That was the most expensive and the worst foot massage I’ve ever had. Not only did they annoy by trying to sell me on additional services that I didn’t want, but the massage itself was a waste of time and $. Yes, someone touched my feet for $ 72, but to call it ‘reflexology’ is a joke. Given that I’d just spent $ 150 for a great meal with fabulous food, wine, cocktails, and terrific service, it was insulting to pay this much for two ‘massages’ that amounted to zero.

I had a great massage. It’s all I wanted, its what I got. Its a unique set up. There is a lady on the sidewalk asking if you want a massage. I said, yes, I’ve been walking around for the last three days and yes, I did need a massage. She shepherded me in to a table and a masseuse. There are a bunch of massage tables lined up beside each other, so there is no privacy. There isn’t really a door on the place, it’s an open design kind of like a garage door. It never closes as long as they are open. They massage right over your clothes. They’re Chinese and speak limited English. However, I was able to communicate with them well enough to get what I needed. I had a 10 – 12 minute foot massage, Divine. The back massage(30 minutes) was awesome. He worked the kinks out of my neck and shoulders. I would recommend their services to anyone who is out and walking around. If you’re stiff or sore, just walk in and they will massage you. If you’re self conscious, its not going to work for you. I was charged $ 48.00 for both.

It was okay. I thought it was fair for the price. Not too pushy.

Ok let me just say you do a hell of a lot more walking in and around the french quarter than you ever do in your home city. After walking around seeing the sites you are in total agreement with the guy calling out at you«Massage», «Massage» almost in a way of asking you to come in versus telling you that you need one because you are walking really funny down Canal street towards the store front. This is my second time coming here. I came last year after one of those days of walking around the qtr and a walking tour and recognized one of the guys from last time. The place is just a store front where they put in some massage tables and chairs. NO decoration whatsoever! They sell some kind of foot cream and have a poster up for reflexology. The workers here are chinese and dont speak very good english and their accent is very thick so you may need to ask them to repeat themselves a few times. I didnt really experience them being too pushy but will confirm they mentioned 2 –3 times on whether to do a 30 min versus a 40 min. I didnt feel harrased though. They do a pretty good job of getting that soreness out of your feet so that you can go on another day or so of walking, dancing and drinking it up on bourbon street. I actually saw another massage place a few blocks north on Canal that looked to be newer and very nicely decorated. I think I will try that place next time. This place is Cash Only!!!

I can’t believe I’m the first to review this business; I expected to see tons of postings on here! Just Relax is a very basic massage setup on Canal Street, across the street from the Sheraton. If you’ve walked in that area you’ve seen them — open storefront, filled with people lounging in big chairs getting foot massages. Since I’m in town for a week, and doing a lot of walking, the other day I figured my feet needed some TLC so I stopped in during a morning in the French Quarter. As I do with all my reviews, I’ll break it down into the good and the bad: Good: * convenient — you can just walk on in and get a massage, which is good if you’ve been walking a lot * timing — you don’t need to spend an hour, you can get a foot massage for 20 minutes and pay $ 22, or more $$$ for more minutes That’s all the good. Now the bad: * credit cards — I asked if they accept credit cards, they said yes… then after the massage they said no credit cards and made me take cash out of their in-house ATM($ 3 fee). * pushy — they are pretty pushy with trying to add on time and services. As my foot massage started, they put the back of my chair down so I was reclining and another employee started rubbing my temples… just as I was relaxing, he said a scalp massage would be an additional charge. I was fine with it, but if you only have a few bucks for the foot massage, don’t let them start rubbing your head.(adding a 20-minute scalp massage on to a 30-minute foot massage brought my total to $ 57. eek.) * communication — I’ve lived and travelled all over the world, so I’m pretty good at understanding limited English and strong accents; but the entire staff of this place knows 2 words of English, and it’s very heavily accented. So again, when they are pushing extra services, it’s very very hard to understand what they’re asking/telling you. Be wary, don’t just nod and smile, or you might end up with an extra charge.
