people who work here know me now, but I find them to be much friendlier than anyone who works at the 24 hour Walgreens down the street, and very helpful if I need to find something(which doesn’t happen often now, since I know the aisles by heart. .. oh jeez, I need to get a life). A new addition(well, new-ish) to Rite Aid is the Rite Aid Wellness Card. This thing makes shopping there an entirely different experience. You know how pharmacies like this overcharge you for everything, and you are much better off going to Walmart?(ew, Walmart) Well, if you shop enough at Rite Aid and use the Wellness Card, eventually you will get 20% off everything in the store(except booze and cigarettes). That makes it comparable with Breaux Mart, at least! And frankly, that’s good enough for me. In lieu of a grocery store next door, this is as good as it gets. In related news, my laziness knows no bounds.
