Krewe of Freret

Big emphasis was supposed to be on homemade throws so I eagerly awaited catching something like that in 2014. I did get one hand beaded bracelet which, of course, my little niece broke within moments. Kids.
This year, I saw more of their custom made masks which are lovely. if not as impressive as a coconut or a shoe. The crowd was enthusiastic and the riders were generous.
I liked their unique marching groups, especially the Mexican wrestler group which included a ring for «wrestling» as they marched. I also really like that this group seems to be a really good mix of people by age, race and gender.
Can’t wait to see what they do in year 3!
