One of the reasons why I love New Orleans is the food. And I am not silly enough to think that I am alone in this. All I have to do is look at Café du Monde and Central Grocery and marvel at the long lines of people trying to be seated and get beignets and muffuletta, respectively. These two NOLA specialties being among my favorites, finding out about Moonwalk was a godsend! So this is what I do. I get a half muffuletta and Zapp’s Crawtators from Central Grocery then a bag of beignets from Café du Monde. From there, I climb up the steps to the little park with a cannon(I cannot remember the name of this little spot, ugh!), which is situated right across from Jackson Square and Saint Louis Cathedral. Then I go towards the river and to Moonwalk and find a cozy spot on the stairs descending towards the river. Why do I do this instead of going to Jackson Square? Because I love the water. And eating my favorite foods while watching the mighty Mississippi is more preferable to me than sitting in a square(however historic or charming said square may be). Moonwalk is just a quiet-ish place to eat and dawdle. Bonus: you can hear the musicians who park themselves at Café du Monde!
