My insurance changed, which turned out to be a great thing. We found the most pediatrician for the kids. They have two locations. One Uptown and the other is in Metairie. More importantly one of the best pediatricians practice here. Dr Michael Heller. I take both my kids here. Highly recommended. Office can be busy at times, but they have an overall friendly staff. Very important when dealing with children. Clinic is also affiliated with Children’s Hospital, which is a huge plus. So if you are looking for a pediatrician for your little ones this would be a wonderful option.

Both of my children have been seen by Dr. Solis, one of the many fine pediatricians at this office, since birth. They have 2 offices; this one and another one just off the Causeway exit on I-10 in Metairie. They have super convenient Saturday hours and a great after-hours network of Dr. s to help you with any late-night potential emergencies. I used this service once and got a quick call back with some great advice. It’s an extremely rare occasion when I have to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. I prefer the Napoleon Ave. office because the waiting room is MUCH bigger and the toys are more accessible to the little ones. The staff is amazing as well. At the front desk they have always been happy(seriously, they seem genuinely happy!) to be helping me with billing/insurance/other not-so-fun stuff. The nurses and doctors seem to absolutely adore children and have been so loving and understanding when my kids flop around on the examining table like flounders. I often need to bring both kids at the same time even though only 1 needs a check-up but Dr. Solis always asks me about the well-being of the other child. He does a quick and appropriate inspection of the other kid to address my concerns right then and there. Even in a big city you feel like you have a small town doctor. One thing I’m not a fan of is making an appointment. Because they deal with such a high volume of kids you need to make sure that you set aside at least 10 minutes for a phone call so that you can get in the phone queue. My fiancé was also informed that they don’t make the schedule more than a month in advance so, if you want to set up a follow-up appointment while you’re actually at the office to avoid the long phone call you may not be able to do so.
