Compared to service and attentiveness: a 3-star. I mean, there is one employee working for a rather slow store. So if he or she leaves to use the bathroom, the register may be «unmanned,» and I’ve seen that happen where a guest waits for several minutes without being assisted because the attendant is in the bathroom doing bathroom stuff. On the plus side, due to its slowness, there is ample room compared to CCs on Esplanade and the Bean Gallery on N. Carrollton. I literally left CCs Saturday at noon to come here just so that I would have the space to do my work. So…even though it may not be the«best» place, I’d still come for convenience and space. P. s. Bike parking is unofficially anywhere. Officially there is none.

pretty much the same I give for all PJ’s…the coffee is average at best and the prices are more than real cafes who use TOPFRESH grounds from better coffees grown in Latin America and Africa. These beans are obviously the cheaper variety and I think the beans sit around a long time before roasting. Just not great coffee… compared to other locations nearby that have REAL specialty coffees brewed with care. This is really on the level of gas station blends or coffee you could get at non-cafes.

I used to be a regular, working my online job from this shop several times a week. The only reason I came here was because of the friendly staff and location near my house — otherwise, who wants to spend $ 4 for a damn drip coffee with every refill? Just found out they fired my favorite barista — Cassie — who was always super professional and personable, because she took a stand against using a harmful chemical to clean the machine. As in, she didn’t want to hurt customers. Barf. Don’t go here unless you want to support duchey managers and ingest chemical cleaners with your mediocre, expensive coffee. Taking my business to Fair Grinds.

Growing up with PJ’s, this is a very poor excuse for one. It was dirty… filthy is more like it. If I weren’t with someone, I would have left. The barista was too busy reading or something. Looked almost annoyed we wanted to order something. What were we thinking?! The counters needed a thorough cleaning. Actually, everything in that place needs a thorough cleaning. I was very unsure of my iced coffee. Scared was more like it. But because the person who I was with said he frequents this place often, I figured I wouldn’t die. The outside patio was just a gross if not worse. I know PJ’s has had their fair shares of up’s and down’s in the recent years, but come on at least keep it clean. Other locations do not look this. It’s just laziness. Needless to say I will not be patronizing this place again.

This PJs, it doesn’t quite do it. and I think I know why. No plates or proper cutlery. They obviously serve the go crowd in the morning. That’s fine, but I want a cup, and PJ’s is a place where I want to go and have a nice sit-down, maybe work, read the Gambit, and relax. This place is sterile, even after 4 years. Have a look at the uptown stores, willya? London

I took off one star because I wish their hours were longer so I could actually get work done there into the evening. I’m a night owl, what can I say! I wrote a very long tip and don’t have much to add so forgive the repetition. Once I moved into this neighborhood I didn’t even realize that this PJ’s existed in the American Can Company building. But a co-worker reminded me and I was thankful because I had to buy 19 $ 5 gift cards for work. Oh yeah, you read that right, I said nineteen $ 5 gift cards. So I strolled in with my happy personality and fortunately it wasn’t busy so I was able to get my gift cards for work. The barista was super nice and methodically got my gift cards with a smile. There was also some ink smearing when a pen exploded in the drawer where the gift cards were located but she wiped them all for me. She was so sweet she even threw in a cute straw gift bag for me which was just some lovely lagniappe! Support local ya’ll!

The coffee isn’t that great but at least they make up for it with terrible customer service!

this is my favorite PJ’s location. the staff is always friendly, and always willing to answer my random questions about coffee. altho the XL is almost 2x as expensive as a trenta at starbucks, i find myself going to PJs more and more… the iced coffee is my favorite, and add a little soy and caramel: PERFECTION.

I get my coffee here every morning. The staff is really friendly and usually already know what I want. The ham and swiss croissant is way too expensive but I scarf them b*tches down after 30 seconds in the microwave. I never drink Granita’s because they appear to have about 4000 calories in them, but I’ve actually seen somebody ask to have chocolate and caramel added to it. Gross. Iced coffee is on point and they have a lot of flavors – not syrups, they are roasted with the flavor.

The coffee is pretty good. Seating is limited and the staff is generally bizarre. Food choices are limited to generic pastries and muffins. Bathrooms aren’t always clean. But the coffee is pretty good.

I don’t know what it is about this PJs. Whenever I’m in mid city(which is pretty rare these days) I usually find myself here and I am usually left disappointed. It seems as if they are consistently out of 2% and whole milk(shouldn’t whole milk be a staple in a coffee shop? Kinda like… cups?) and they only offer half and half or soy milk, instead. Soy milk? In iced coffee? Yeah, I’ll take your word for it. I get the half and half, and it usually dilutes the whole flavor of the coffee, even if I just get a little. I do like the croissants, as they are usually pretty fresh, but compared to other PJs, the iced coffee here just isn’t to my liking.

Pj’s has the best iced coffee, and the folks at this location used to have my drink ready for me(iced coffee in the summer, hot in the winter) when I arrived at 6:45. You can’t beat that service. Not the greatest atmosphere for working or studying, but perfect for picking up a drink to go.

I’ll be honest. This PJ’s has been more convenient as a place to use the restroom during an epic Bayou St. John adventure, or festival, or whathaveyou. Yes, I’ve occasionally gotten coffee there; that is, I’ve gone there specifically for coffee once or twice. But I’m pretty sure I’ve stopped there to use the bathroom more times than I’ve gone for coffee. That said, they do make a decent iced mocha. Which is inevitable, because this is a PJ’s, and PJ’s makes the BEST iced mochas in the city. Hands down. Also, this one is conveniently located when you’re out running around and need to use the bathroom.
