Saved my butt today with a plastic bag to cover my phone from the sudden rain. Seem like really great people there. Do support them. Will go check them out when it’s not raining and I’m not running Thank You guys!

I love Jimmy’s. I go there often and the staff is always really nice and helpful. It’s convenient and they have most anything you need. The deli is good, especially the chicken, meat pies and sandwiches.

Wow… okay…it does kinda suck… but it’s a lifesaver for the neighborhood. i lived on Poland for a while(and will probably move back soon) and this place filled a valuable need for me. Also i saw the softer side of the angry foreign clerk(think the cab driver from kids in the hall) while he was outside playing with his pack of adopted stray cats… adorable!

What a crazy little bodega. Beyond the usual sundry offerings like bagged ice, sodas, and makeshift deli, there’s a great selection of men’s shoes wrapped in saran in a display case below the register. Any why? Maybe better not to know. Be forewarned while the sandwiches are made to order, in no way should this offering be considered a poboy, hence me referring to it as a sandwich. The bread is not french nor loaf and more of an off the rack wholesale pistolette doughy(not crusty) variety. Too the meats are clearly of a pre-packaged ilk. That said my turkey and American cheese dressed was only $ 6.99 and freshly made. So, meh, you get what you get. I was hungry. I ate. There’re many, many more and better spots around the city offering arguably more authentic local fare. But I was on foot, deep in the Bywater, and short on time. So one sandwich, one Barq’s Red Crème soda, and one chocolate Hubig’s pie later, I was on my way for about 10 bucks lighter. Would I go back? Maybe not. Does my morbid curiosity wonder about the men’s shoes? Clearly.

While the previous reviewer is wrong with the location of this place, he is right on with everything. The food is decent at the best and is cheap. That is the ONLY thing that is cheap about this place. I have seen rats dart under the rear coolers and the prices change every time I go in there. There is nothing that is consistent about this place at all. They feed off the locals that don’t have vehicles or just need to grab something they forgot to get when they were in town. If it wasn’t such a pain to go other places that are close to the Bywater, I would never go in here. They know they are a necessary evil and take full advantage of it. Things that are normally .60 cents in most stores are around a $ 1.50 or more. They don’t put prices on anything, so it’s a crap shoot when you check out. Avoid this place if you can.
