Their service was fast, prices are extremely reasonable. The beef phở was some of the best I’ve had. Added bonus, the waitress was cute. Downside, I didn’t see an option for happy ending on the menu :^)

This was the last place we ate at before we headed back to Houston. I got the PHODACBIET and it was so disappointing. The broth was flavorless and bland, the meat didn’t taste fresh and were chewy, and they were skimpy when they gave us the veggie plate. A table of 4 girls and they gave us a small plate. The service was average. Your typical asian-run phở restaurant. I wouldn’t come back here again. I’ll stick to the phở in my hometown.

Currently having a job right around the corner from here, I am on the search for decent food in the area. I had eaten here in the past on a couple of occasions and I wish now I had remained with my previous opinion. The dining area is large, neat and clean. Today, I was the only customer in the middle of the afternoon, but shortly after arriving, another couple came in. In the past, I have been only one of a few white people in here to dine, which should say something that mainly asians are the clientele. I had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli to dine in and got the multi-colored dessert. The chicken was a bit on the tough side for me. But the food was hot, the dessert yummy. In the past, I found the meat to be tough on those visits as well. I also believe that there isn’t enough meat and noodles to other stuff ratio. There seemed to be an awful lot of filler stuff, which gives me a feeling of not enough value for the money, although the prices are very reasonable, so take that however you want. I see that previous reviews state that this is a cash only business, that must have been true a few years ago, but every time I have come, they have accepted credit cards. That is a good thing as I rarely carry cash, and few people I know carry cash. In closing, this will not be at the top of the short list of restaurants in the area for me to dine at, and the«other» ***cough***Dong Phoung***cough*** place is still my favorite.

Overall, decent bowl of phở. I got the Phở Bang Special. The soup broth was subpar, the flavor just wasn’t there. The rice noodle were average. My favorite part was the brisket and steak slice. They were high quality slices of beef.

Came here on a weekday and it was not busy. Order phở and it was mediocre. Nothing really special about this place but it’s a typical vietnamese restaurant in the east bank of New Orleans.

Landed at this spot with a few coworkers after we found out«the bakery» was closed on Tuesdays. It was a group of about 10 of us ordering just about everything on the menu. The food was excellent and I don’t think we would have gotten anything better anywhere else but the service was atrocious. The food took about an hour to get to us though I think they were overwhelmed by the number of people we brought in. It was about 1pm though and they have to know that when«the bakery» is closed Tuesday is probably going to be the busiest day. If your in the east and want Vietnamese your going to want to go somewhere else but if that somewhere is closed, this is a good supplement but be ready for the wait.

A staple for anyone working out it the sparsely populated New Orleans East. The phở is good, service is quick, great spot to grab a quick bite. If you’re noting the mood for phở get the D6(beef and rice). They just upped all of their prices 50 cents but thems the times I suppose.

I don’t normally go to the Eastbank often but when I do this is probably the only place my family and I dine at. It was Mother’s day and we stopped by to wish my grandma a good one. By the time we reached the restaurant it was pretty empty with four other tables occupied. We put our order as soon as we were seated. I opted for grilled meat, shrimp and eggroll vermicelli. Our order took a good 15 – 20 minutes to come out. My parents were a bit displeased being that we were one out of the five tables in the whole place. What I had wasn’t too bad but I was pretty famished by the time I got my food. The only thing I didn’t care for was the grilled meat. Everything else was pretty okay. My dad didn’t care for his Phở water. He felt it was old broth and my mom’s Bu Bo Hue wasn’t nothing too special. We made do with our meal and sat out the storm that came pouring down while we were eating. It was pretty cold in the place too for some reason so for those who get cold easily just come prepared with a cardigan or something just in case. I’m not sure how it’s like on any other normal Sunday being that it was a holiday weekend. I’m sure it’s usually even more busy with the Asian community after church on Sunday’s.

The food here is «PhoKing» good… lol. I live in Mandeville and rather drive 45 minutes to eat here than eat at any of the other phở places on the Northshore. And the Bathroom is always clean, they have been making Phở as long as I can remember… early 80’s? This is the best!!!

Located in the New Orleans east, my home, known as the Village of Versailles. WELCOME, COMEONOVER! Phở Bang also has another location located in the Westbank which I find to be a tad better, but is always busy! This Phở Bang, however. is more spacious and not always crazy packed unless on a Sunday after church, but most likely you’d find almost all Vietnamese places to be crazy on Sunday mornings. Extremely cheap and good food. I doubt the myth that they reuse their noodles… then you’d be able to taste the difference, but anywho. I LOVE their Che ba mau, it’s literally the bomb… very different from the traditional che ba mau and not overly sweet. Their phở broth is pretty yummy as well, not overly salty, sweet, or bland like some Vietnamese places make. AND they offer large or small size bowls. –Coming here I would recommend their phở, bun bo hue, bun w/charpork and/or eggrolls, or their rice dishes,. Skip the fresh rolls appetizers. The service doesn’t speak English very well, but they’ll get your order in and out fast. Patience is key!

I was far away from home in New Orleans, pulling license plates off my totaled car after having dealt with a food-poisoned boyfriend from 4 – 10AM when I left for work, so generally having a crap day, figured I’d get us some phở while I was in New Orleans East. There are no vegetarian or pescatarian soups, my only option as a non-meat eater was a grilled shrimp bun. Kind of bummed me out, but whatever, as long as there’s something I can eat. Ordered that and a brisket phở for Sir Pukes-a-Lot. Minimal atmosphere and all that in the actual restaurant, but you’re getting Vietnamese in the East for the food itself, not for the décor. The manager ran my food over to me when it was ready, as I had taken a seat at a table, I said thanks and left, drove 30 minutes back to NOLA, and goddammit, my food wasn’t in the bag. I hadn’t eaten since the day prior, as I left my own job early and without shift meal to pull my plates off my car before the lot closed. I was somewhat irate, so I called the business in hopes that they would rectify it in some way, as it’s frustrating to hand someone $ 10 to NOT give me the food I ordered. The only thing they offered in response to their error was that they would«remember me» when I came in next. I explained that I lived 30 minutes away and have NOREASON to be in New Orleans East, not to mention that I’m car-less for the moment being. I’m not going to drive an HOUR within the next week or so to get stupid bun. I asked them to send me something in the mail that I could present the next time I was over there, as I anticipated it being within like, six months, but not soon enough where they would«remember» me. I have a dumb facial piercing, but I don’t have a tattoo of an orca whale on my forehead or anything. I certainly wouldn’t remember me. I asked to speak to a manager and was denied that? Really shoddy customer service after having acknowledged that«the manager forgot to run [me] the rest of the food.» In retrospect, I should have asked them to write down my name and I could present an ID upon my next visit, but I doubt they would have cooperated with this idea either. Boyfriend said phở was«okay.»

I went here after reading Stephanies review because I’m also from Oakland and I was afraid the phở here wouldn’t live up to what we have in the bay. Thank goodness this place does! I had the rabbit phở and it was fan-freaking-tastic! I also order the spring rolls and they were very good, but the meat was a bit dry. Their peanut dipping sauce was great though. All the employees were super nice and it was a very welcoming environment. I’m definitely going back! Oh, and it’s super affordable.

Why are people afraid of New Orleans East? I’ve visited N.O. many times and staycationed with the locals(bf was born and raised) many times in the last few years and I am SO sad I didn’t come here sooner. The broth! Their broth!!! It is magic!!! I’m from the SF Bay Area where we have more Vietnamese restaurants than Po’ Boy restaurants in N.O. and I can’t honestly remember the last time I had phở this good. No really, I love phở. I’m from Asian-land-California. We have A LOT of good Asian food. I am being very genuine and honest when I say: EATHERE.

I finally made my way to Little Vietnam after I lived in New Orleans! Sadly, I was a little underwelmed. The service was fine but nothing to write home about. You can say the same for the food. I judge my Vietnamese on the Spring Rolls. Hoping the product would be «the freshest thing I’ve ever eaten» since we were so close to the ocean, I was let down. However, it was still fine. The Phở was descent but my pants weren’t wowed off.

During my third or fourth trip here, i was having my typical bowl of Phở Tai, working my way toward the bottom of the bowl, when I found a napkin at the bottom, hidden under the noodles. this had lead me to believe that: THEYSERVERECYCLEDSOUP. whatever you don’t finish goes back in the pot. i will never return.

I hate travelling during the holidays. We have a bad habit of leaving town when places are closed for the holidays. In the summer of 2011, we went to Nashville over the 4th of July holiday. New Orleans was planned over New Year’s, and we tried to hit some places on the first. This led us to Phở Bang. My wife was determined to give me a tour of New Orleans. Travelling to Little Vietnam was not something that I had in the plans. We drove to the edge of the city to an industrial part of town to check out Dong Phuong, a Vietnamese restaurant with somewhat historical interest. Being New Year’s Day, this place was naturally closed, so we were in the middle of nowhere and hungry as hell. We settled on Phở Bang, and neither of us were horribly impressed. The spring rolls weren’t wrapped very well, and the inside were spilling out while we were trying to dip them in the sauce. We both ordered phở, and I felt like it was pretty middle of the road. There wasn’t anything particular wrong with our bowls. The quantity was pretty impressive. However, it was our final meal in NOLA and somewhat disappointing. We really need to plot our trips better.

Why does the Category say«Korean, Vietnamese»? This is confusing and stupid. It is also a lie. The third of three Phở Bangs in the Greater New Orleans area, and an all around solid, standard phở place. Came by here with a few people after visiting the boyfriend at work. We ordered: 1. Lemonade: the kind with lemon pulp, sugar, and a side of club soda to pour in. Never fails. 2. Phở Bo — Brisket and meatballs. 3. Phở Tai Nam — Rare steak and flank/brisket meat. 4. Pork Chop Dac Biet — My favorite! Grilled pork chop, shredded pork, egg cake, rice, and some sliced cucumbers and other pickled veggies. Sometimes I make Daniel bring this home takeout for me… especially the little eggy cake. Also came with a bowl of phở broth. Their broth is flavorful and has minimal MSG = NOHEADACHES. Score! Service is standard Vietnaemse to me, grumpy old dudes who sigh when they have to come talk to you and bring everything out super fast. Prices are pretty cheap, about $ 6 per plate/bowl. CASHONLY.
