House of Lounge

Try house of flees or whatever the heck was biting me in that place. Left with two bites and my friend had three.

While some may consider this place expensive, I do think that quality lingerie warrants higher prices, This place is great. Cute styles and designs, and when I walked to a nook in the corner of the store, I found myself faced with a latex bra — so House of Lounge definitely isn’t afraid to sell edgier undergarments! Great stop.

Thank you for hiring better staff. All of the wonderful happy things I gushed about in my earlier review (see below) are still true! And! And! Your staff are much more inviting now! There were smiles! On faces! Of people at work! Real smiles! None of that «I gotta fake it while the boss is around» crap.
We even got a «congrats on your gay marriage» compliment today, unprovoked, while my wife bought the most purple Betsy Johnson nether-​garment I have ever seen. Perfect all around.
Please, HoL, keep hiring people who love lingerie and love sharing lingerie with the world. The world needs more beautiful bras and delicious underpants to go around.

This is a perfect example of a «small business» with high quality products. Skip the hassle of going to the Lakeside mall and going to Victoria’s Secret. This place has a wider selection of lingerie including my favorite, Betsy Johnson. They are so helpful in finding the right stuff for you.
You’ll pay for what you get. It’s not cheap, but they have great stuff. They usually always have a «Sale» area with great deals too, with lots of sizes.
I like this place.

Eh… I just didn’t find anything I loved. There were some cute designs here, but nothing fit right. It was disappointing because I loved their stuff in Eiffel Society’s Dirty Coast and House of Lounge fashion show.
This may be on account of it being close to Valentine’s Day — I will definitely have to return some other time.
Bonus stars because their service was fantastic! They were really helpful and attentive. Apart from not a lot of selection, everything was spot on.

Great place if you are looking for gorgeous lingerie.
They sell lingerie by actual designers, not just random underthings spread around. I think that this is the closest thing that New Orleans has to an «Agent Provocateur». They sell bras, panties, corsets, garter belts, stockings, teddies and more.
The items here aren’t cheap, but they are definitely worth the extra splurge. When you want something a little nicer than what Victoria’s Secret has to offer or you want a pretty matching underwear set, this is the place to go.

Obviously lingerie is one of those contentious things where one person’s «Oh Dear God NO» is another person’s «Yes, please.» House of Lounge works a variety of looks, and so obviously there are going to be things that don’t appeal to everyone, but they have a great selection across a range of styles and prices.
This place (and Trashy Diva next door) is pretty ideal as a first look if there isn’t a totally specific thing you want. There are probably some places that do better fetish wear, and there are certainly a whole range of places around the FQ/​Bourbon area that go for a more … «professional» look.
I think they have some connections with the local burlesque scene, and they throw good parties at the store sometimes. The people who run it are really fun.
It’s not very big, but each time my girlfriend and I have gone in for something, we have been surprised at how many options there are on the racks.
Also, they have men’s wear; their selection is good, but let’s face it– men’s lingerie just isn’t as exciting.
