So I decided to try this Chinese food restaurant because it is right around the corner from my home. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and my mother ordered the general Tao’s chicken. Everything was going fine until my mother discovered she had a ROACH in her meal. Please do not eat there clearly, they are not passing health code violations because if they was they will not have ROACHES in there their customers food, When we gave the food back the guy got a little agitated and it seemed as if he didn’t want to give us our money back because we open the containers. I am finish with this with this review I am just very very disgusted oh my gosh again please do not eat there

Its my go to chinese take out place. Nothing too fancy, just dependable. The general tso is pretty delightful and the lo-mein is great the next day when all the flavors meld together. They know how to fry and eggroll that’s for sure. This and the shrimp toast are worth the trip alone(I normally get the pu pu platter which has both)

All around a decent take-out Chinese restaurant. Since my job has moved, so too, have I had to find a new take-out Chinese place and I’m glad this place is here. The reason I’m giving this place 3 starts instead of 4 or 5 is because: 1) The parking SUCKS 2) Their rice is just… ok. It’s that yellow fried rice that just doesn’t have the same taste 3) Their pepper steak wasn’t as flavorful as it could be. Seemed bland. But even with that going on, I’ll still eat here once a week or so because their Seseme Chicken is EXCELLENT(hot, crunchy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside and lots of sauce), their Hunan Beef is damn good and they will do just about ANYTHING, it seems, to please the customer. Their prices are just right, too. The older gentleman might not be good with his english, but he knows how to treat customers with warm friendly service. Sometimes, maybe too friendly. I’ve seen him try his best to please some pretty nasty customers. Nasty customers that are either just plain stupid or who are just naturally ill-mannered. He doesn’t care. He will do his best to please them and make them happy.

I just LOVE the chicken wings, egg rolls, special fried rice, the triple delight and that sesame chicken. And when they tell you 10 minutes, they mean it! Yasssss!

Was craving Chinese this weekend so checked out Unilocal to see what others were saying about the sad state of Chinese affairs in New Orleans. This place came up and was ranked pretty high. Since it’s down the street from me, I decided to check them out. Tried to find their menu online but wasn’t able to track one down. Figured it was Chinese so I could wing it. Placed a to go order and was told it’ll be ready in 10 mins. Despite myself, I went ahead and headed down there. When I got there, there was one person in front of me. She was paying for her order then promptly sat down at one of the 3 tables in the place. The lady behind the counter looked at me, stared then went back into the kitchen. 10 minutes later, she emerged again when the other lady’s food was ready. Still no acknowledgment but we’ve already had a 2 min. staring contest so I know she’s seen me. Finally when she handed the bag to the other customer did she ask,“What do you want?” I told her I was here to pick up. Without saying a word, she went back into the kitchen. 15 minutes later, she comes back with the bagged food in hand. Checks me out and I promptly head home. Sweet and sour soup– pretty good. Lots of stuff in there. Good flavors. Crab rangoons– have no idea why other Unilocalers are raving about them… I’ve definitely had better. Tasted like they were fried in really old oil. And they soaked up most of the grease. Boneless chicken(lunch special) — good amount of food. Flavorful veggies and decent chicken So overall, I’ll probably order again since they’re in my neighborhood. But only if Yummy Yummy is closed for the night.

This is my «go-to place» for good and fast Chinese takeout. The staff are always nice, know me and the consistency is good. I can honestly say I eat here several times a month and never disappointed when trying a new dish on the menu.

I understand this is a hood Chinese food place however that’s no excuse for my experience to have been that bad. I call and ask if they have won ton soup, the woman on the phones response is «what size» I’m like huh she’s like«small or large?!» I go to pick my food up a man says«hi how are you» but turns & walks away shouting something in another language before I can respond. I go to pay when I try to hand her my card she says«you don’t have cash?» Like seriously they know nothing of customer service. Then when I get home it’s the worst won ton soup I’ve ever had. The only vegetable in sight is some green onion at the bottom, it taste like grease and the soup color resembles urine.

Solid local Chinese take out! Not afraid to make this our new Sunday night treat every now and then, having just moved a few blocks away. Generous portions, freshly cooked. Worth keeping a menu on your fridge for when the craving hits.

I have tried to order food from here over the course of 2YEARS simply because they are the ONLY Chinese restaurant that makes honey garlic chicken in Nola. I still haven’t been able to try it for various reasons. At first to even order delivery I had to have at least a 30 $ bill for a credit card. Fine whatever but I didn’t have cash. Next time they told me I had to have a 30 $ bill even if it was CASH. So the third time I tried I made sure we were going to order A LOT of food. Oh guess what? They don’t deliver to banks and broad? Um that’s interesting because neighbor just got take out from you the other day. This is the fourth time. Made sure I’m in the right location, large enough of an order… But wait, whats the problem? OH they don’t have a delivery driver today, maybe tomorrow, try again. Seriously?! This place can kiss my ass. Keep your shitty bland food. I’ll keep my money and go to Lil Tokyo.

I have nothing to complain about. It was fast, fresh, cheap, and plentiful. The minimum for ordering was $ 25, and this was enough food for 6 large meals.

I reviewed this take out 8 months ago, and sadly I have to take away two of their stars. Its so so bland now, and it makes me sad. Don’t bother.

Ming Garden, you deliver. You make a killer homestyle tofu. The crab rangoon are just what you think they’ll be. The spring rolls are not too great, which surprises me, but I leave them in the fridge and heat them in a pan the next day, which makes them tastier. They take credit cards for orders over $ 30.

Ehhhh. My quest for good chinese food continues. I was excited to see Orange Chicken on the menu. Alot of places around here dont have it, and its my fav. sigh. But then I was dissapointed when I opened the box to see what was basically chicken fingers with orange sauce on it. The menu did say it was«battered» but thats normal for the orange chicken, seasame chicken, and general tso’s chicken. It has a crispy coating that I love. Not this orange chicken. It was a thick batter that got soggy from the sauce. The flavor of the sauce was good. I might ask to have them prepare the chicken another way next time and see if the accomodate. Not completely horrible, I’d try it again.

Good food, close to my house. No complaints here. It’s a little on the bland side, which I think is kind of a good thing when it comes to Chinese take-out, but ask for extra spicy on the szechuan and such if you actually want some spice in it, and grab some soy sauce packets. EDIT: the last few times I’ve been in here, it smelled like a straight-up fart and I had to leave. A restaurant should not smell like a fart. Whoever keeps farting in here, please stop thx.

I have really warmed up to this place over the last year. We have tried a variety of things on the menu, all completely satisfactory, but MY favorite thing lately has been the Chinese Vegetables in Garlic Sauce. Any time I am needing some fast, yummy lunch, this is where I go. For less than $ 8 I can get lots of fresh vegetables and enough for two meals!

Food here is pretty good. The hot & sour soup is awesome! Not the best Chinese food ever but great for quick take out close to home. Try sesame chicken, generals chicken, crab Rangoon, hot & sour soup, bean curd w/veggies, and beef pepper steak.

Well worth adding to your take-out options if you leave in the area. As others have noted, the portions are generous, the place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. Won’t knock your socks off but you won’t be disappointed. We’ve gone twice so we’ve had 4 entries. The shrimp in the shrimp with lobster sauce are huge. The spicy garlic chicken and the muu shu pork were both good … this is NOT one of the places that piles on the grease and leaves you feeling ill afterward. Our only disappointment was the spare ribs were very fatty so I would skip them. The nonspicy dishes are pretty mild but you can always add salt or your own spices if you want to.

They’ve since added some more tables, and we have tried the beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken, lo mein and a few other dishes. All were great, though the kung pao could’ve had a a a little more flavor.

I live a couple of blocks from this place and eating there with increasing frequency, so I thought it might be time to write a review. As the previous reviewer stated, the crab rangoon is great! The sesame chicken and triple delight are also particularly good. I have a somewhat sensitive stomach and nothing I’ve eaten here has thrown me for a loop. The portion sizes are huge and the prices are cheap. The combo dinners are enough for two adults with leftovers for lunch. The standard a la carte items are enough for 4 people with healthy appetites. The folks who work there are super nice, so go out and support your local Chinese take-out restaurant!
