Really nice place away from the crowd on Bourbon Street. Not a party place but somewhere to sip your drink, relax and enjoy your time in Nola. The bartender put special care in every cocktails: freshly squeezed lemon juice, great garnishes, etc. Sazerac, French 75, Hurricane and Pimm’s Cup, all delicious! Cocktails are 8 $ during happy hour. Awesome value!

The Ice House is a tiny bar situated on Chartres Street and provides a welcome stopping point for those heading to, or from the French Market. This is a rare hidden gem in New Orleans where you can stop in without being surrounded by a crowd of tourists, have a delicious cocktail, and get some excellent tips, history, and advice from the bartender. As the website suggests, definitely try the Hurricane, which is made different than some of the other bars and was the best one we had in the city.

James the«Happy Hour Bartender» is a very talented, professional, and helpful. He hooked us up on our first day here with his FRESH(NOPOWDERBASE) Hurricanes. They were so GOOD. Today decided to get a Bloody Mary. Made with Cajun spices. It was very smooth going down. I really liked my drink. Great hotel bar

The ICEHOUSEBAR @ Hotel Provincial has become a neat little home base for our French Quarter visits. The Hotel Provincial has excellent parking, as one’s vehicle never leaves the premises. This bar opened about two years ago, also furnishes beverage services to the nice patio /fountain /pool area, steps away. Crowd is a mix of locals, hotel guests, & partiers. House Specials include Bloody Mary’s, Sazerac Cocktails, Pimm’s Cups, etc. The tres-chique«Restaurant Stella» shares the front of this historical edifice. Irene’s, Tujague’s, Fiorella’s, & El Gato Negro are nearby. Muriel’s is 2−½ blocks up Rue Chartres; Frenchmen Street music venues are three or four blocks down.
