DELICIOUS, HEALTHYFOOD. First time at HK today, and I will definitely be going back. I ordered the Grilled Cha Cha Chicken, which besides the«cha cha», sounds like a pretty plain sandwich. It was anything but. Their house-made Siracha Chicken was very flavorful and perfect with the freshly-made bun. Initially, when I heard Kosher, I thought the choices would not be that great, but after looking at the rest of the menu, there are a ton of other foods I still want to try. They have burritos, burgers, and amazing-looking brunch. I talked to the owner, Harveen, who told me all about how the restaurant started and how they get all of their ingredients from farms so they know that everything is organic and fresh. There are not many places you can get a healthy, organic meal for under $ 10. Two thumbs up.

I ordered presents for my staff. They were very reasonably priced and they were delivered to my office! The staff loved the gift. Thanks, HKNOLA!

Just before Thanksgiving I dropped in looking for babka. Though you can always order chocolate, I chatted with the baker and she agreed to make a couple of cinnamon loaves for me. After the long weekend, I almost forgot to pick it up, and that would have been tragic – her babka was DELICIOUS. I thought I was going to freeze the second loaf, but that never even happened. If you like babka, this is the place!

This place offers really good quality, clean food at good prices. I appreciate organic and grass fed options and this place offers just that. You can tell alot of thought has been put into making the dishes they offer … Today I had the best falafel sandwich i have ever had in my entire life!!! it had fresh greens.olives.who knew? just worked really well together. the pita bread was amazing!!! not the cheap commercially made stuff… i only remember falafel sandwiches to have the falafel. some lattuce and cut tomatoes with ton of tahini sauce… so this was so refreshing! I am a BIGFAN! Spoke to the owner. so friendly! took the time to to talk to me about the food they serve. I respect what they are about and totally support their style! If you have low standards and are used to cheap food then maybe you should go elsewhere. to chain restaurants or mcdonalds or restaurants that use cheap ingredients and make it look pretty on the plate and charge you alot for what they are serving you so you dont FEEL ripped off! there are plenty around.

I’ve been told that this place is rather overpriced and that the portions are really small, so I’ve avoided it in the last two years living here. I finally went due to it’s proximity to my new house, and I agree that this is an issue with Hillel. However, after I’ve sampled a few plates, the food can be deliciously fresh AND filling if you order correctly. I’ve found that the most bang-for-your-buck option is to get a burrito, as they’re the same price as other meals but much larger in size. The last time I went I had the Xavier burrito, which contained a pulled-pork-like beef and was very delicious. Overall, I’m sure I’ll keep coming here for lunch so long as I live so close!

I had the PASTRAMISANDWICH for lunch and it was very delicious; just the right amount of crunch from the toasts, the homemade pastrami is not too salty and just oily enough to keep the sandwich moist. The CINNIMONROLL is also great – there were walnuts and apples baked inside. It might also be useful to note that they have a lot of vegan and kosher options. My good friend Tyler is vegan and comes here all the time. Great study spot, especially during the summer before Tulane reopens.

Ok, this place isn’t in a convenient location. But who cares. When I eat amazing food, I’ll climb a freaking mountain for it. This place is so damn good, orgazm with every bite. Get the banana nut bread for dessert and cha cha chicken with sweet potatoes. Or the pastrami. Ohhhhh the pastrami. I would literally pay 50 $ for that pastrami. The. Pastrami. Is. Tittiez. Boom.

First off, my boyfriend and I were lucky and found a close parking spot; their parking lot holds about 8 – 10 cars. The atmosphere is a mix between a laid back study place and a cafeteria. The tables were a little too close together. I found it hard to walk around them. It’s sad because the interior or the place has potiental to be a great restaurant. As for the food, my boyfriend ordered a organic turkey gumbo, which he said was bland and flavorless. I thought it was a bit too oily. I ordered a chicken swhama which is basically a chicken salad stuffed into a pita. It didn’t please me however it do don’t really disappoint me as much as I had expected it too. The chicken was coated in seasoning; I wish they would have cut it into smaller pieces. As for the price, I thought that it was a little too expensive. I know that organic food costs more, that I don’t mind, but this place…-sigh– our tab was 19.12 $. Also, the chef is often seen, through the open food window, chewing, so I guess that he’s eating… on the job… without gloves on. Overall, the price killed it.

The best place to eat on campus, I cannot say enough good things about this place. In addition to amazing food, you have a piece of mind knowing that what you’re putting into your body is fresh and healthy. Good food for the body and soul. I love Hillel’s kitchen.

I go a lot because I am a Tulane student and this establishment accepts our wavebucks. If I was paying with actual money not attached to my meal plan, I don’t think I would go as much. It’s really overpriced and they are often out of items. Of the times I’ve been, they’ve only had french fries in stock once. If I was kosher, I think i would come here a lot. This place does absolutely everything kosher. Shabbat dinner is amazing for local students.

One of the best restaurants in town, very unique twists on conventional kosher dishes. However, you will not find bacon nor cheese here everything is extremely good. I would recommend the Hillel burger.

I like the affordable prices and the fact that it’s just off campus enough to find a quick spot to park and pick up lunch. They have a Twitter account that updates daily specials, and they also take phone in orders. Today they gave me free chocolate cake so of course I like them.

This sunny, airy, spartan, spotless locale just two blocks from Tulane’s and Loyola’s Uptown campuses is a good destination for those looking for a welcome change from processed foods. While the main tenets are kosher(no shrimp po’ boys here), the variety is great and they offer daily specials. The matzoh ball soup was quite good — the matzoh was light, instead of the usual leaden lumps is salty water. What looked pretty but was disappointing in execution was the daily special — duck bahn mi. This was a tiny sandwich(pistolettes? really?), with no sides offered(College students — $ 9??). While the duck was juicy, it and the accompanying garnishes weren’t spicy. I didn’t get any of the crunch I wanted from the bread or the veggies. I’ll come back to try out a burger, but when everything on the menu is offered a la carte, I’m not in a rush.
