Very clean with pretty good size lot for location. Lots of gas pumps. Good looking meat. Lots of soft drinks, beer wine, groceries, t shirts. Meat counter. Hunt Brother’s Pizza and fried chicken. Okay employees

Cheap gas, but all the hoopla that comes with it… Ehhhhhhh me thinks not!!! Great in a pinch, until you can get to a REAL gas station. Again, cheap gas, but shady practices, next.

This is the only reasonably priced place to buy gas anywhere near here… at least out of the places I would trust enough to fill up my car. They also have a relatively extensive selection of food and convenience store items(and booze!) They have 3 cashiers, so check-out is always fast(I stop here on my way to work pretty often, and I’m in and out in a couple minutes.) The location is pretty convenient to(it took me a while living in the Bywater to realize it, but N. Claiborne/Robertson is the best way to get around by car – you can bypass that annoying St. Claude RR crossing!) They also have Western Union. I’d rate them higher, but I had to use Western Union there the other day and they made me pay an extra fee to get my money. That is not how WU is supposed to work. I even filed a complaint on the WU site. They also have a credit card minimum on their gas pumps, so if you pump under $ 10 they charge you an extra fee… but there’s no sign at the pumps, so you wouldn’t know unless you went inside… which you didn’t do because you paid at the pump. Definitely some shady shit… Also, cigarettes are significantly cheaper at Hanks… but if you need to actually buy gas, this place is waaaay cheaper than the Franklin Shell. So to re-cap, I’d rate them lower for all their shady bullshit, but I’d rate them higher because this is THE place to buy gas and they have a pretty good selection of convenience items… so it evens out.

Is a part grocery store, part take out fried chicken/pizza, and part gas station. In Saint Roch, which isn’t the best neighborhood so stay away late night. Fried chicken is ok, but brother’s fried chicken blows it away. Pizza is not great, but it’s edible, and it’s cheap. Their ooey gooey cake(not sure who makes it) is blah. Paula Deen’s ooey gooey from Walmart is much, much better.
