Man, I don’t know what to say about this place. I love the concept, but the prices… good Lord. Let me fill you in: I would never call myself an expert, but over the past year I have learned quickly what people are willing to pay for older oddities. My grandmother passed away and we had to clear out her house with two estate sales and a garage sale. Things we expected to get money for sold for barely anything. That’s why this place confuses me. Walking in, you feel like you are walking into your grandmothers junk room. There is a little bit of everything from days gone by: rotary phones, old magazines, old kid’s books from the 50’s, prints of different types and much more. They have a huge selection of stuff like that. My issue is the prices. For example: they have an old rotary phone that they are trying to sell for $ 45. My grandmother had two phones like that and we barely got $ 10/each for them. I found one on eBay for $ 24, shipping included Truthfully, you could go to a garage sale and get one for even less than that. And why are you selling books with broken spines for $ 10+? I get that they are from the 50’s and probably out of print, but come on. Unless you are lucky enough to get a collector in there who is looking for that specific book, there is no way you are going to get someone to pay that. Then there is the magazines. It’s awesome that you have old fashion magazines from the 70’s, but for $ 30? Good Lord, that’s a lotta money! Old prints are also about $ 45 which just seems excessive for what is basically a thrift store. If you are looking for something specific(and you are willing to really pay for it), then you should definitely makes this your first stop. Otherwise, this store is a browser and not a buyer.

Lots of kitschy vintage items with a definite point of view. Some items seemed high priced for their condition but others seemed fine. There’s everything from housewares to books to art to clothes in the shop so a little bit of shopping for everyone. The layout of the store is artistic rather than sectioned, so there are books throughout the store as well as different furniture areas, etc. It does give the slight impression of wandering through grandma’s garage sale… in a good way. The person staffing the store the day I was in was very nice and was trying to help a confused tourist. I’m sad that I didn’t make it back to buy the kitchen cart I was contemplating.

What a unique store. I love all the cool collections of stuff. If you are in need of Personalizing your space. This is a good place to start. From cool mid century modern furniture, old quilts, and fun little knick-knacks, art, and also the New Orleans-zy stuff too– that you can only get here ! Rene has a great eye for that special stuff– you won’t be disappointed!

Renee’s taste is great, and the stuff she finds(unlike a lot of other thrift shops), is always worth looking at. More than that, though, she has an amazing ability to find things. I honestly have no idea where she comes up with half this stuff. Old carousel toys from the 80’s? She’s never not friendly and her little puppy(Tater) is pretty much happy to see everyone.

Stopped by here today. The dog was cute but the items were oddly uninspired. The one item in the place I was interested in wasn’t for sale. Nothing to go out of your way for. The Girly said it kind of summed up the neighborhood in one store, More about looks and less about substance. Mostly boring.

Renee has an amazing eye. I did not expect to become so overwhelmingly charmed upon entering her shop but boy was I– so much so that I’m writing this review a week later from my home in Brooklyn. From the collection of miniature space needles to the unique art on the walls, this place is full of special stuff. I look forward to seeing what’s new here next time I’m in New Orleans!
