The atmosphere was great. The service was fair. The meatball was tasty, texture of the inside of the meatballs was mushy, the food was lukewarm, very little«red gravy» on the pasta. Restaurant called Red Gravy, one would think there would be a little more sauce on the pasta. I felt the meal was over priced for the quality and quantity.

Fancy place, soft lighting. Avg food, high prices. More workers than necessary — a lot of milling about. 2 pancakes & a decent coffee came to $ 20. No wifi.

Very disappointed place. Slow service and overpriced. A pasta without meat is $ 20 and it took 45 minutes to come. Seriously? I don’t understand where the good reviews come from. They charge 20% gratuity ahead of time, so be careful not double tipping.

Overpriced breakfast!!! Decent breakfast but not mind blowing. It was Sunday morning, and we were headed to The Ruby Slipper but reverted to this place because the wait at The Ruby was 1+hour. My fiancé ordered the Lou’s Plate and I ordered the«special» King Cake French Toast. The food was decent, but definitely not worth the premium price tag. Come to find out, what was so «special» about the King Cake French Toast was the price! After receiving our bill we found out it was $ 20 just for the French toast plate!(Price not advertised) $ 20!!! For two pieces of bread and a sliver of King Cake. Seriously folks! The plate was on the small side compared to the rest of the dishes on the menu and was half the size. I had to order a side of eggs($ 7.00) just to be full. Breakfast is one of the most inexpensive meals(ingredients wise) to make but here you’ll pay a pretty penny. My guess is that you pay a premium for the ambience here. So my meal including coffee was $ 30. FORBREAKFAST! This place is getting«3 stars» from me for very specific reasons: 1– Ambiance. It’s a quaint little café on a New Orleans side street and the feature homemade pottery as their serving pieces. Cute. 2– Entertainment. There was a banjo player in the corner by the bar. It was a nice dose of New Orleans flavor to have a banjo player. Maybe if you’re hungover you wouldn’t appreciate this as much as we did. But we liked it. 3– Service. The waiter was attentive. He never let my cup of coffee go all the way empty.

Excellent food! We stayed at the nearby JW Marriott and walked to the Red Gravy for breakfast. There was a short line out the front of the restaurant which is a sign of great food. They did not disappoint! I ordered the Roe’s Breakfast which was so original, high quality ingredients and a very hearty serving. Their coffee was also excellent! It was go good we went back the next day! It is a relatively small café with tons of personality. A great find!

Very cute, cozy restaurant. We went for brunch on a Saturday so you will probably have to wait. Our wait time was probably 30 – 40. Tip, you can’t wait inside due to fire regulations so keep that in mind on cold and/or rainy days. Service was great. Took the server’s recommendation for a raspberry fizz mimosa. Amazing. Get that. I had pasta and my boyfriend had a po boy. His sandwich was PACKED with shrimp and delicious. My pasta was very good. The only downside was that I think for the Unilocal«$$» review it was a bit on the pricey side. I was visiting so perhaps the ratings are a little different here due to cost. Great experience! Again, the raspberry fizz. It’ll change your life!

This place was our favorite breakfast spot while on vacation. Let’s see… my boyfriend had Lou’s breakfast — eggs, pancakes, sausage — he loved it. Another pal got the meatballs… they were HUGE! But delicious! And my friend and I got the pecan waffles… best we have ever had hands down! Will definitely be back on my next trip down.

Great place! Original recommended place was 1.5 hour wait… We walked and got here and an so happy we did! Great space, décor, bar, and banjo player! Polpettta omelette and canoli pancake for dessert(I like every meal to have dessert!!) Boyfriend and I shared both and it was delicious!!! Also a fabulous bloody(virgin) Mary! Thank you red gravy for a first brunch in the city!

Overall, delicious and would definitely return! Three of us dined here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They had plenty of staff and plenty of tables and bar seats still available. They sat us in the far back as I asked to sit away from the door to avoid the chilly weather(and a surprise bonus was that we could hear the musician better!). Our server was pleasant and polite. He gave us great suggestions and was kind enough to answer questions, both about the menu and the New Orleans area. The coffee and food was delicious! We all ordered something with the meatballs and it was definitely worth it. The wait for our food was appropriate and not slow. Great service and defi, itely worth the wait if you have to wait for a table!

This is an interesting spot with some unique breakfast choices. We ordered the eggs Sicilian and eggs Florentine. Both were excellent. The eggs are baked in small dishes with cheese. A basket of biscuits had to be ordered separately, as all bread does in this place, but they were still very good. All in all a very good choice for breakfast with some unique choices. I’d recommend it over some of the more popular spots in the area without a second thought.

This place has nice ambiance, very nice, and the food is pretty tasty. I had the pecan waffle, which was delicious. Unfortunately, I headed straight to the airport and didn’t eat for another 12 hours so I was pretty wiped out by dinner time due to the carb-bomb It’s a little pricey, and the service, though friendly and attentive, is a trifle slow. I ended up taking my card to the guy rather than do the four part(bring check, come back for card, bring charge receipts, etc) Also, the person that was assigned as «hostess» seemed to just randomly assign tables or tell people to sit wherever. She sat us very close to the door, so every time someone came in(the restaurant wasn’t crowded), it was like they were on top of us. Nice place, I’d go back and just try to manage the seating and the check out. And the carb bomb :-)

Excellent food. Small quaint place. Great for intimate setting. I love their red sauce and meatballs. I try to make it here when I come to NOLA. I recommend it if your in the mood for Italian.

Red Gravy is a fantastic spot for brunch! It was near our hotel so we frequented it while in town on business for a week. The owners are from NJ, so travelling from PA we felt at home and understood the concept of red gravy(as in the food). The service is friendly and attentive. Try the praline pancakes! On the day I left NOLA, they fit me in for a quick brunch before my flight. I was ever appreciative, as I was short on time(and they were packed). I was so sad to say farewell to Red Gravy.

This is my essential breakfast for every day that I am in New Orleans. I was treated to an off — menu item, the meatball breakfast sandwich. Ciabatta bread with a meatball, scrambled egg, and tomato. It was so big that I initially bit from eachelement(bread, meatball, scrambled egg, tomato) separately. each element was fabulous on its own. The ciabatta was baked that day and amazing. The scrambled egg was delicious. The meatball was amazing by itself. The tomato slice was so good that I had to ask the owner about where those tomatoes come from. I am only giving four stars because this is the only item I have tried off the menu, and I don’t want to try anything else. Delicious!!!

Nonetheless disappointed-no gluten free bread but only deserts from the local gfree bakery they proudly disclaim in one of the 3 bulky menus seriously 3? Gee I wonder if it took the same effort to order g free bread from the same gfree local bakery??? Decorations-overboard! Less is more… don’t take it for granted. The place is quaint and sells«the home experience» the coffee machine that looks like an iMac — sore in the eyes-prices? Are you for real? Overpriced for a place that advertises an experience in the ad and delivers subpar. On a good note the taste of the food — phenom — fix the rest will ya?

This was a cute, quiet find in downtown New Orleans. A little pricey for lunch, but we were expecting that. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly. Guitar player sings and plays while you eat. Very large portions — Try the Fried Chicken BLT :) Would return.

Nice, cozy little Italian place right down the street from our hotel. The special board outside looked interesting so we decided to stop in. Service? I’d say our waiter and the host were both typical of the area — pleasant and enjoyed making conversation with their two guests. I got the mushroom lasagna. I was picturing a typical square with mushrooms where there would typically be meat and/or cheese, but this was definitely more rustic and just huge! If you don’t live in the area, then this is probably something good to get if you have a refrigerator and microwave in your hotel(and we did not) or if you are staying with friends. Or if you want to give a homeless person some leftovers. It was good, very cheesy and filled with mushrooms, but I couldn’t eat more than about ¼ of it. I would definitely come here again if in the area, but I might order something a bit smaller!

We had a great lunch here! Quiet and intimate but not too silent so you can have good convo. We had a meat and cheese board with some sangria that was yummy. I had the largest meatball sandwich on the face of this earth and it was heavenly. I also tried some of the chicken parm sub and it was also divine. They had homemade pasta that looked great… basically nothing on the menu or what we saw being ordered looked like it would be bad. I am still full from all of the wonderful places to eat in this wonderful city
