When we walked in, there was a sign that said everything was on sale(for the holiday season), except bugs. I thought that was a joke. You know, the old«Haha, we’re an old antique shop and there are probably bugs in here.”* No. They have a collection of absolutely terrifying, mammoth insects that would undoubtedly take over the entire world if they weren’t encased in glass display cases. At what I imagine are reasonable prices. Actually, I have no idea what reasonable prices for bugs are, but they were pretty cool. Other things Greg’s has: –A remarkable selection of crowns that everyone was trying to give me(because I rule). –More dirty bottles than anyone ever needs. –So much old furniture that ranges from really cool to that should be burned. –Crazy and sweet old signs. –An odd assortment of other awesomely random stuff that you’ve got to explore to find. ____________ *Almost as old as this one: Why does a chicken coop have two doors? Because if it had four doors it would be a chicken sedan.

the worst consumer experience I’ve ever experienced in my life. I thought the place was pretty cool until I had the unfortunate experience of Meeting Greg. Total Asshole!!! Rude Rude Rude! I would never go there again.

This place is awesome. We were looking for a nice rustic piece to turn into a bar for our home. Prices are right for the area. It’s definitely a nice spot to stop by and browse. Everything I’ve been searching for, for our industrial rustic farmhouse styled apartment is here! Even if not buying anything it’s a cool place to stop and browse. The customer service was good.

This is one of my favorite places to stop at when I’m visiting New Orleans. They always have fun and unique art/furniture/things you never knew you always wanted. I particularly love their chair wall. It’s a great way to display a set of chairs while saving space, and it’s just a really cool photo opportunity. They also have really reasonably priced doors and windows if you’re into repurposing or creating art. I wish I had more room in my car to take some of those fun things home with me. Great place. :)

I love that fact that they are in the quarter but the owner is as moody as it gets and so is his staff. He uses lines like this piece of marble from 1900 and thinks by asking a question, you want a discount. Moody moody moody. By the way each little pebble is millions of years old so a piece of marble from the 1900s on a wobbly piece does not increase value. Other than that, cool shop, with cool pieces.

I unfortunately had an exact replica of service as many of the reviewers here have shared in May of this year. If you purchase an item be prepared to carry it home yourself at that very moment. I fully understood waiting a couple of weeks to have my table shipped — as it is more efficient to ship many items at once. However, after a month of waiting, several phone calls that led to nowhere, poorly written texts and a tracking number to the wrong destination, we received our table broken with zero packaging. I was able to resolve the issue by talking to Bridget who is the most competent, kind and enthusiastic employee(who was on vacation prior) so no hard feelings in the end, but I felt compelled to write this in hopes that it may shed some light on what is obviously a weakness in the business. I also have to say, that if you choose to text as a way of communicating with customers, please spell out words and take a professional tone… especially since you already have $ 300 of their money.

Terrible, rude, and lazy customer service. In early March 2015 I was visiting NOLA and stopped into this store. I bought a window and asked to have it shipped back to Minnesota. They said that would be no problem and that I should expect it in 3 weeks at the most. A month later, I called the store and was passed around to several different people, one of whom had me text her a picture of the original receipt for my item and told me that since Greg’s Antiques accidentally shipped my window to SOUTHCAROLINA, she would go to the post office and put a check in the mail for me THATDAY. Over two weeks later, and after talking to two more people and the rude curmudgeon of an owner, it was discovered that the person never actually put my check in the mail. After more than two months, I finally received a check to reimburse me for the window I never received, but GOODLORD did they make it as difficult as possible. And they treated me like I was inconveniencing them! This place gets the middle finger from me.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about this place. This was my fourth time visiting NOLA and we’ve always had such great experiences. This was hands down the WORST retail experience I’ve ever had anywhere. I don’t even really know how to describe it. We came across Greg’s Antiques on a walk one day and really thought it was a neat place. Filled with lots of random stuff and cool old looking signs. I’d been looking for some marquee type lights for a long time and they had a lot to choose from. I decided not to shlep them home on the place due to their size and opted to call when I got home. The person at the desk gave me their card and said they do it all the time. I called and spoke to a nice woman who sold me the 7 marquee letters and said they should arrive in about two weeks. 3 ½ weeks later I called to inquire about when they would arrive. I received quite the run around and finally decided to text the original sales person. She was on vacation. I decided to call back a few days later and spoke to the rudest individual ever! He told me, «You’ll get them when you get them, okay?» and proceeded to what I would consider verbally assault me over the phone. I couldn’t understand why the simple question of «where is my stuff?» was so offensive to these people? I again texted the original sales person stating I was too intimidated to call back and she had Greg call me. Greg was the second rudest individual I’ve ever spoken to. berating me and yelling at me. He also told me that he had been recording my conversations with out my knowledge which I am pretty sure isn’t even legal. Honestly, I was just excited to have these items that I had ordered and already paid in full for and couldn’t understand why calling three + weeks later to inquire was such a big deal… Later I read the Unilocal Reviews and I see I am clearly not the only one this has happened to. In fact if you look at some of the hidden reviews you can see that they seem to thrive on intimidation and verbal abuse. To cap it all off when the items finally arrived, one of the letters was missing, the light bulbs were strewn throughout the box and there weren’t enough cords. I had my husband call and he left a message, but no one ever called back. surprise.

Man, nothing but good things to say about my experience with this place. My friends and I were just in town for my bachelor party and we rented a group of 12 bikes. The staff was crazy friendly and helpful when we picked up the bikes and sent us on our way without any issue. After only a few minutes on the road, we had issues with two of the bikes. We called for assistance and they told us to hang tight at a nearby bar while they sent replacements. Fifteen minutes later, we sat at the bar enjoying a drink, while they brought two perfect bikes to replace the old ones. And, the guy who came out even helped defend us against some unruly gentlemen yelling at us about parking our bikes out front. The owner felt bad for letting us down(which he didn’t do) and let us extend our rental a few hours free of charge. I wish I could speak to their antiques department, but if there bike rental etiquette is any indicator, this is a great place to check out. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting NOLA.

Some really special antique furniture and chandeliers. Fun signage. Across the way are the most gorgeous kimonos at extremely reasonable prices. The owner and his daughter are so sweet and helpful. This place was definitely a highlight to my very quick trip to NOLA. Go! Now!

Very sad that this cute antique junk yard is run by someone who so clearly thrives on drama… I’m not going to lie, I feared for my safety at one point while in this shop! He appears to be a raving lunatic… Screaming and yelling, kicking customers out because the staff gave different prices than he was willing to accept. We saw multiple people with items in their hands put them down and scurry out of the shop because of his antics. I wouldn’t venture into this place of business, even if I saw something I thought I couldn’t live with out… And one last Word to the wise, do not even attempt to haggle! Our you will be thrown out… Literally!

We were in town for a few days and rented bikes from them. Great people and pretty funny. Bikes were in good shape. They also told us if something happens to one of the bikes just call then and they will bring us a new one and if we were going to be late just give them a call. Next time we are in town def going to them to rent a bike and I’ll prob buy one of their cool signs too.

Love this place! Each time I have ever visited NOLA, I find myself walking into Greg’s. This looks like it wouldn’t have many finds on the outside, but once you venture in, it is like antique heaven! There are really nice furniture pieces, decorative items, really rare things like old/imported coffee sacks that would be cool for decorating, and plenty of rarities that you won’t find anywhere else in the quarter. The thing about NOLA gift shops is that they are like most cities, they all sell the same things. If you are looking for something very unique and authentic, Greg’s is your place!

The owner has an ego problem. He had a sign out in front responding to the one negative review on Unilocal.Heavens to Betsy, get over your bad self Greg. It is a cool little place. Not great antiques in an area with good(albeit pricey) antiques. It is more a «funky used furniture and artsy stuff» store. If I lived in nola i would probably shop here for odd stuff. It is an marginal antique store but at least a four star«good junk/interesting things» store. The ego thing may be in play here too. Think about rebranding and don’t sweat Unilocal reviews.

This is a really fun antique shop to walk through and shop. Such an unique collection. I love to come in here for the photos. They also have an interesting collection of preserved insects on the wall. If I lived in New Orleans, I would definitely go back for tables, chairs and cabinets.

This is a must stop if you are looking to take home a special treasure without taking out a second mortgage on your home. We love our metal yard gator we took home on one special trip and we can’t wait to add a new fried for him soon! Awesome reclaimed items such as doors and windows too. Big and small they seem to have it all.

A great little antique shop on the edge of the French Quarter. Lots of interesting furniture and odds and ends. I have purchased stuff here on a couple of occations and its always fun to walk thru. Here’s your buying hint, one a month or whenever they get a large shipment about to come in, they discount everything 25−33% to move out the inventory, so it can pay to visit a few times.
