Gumbo is watery, tasteless, will little mushy grains of rice. I do not recommend going to this restaurant. I see why it is empty on a Friday night.

Don’t go there! The décor is terrible, the food barely average and the service appalling! We were there last night, we stood a good 5min in the entrance waiting area without anyone there to greet customers. We got sited and had to wait for 10 min before anyone came to take our drink orders. They had a holiday menu with very little choices. I had the Napoleon which was really a very thin zucchini slide deep fried and greasy with a couple of small shrimps in remoulade sauce, and then the salmon(very greasy as well) that was supposed to be served with blue crab and Brie orzo, but I could not really find the blue crab, or the Brie… The waitress was unprofessional, removing only some of the plates between servings, the food was cold for a couple of us when it got to our table, and she wasn’t even pleasant! A bad experience all over.

If I could score a zero, I would. Service is absolutely horrible. We were the only party dining but there were long gaps of time between each course. The waiter was not attentive and rude. I always see the place empty when I walk by and now I know why. Will never dine here ever again.

We only stopped in here for the breakfast buffet, but it was a buffet above the rest. They had fresh fruit, assorted pastries, grits, hash browns, sausages, biscuits, gravy, eggs, and bacon. The grits and sausages were by far the best part!

Despite a few mediocre reviews online, we placed our faith in MiLa for pre-LPO reservations. We arrived at the same time as another party that also had a reservation, on time and well before the show. There was no one at the hostess station and no one at the bar. After waiting several minutes in indecision, we encountered two employees rushing in to grab drinks from the bar. They ignored us. Eventually someone came and seated the other party. We continued to wait. One of the employees that had pulled drinks came to let us know someone would seat us soon. The other employee came to the hostess station shortly after, found our reservation in the system and seated us. We mentioned our hope to make it to LPO as we proceeded through the restaurant. We waited at our table quite a while before anyone came. When our server came, we ordered drinks and entrees while politely mentioning our symphony plans and a small concern that the ample time we’d planned in might be gone. She took our orders and disappeared for a long time. Drinks came. Later, food came, at which time we asked for the bill. We ate the delicious and beautifully prepared food as quickly as we could, signed the check and dashed for the Orpheum. While we thought the food was exceptional, the stress of this restaurant’s lack of staff, leadership and initiative will strongly give us pause about returning.

Had a bunch of work to do last night so I stayed in at the hotel. I don’t usually write reviews on hotel restaurants cuz they’re mostly just ok. but the room service I had last night was very good. black and red fish cooked perfectly not too well done. boudin balls which I had to try and were very good. Caesar salad very nicely dressed. and a great coffee crème brûlée. Breakfast was okay in the restaurant but not as good as my room service last night. If you are staying at the Renaissance Marriott and don’t want to go out you can trust that the room service will be good

We found the restaurant from Frommer. We had a reservation and cam late after being detained by barricades on the streets for one of the countless parades leading up to Martin Gras and were forgiven and welcomed despite being 30 mins late. The atmosphere is excellent with nice décor and cozy booths. The service was fantastic and the food was awesome. We really loved the service by a cute lady Zanderland who was very nice and we would recommend Mila to anyone who plans a visit to NOLA

My first experience was one star. It took over an hour to get my food. I ordered an organic salad with fried oysters and gumbo. I also ordered beignet. After an hour and fifteen minutes, I asked for an eta. Another fifteen minutes. They informed me after an hour + of waiting that they ran out of beignets. The service was better the second time around. The last time I ate here the food took awhile to get to the table. However the basil pappardelle was excellent. The portions are small not like the typical restaurant in New Orleans. The pasta was made from scratch. This simple dish had layers of rich flavors. I left wanting more. We paid five star restaurant prices, got small portions and the staff wore jeans.

I came here for drinks and Henry made the 2nd best cocktail I have ever had in my life. I travel the country 90 nights a years. His sazac is the best I have ever had. He is a true master craftsman of this drink and takes such pride in making it. This is a must stop in nola just for this cocktail.

Don’t waste your time. This restaurant should have changed it name after loosing its head chef and getting a totally new menu. Food: The Fried Green Tomato appetizer tasted like mayo and horseradish with no crab flavor at all. My lamb burger was over powered by the bleu cheese. The pasta sauce was oily. Wine: The corkage fee was $ 15. Service: Our waiter was working incredibly hard but they clearly need more staff.

We were staying at the Marriott and didn’t feel like going far for food or ordering room service so figured we’d try the hotel restaurant. I ordered the French toast which lacked flavor. It was four triangles and fruit, for $ 9. My boyfriend did the breakfast buffet which offered eggs, grits, sausage, cereal, fruits, bagels and pastries. It included juice or coffee for $ 12. I tried a bagel and it was hard like it had been out all day. The sausage was really good, the scrambled eggs weren’t bad either considering there was no option to add cheese. Our waitress was nice and kept out water glasses filled.

Two of my favorite meals in New Orleans were here. So sad it’s closed. First time was a wonderful third date with my now-boyfriend of 4 years — attentive staff and interesting food with my. Second was college graduation — again, quiet attentive staff, interesting food but also classic for those with less adventurous tastes. I always appreciated how quiet it was, no hustle and bustle, so we could just enjoy each other and the food.

MiLa was good, but not great. I was really looking forward to eating here based off of some of the menu options that I have read about in other reviews, but was very disappointed by the menu on the night of our dinner. Three of six dinner entrée options were sandwiches, which I expect of a lunch menu, but not dinner. Since I wasn’t really looking for a sandwich, I got the pork chop, which was good and a huge portion(probably too much). My boyfriend got the flat iron steak which was good and a fairly small portion(probably a bit too small). I guess I just expected more consistency and a little more creativity.

Disappointing steak, fish and chops. Desert was the best as well as French Press coffee and crème brûlée. Lots of empty seats, so great for a Saturday night if all else full.

Visited 8÷2÷2014 during my bday weekend festivities. It was ok. Not great. Not bad. Just ok. SERVICE Average at best. The place was not busy when we went(3 or 4 tables) but somehow our waiter was gone for long periods. When the waiter was with us, he was nice though. The wait between courses was a little long considering the lack of customers. FOOD N.O. BBQ Lobster: amazing!!! Buttermilk Poached Chicken: a little dry to me(I prefer dark meat) so I requested more lobster sauce and the waiter made it out like it may be a problem to get the chef to give me more stating«I’ll see if the chef will give you more». Ummm … I’m the paying customer. The chef should be giving me whatever I want seeing that I’M PAYINGFORIT. With more sauce, the dish was much better. Great flavors. Peanut Butter Stuffed Chocolate Tart: pretty good /different but good OVERALL I’m not rushing to get back there, but if a group was celebrating something there I’d definitely go!

Had a wonderful breakfast here this morning and then free happy hour appetizers convinced us to try dinner. Made the right choice. Nice atmosphere, N’Orlins blues, attentive wait staff and that was before the food arrived. Blew us away. Sunchoke soup with truffle oil, shrimp and croutons was perfect. Crap! Forgot about the cornbread and sweet potato rolls with butter and Liam bean purée. Then French baby chicken with crawfish and okra was the Best chicken I’ve ever had. Nice find. And it was a quiet respite from the craziness of French Quarter…

So much delicious! We did the summer tasting menu and all of our food was amazing. Well cooked, gorgeous plating. The wine pairings were appropriate. There was a considerable delay between our third and fourth course and there was no explanation or acknowledgment, our best guess was that perhaps they ruined it and didn’t want to serve and reprepared, it took that long. There was also an extremely obnoxious party behind us and when I mentioned it to the staff, they noted that when that party came in they said they were going to be loud. A bit of a disappointment that the MiLa staff did not handle the other party, and seating us elsewhere wouldn’t have helped because it’s a small intimate restaurant. Hopefully others will not have the same luck and can fully enjoy the sophisticated cuisine these talented chefs have to offer. The staff were all great besides what I mentioned above, the shotgun wedding punch was a great cocktail and the lima bean purée was so good I wanted to sneak spoonfuls between courses even without the bread!

Located inside the Pere Marquette building, this restaurant sure hits close the spot right on. We decided to go for dinner last minute, and we were able to quickly book a spot through OpenTables. The garage is convenient bc there’s valet. From the garage is a quick walk inside to the restaurant. Food was amazing. We tried everything recommended to us. Appetizer: New Orleans BBQ Lobster — not what you think in a typical«BBQ» sauce; Lobster was prepared perfectly — Plumped & Juicy Dinner: Crispy Baby French Chicken: THISIS A MUSTTRY!!! The skin was PERFECTION! Crisp & Light and the chicken was moist and flavorful Dessert: Root Beer Float AGAIN A MUSTTRY! Not your typical Root beer float at all. Very interesting twist to the traditional! Excellent Food, Great Service, & as always Great Company with my husband.=)

Breakfast buffet including eggs, bacon, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, pastries… and any drink of the many. You won’t get a better breakfast anywhere close by. Oh…the price? Only 11 dollars. Insane.

Doing NOLA in 12 hours is near impossible, and sadly that was my dilemma. I am indebted to Betty N( ) for graciously offering her expertise, knowledge, and insight assisting me in navigating about her hometown. Merci beaucoup, Betty! Quite tragic was not being capable of visiting half of her recommendations due to time conflicts… and lack of stomach space! While attempting to dine at Lüke, we were greeted with an hour wait, then to Acme Oyster House with another 45 minutes wait. In my desperation, I harnessed the power of my fellow Unilocalers and found MiLa. Made a reservation on my OpenTable app(because you don’t receive opentable points when reserving via Unilocal app) and was seated in 10 minutes. How special is MiLa? Special enough to impress this LA(Los Angeles) native. With its swanky décor and imaginative fine dining menu, friendly and attentive waitstaff that allow you to dine in comfort without rushing, I felt right at home! MiLa starts you off with delicious Scallion Cornbread & Sweet Potato Bread Rolls complimented by Lima Bean Purée and Butter. While their Scallion Cornbread was tasty with a very distinct lingering flavor of scallion, pairing it butter was exactly as you would imagine a standard cornbread & butter tandem would taste. Much more marvelous is the collision of their Sweet Potato Bread with Lima Bean Purée! You will be tempted to ask for more because they are a unique marriage of flavors! But don’t fill up on bread, the best is yet to come… While MiLa offers a Tasting Menu(which I regret not partaking of) with optional Wine Pairing, we opted to order off the standard menu. Chefs Rushing provided a very delectable amuse bouche of Squash Blossom Lobster Beignet that not only amused the mouth… it served as a tease! Terrine of Foie Gras($ 18.00): 5⁄5 Quite possibly the most inspired Foie Gras I’ve ever had. MiLa’s «Housemade Strawberry Jam» generously topped the terrine yet it’s generous strawberry preserve did not overpower with sweetness but served as an ideal compliment. For optimal enjoyment, assemble a bite with equal portions of Foie Gras, jam, frisée, and buttermilk biscuit. Truly a revelation! New Orleans Barbeque Lobster($ 20.00): 5⁄5 Would you believe that I DONOT have an affinity for lobster, crab, or oysters? Lobster is done right here at MiLa. Never have I consumed claw meat so flavorful, sweet, and tender. All ingredients where in perfect harmony, from the Lemon Confit, to the Light BBQ seasoning and ideally toasted baguette. Suffice it to say, I would be completely ecstatic to dine on MiLa’s Terrine of Foie Gras &NOBBQ Lobster alone! Sweet Tea Brined Rotisserie Duck($ 32.00): 3.25÷5 While this dish could simply earn 4.5 stars, it was penalized due to mostly dry duck meat. Whether or not the sweet tea brine depleted its fat content or perhaps a little on the overcooked side is subject for debate. Some bites were superbly moist and united flavors well with the included wilted greens, roasted beets and date reduction. Finally, I found this dish to have a bit of rubbery skin. Attention L.A. Unilocalers: While in NOLA and seeking a chic, comfortable dining experience with West Los Angeles appeal, look no further than MiLa. Think of it as home… without pretentiousness and snooty ‘tudes!
