Popeyes

Going through the drive-​through for a quick dinner after holiday shopping for quite a few hours! I was tired and they were relatively quick with two people in front of me.
If I’m eating by myself I usually get the fried shrimp, french fries, bicuit, extra tartar sauce and diet coke (ironic since it’s a chicken joint and the diet coke DOES eliminate all the fat I eat! hehe). But since I was with my Mom we ordered a three piece dinner (we don’t eat a lot) and extra red beans and rice and extra biscuit for me. After eating Popeye’s my entire life. I am addicted to the sides such as the buttermilk biscuits, red beans and rice, mashed potatoes and gracy, cajun fries, dirty rice (it’s not cajun rice dammit, it’s dirty rice!), etc. One time for New Year’s a bunch of my friends and I walked in and ordered a family size order of red beans and rice, dirty rice, and mashed potatoes and no chicken! The sales lady thought we were crazy but hey, we know what we want! Besides, the party had other dishes!
Actually, my brother and I usually get a box of Popeyes when we go to potluck parties (oh and we eat our biscuit before we go to the party so don’t count them! hehe)
This will sound blasphemous but I kinda like KFC’s original spice chicken better but hey, Popeyes is the best (don’t hurt me!).
Also, if I’m going to eat family style I usually get one of the family boxes with a side order of red beans and rice (naturally), biscuits, and mild chicken (don’t like spicy food too much except for cajun food!).
Just remember ya’ll, Popeyes DOES NOT taste the same outside of Louisiana as it does in Louisiana. I can attest to this after living in Chicago, L.A., Long Beach etc. that it just doesn’t taste right. So, feel lucky that we have the best damned Popeyes right here in our backyard! =)
