Miso soup was lukewarm but the sushi and fried rice were great. Service was good on a busy night after a parade. Great late night spot.

The food is good but it’s a love hate relationship. I allways order delivery and it takes way to long. Besides that i have to deal with the bipolar attitude and flip flipping of whether are not they deliver to my location.(They do deliver to my area. They always do). Being placed on hold for extended amounts of time is another issue. The only things they have going for them is that the food is good and they stay open late.

The only time Hoshun pops up in my head is when it’s late and all the good restaurants are closed or soon to be closing. I don’t like to walk in an hour or 30 mins before closing time. I worked in a restaurant before and hate to stay later because of some ppl just trickling in. Food service is average; slow nights are good service and when they busy is bad service. I take what I can get I guess. I like their sweet and sour chicken entrée. Sushi rolls are average. Desserts are worth getting.

Hoshun is a great sushi/Chinese option in town. I love a couple of things about them: 1. They are open till 2 am… I think I would enjoy having sushi as a drunk food option. 2. They also have combination platters, such as sweet and sour chicken, that Coke with rice, soup, and Rangoon. Yum! 3. They have their own parking lot. 4. The décor is modern and fun 5. Pretty decent happy hour 7 days a week. Only downfall is no split checks. Womp womp.

Pretty good restaurant. The Tokyo tea was nice, and string :-) Went there in search for good Chinese and we found it. Overall the experience was pleasant, we were seated fairly quickly, considering it was weeknight days before Christmas. We asked for the J pops in appetizers, they do turn hot towards the end but nice flavor. In main course, we asked for chicken and asparagus in xo sauce, garden veggie delights and house lo mein… Yes yes, you much food and we had to doggie bag a lot because their portion sizes are huge,… The food was very appetizing to look at, delicious and the service impeccable… Highly recommended!

First and most importantly this place is open til 2 am like every day! Even better is that the food is pretty good. Being that’s it has such flexible hours you can never pin the exact crowd. It might be packed on a Tuesday and empty on Friday night. This time I’m back to try something I seen somebody else order. It looked and smelled so good that I had to ask the waiter. It the bbq pork and vegetables combo plate. Comes with soup or salad & crab Rangoon or egg rolls. I choose tho and sour soup and crabs ragoons. You also get to pick from brown, steamed, or fried rice. All in all this place is a must to keep in rotation for locals and great place to try late night if you’re visiting

This place is a jewel. I’m a sucker for a place with sleek décor and ambience and menu items that seem crafted and not numbered 1−60c. So, I’m a sucker for Hoshun. It’s that nice place that you can still order a cheap bottle of white zin to split with your friends, get a full meal, and not break the bank but still feel like you’re in an upscale environment. This is a great place to load up on apps if you’re in the mood to share. The crab Rangoon, J-pops, and the sweet BBQ pork are my fav picks. Miso soup is delicious here if it’s a go-to for you as it is for me. The hours here are later than average, so if you’re on a non-traditional life schedule like myself, this is a major plus. Try it!

A great fall back option when plan fall through. We sat at the bar and ordered, the place was not crowded. We ordered the miso soup which i would not reccomend, it wasn’t nasty, it just wasn’t the miso soup i was expecting. We ordered the usual calamari, its good and was seasoned well with the peppers. We also ordered the Bhudda Belly Roll always a favorite you can count on. Our drinks were a cosmo and I believe the lemonade something. The drinks were good and strong, that’s probably why we don’t remember what we ordered.

I have to give this place a solid 4. The 2 times we came here the food was pretty good. The service both times was great. Tonight our food came out really fast. This place also stays open late. I was a little disappointed that this place doesn’t have a ramen dish, but maybe they will add it to the menu eventually.

Always quiet when I’ve seen it, but always great sushi! Their happy hour is no joke: 3 – 6 pm most days of the week, and sushi is $ 3.55 for 6 pieces, and the wine is a hearty pour. It’s great to sit in the bar and watch a football game, or sit in the main dining room for a finer dining experience. Our waiter told us they are open until 2 am, so if you are ever in need for late night sushi, this is your spot!

The place was just okay. I loved the atmosphere. The food was not the best. It was mediocre chinese food which really disappointed me since this was the place I took my fiancé to eat for his birthday. The hot and sour soup was great, sweet and sour chicken lacked seasoning, the fried rice had very little flavor. I did get a sushi roll(super dome roll) that was pretty good. The cajun spring rolls sounded so good but really disappointed us. Our server was very good though. Not a place we’ll be returning to. Oh well, never know until you try.

The food: The sushi here is delicious! We ordered the New Orleans roll, the California roll, the Spicy Tuna roll, and the Surf & Turf roll. None of these disappointed. The Surf & Turf was my favorite. It’s topped with filet mignon, and it is as delicious as it sounds. It’s a fairly large roll, so I recommend sharing it. Also, the sake here is strong, so make sure to enjoy some of that. You won’t regret it. The atmosphere: This place is quite modern, but you won’t hear me complaining. We enjoyed our meal directly at the bar. The music is Top 40, so if you hear it on the radio, you’ll hear it here. Overall, the atmosphere is nice — definitely catering to a younger crowd, but I would feel comfortable bringing my parents or even grandparents here. The staff: The hosts were cheerful and welcoming. Since we sat directly at the bar, we were waited on by the bartenders. I don’t remember their names, but they were incredibly nice to us!(Especially considering that we rolled in 30 minutes before closing time. Sorry, y’all!) These guys were great! Hoshun is a great place to have some sushi and grab some drinks with friends after work, especially if you work late. Staying open until 2:00am is very convenient for those of us that don’t get around to dinner until midnight or later.

Hoshun is a pretty good stand-by. If one person from your group wants sushi and another wants beef and broccoli… you’re golden. It’s open suuuuuuuuper late too, so it’s great for those late nights spent drinking when you want bright lights and fusion Asian food. The food is pretty basic though. A «sushi special», a few rolls & some pieces of fish on rice with soup and salad will set you back $ 15. The entrees are a bit pricy too. The service is pretty good, I’ve never had any issues. As far as Asian food goes, this ranks solidify at a 3. Nothing special, but convenient.

We live nearby and have tried this restaurant twice, about five years apart. The building & décor are nice. The wait staff is pretty good. The food is HORRIBLE ! Breadcrumb coated greasy tiny shrimp passed off as «Tempura». Please do yourself a favor, and eat anywhere else ! Rick

Great lunch specials. Delicious Miso Soup!!! The crispy wontons that come with the soup are crispity and crunchety! I usually get the fried chicken with the General’s sauce. I ask for a little kick. Without the kick it is a bit too sweet for my taste. Super fast, good lunch for under ten bucks.

It was 1 am and the place was packed… so why don’t more non-bar type places stay open this late on the weekend? As always, service was… curious. Although Re found the bellowing bartender(who was also our server) pretty funny. Let this review serve as a reminder to me not to get sushi here. None of the sushi was great but it was all OK. PLUS they have inari(under bean curd on the sushi menu) which is difficult to find in NOLA. So if it’s late at night then give it a go… you might end up with a semi-belligerent drag queen show(from other patrons) and you might end up full or drunk, depending on your needs.

Searching for food at 1:30 am after being at a concert for hours, starved on top of that is no fun. So after doing some quick Unilocaling we found this place. Since we were already those jerks that walked in 15 minutes before closing, we tried to make this experience as pain free and quick as possible for the waitstaff who I’m sure were more than ready to go home. I ordered a crunchy roll and my husband ordered chicken and shrimp pad Thai. Both came out in less than five mins after we ordered which is a little scary but hey no complaints from over here. Sushi was pretty bad but once again it was close to closing so I didn’t expect much. Pad Thai was fairly decent. Not the best by any means but not the worst either. Wait staff made us feel comfortable and we didn’t feel rushed at all. And we managed to set a restaurant record for ourselves, in and out in 15 minutes woo hoo! Overall if I’m ever in search of late night food, I would give this place a go and try different menu items.
