Solid parade. The riders usually seem enthusiastic and throw pretty well. Not really any special throws, but I’m ok with old-fashioned beads and trinkets.

My daughter will definitely enjoy the stuffed moon and sheep from Morpheus. We caught a bunch of other stuff too, although we weren’t really trying. They have some neat little things. Nothing overly unique, but well organized and fun to watch.

Not easy, or possible even fair, to rate Krewe of Morpheus as they follow Krewe d’Etat and talk about a hard act to follow. The good: Moons! I love moon art(especially old timey pics of people sitting on them, which has absolutely nothing to do with this parade. I just wanted to put that out there). My favorite float of course was the one with the giant crescent moon leading it. I loved the theme of the parade(Louisiana Treasures) and the floats were beautifully made an lit. I noticed the crowd had thinned out remarkably after d’Etat and not sure if that was the best welcome for this parade as they turned the corner of Jefferson, but at first the energy level seemed down, especially the royalty floats. Throws: I loved the cups and the other Morpheus throws that I saw people get… but there wasn’t a lot of it in comparison to d’Etat and of course Muses and Nyx. I really didn’t catch anything worth keeping, other than some recycled beads from other parades, which don’t get me wrong, I think is pretty cool because the waste is considerable. Recycle and reuse! Otherwise, lots of neon glow sticks and plush stuff that I’d pass off to whatever kid wanted it.

This is a solid krewe on a VERY busy night. I think they would be better served(and stand out more) if they moved to Wednesday with Druids or even re-instate a Tuesday night parade. I like that they are co-ed. But as the 3rd parade on Friday night, they were a bit of a blur to me.

We watched half of this parade and bailed because it took FOREVER!!! Way too many gaps and not sure the reasons for them. Best catch: a cute puppy History: Established in 2000, the Krewe of Morpheus is named for the god of dreams. The krewe strives to be both inclusive in membership as well as provide parade goers an ‘old-school’ parade experience. Morpheus is one of the largest co-ed krewes in the area and kicks off the long weekend leading up to Mardi Gras.

Morpheus: the greek god of dreams. I really enjoyed this year’s theme of «Morpheus Sings a Tune.» Nothing like some great Marilyn, Elvis, Kiss and Michael Jackson floats! Although it’s kind of weird to have cups with a bunch of people you don’t know on them, I can tell that they really appreciate and showcase their members(i.e. on their cups!). I wasn’t the only one that felt that there was too many gaps in the parade that went on for too long; but that’s just how some parades go! The floats flew by us, but I was still able to catch a lot(«OVERHERE!!»). My favorite is the Morpheus take on the iconic New Orleans water meter cover. Gorgeous throw!

Awwesome parade with a lot to give. Very generous krewe. Catch of the night: tons of doubloons and blinky medallions.
